Mist seeps in through the trees, rising higher and higher until the tops are hidden. The ground beneath my feet shifts. Like a ripple around me, I hear the trees collapse. Then all is quiet. The night has begun. I light my torch, a routine for every night, and wave it in the air. A beacon, to all those who see it.

I open my eyes. Woah. Where am I? I stand up, brushing my shirt and pants off. My poison-green eyes scan my surroundings and I feel my bow strapped to my back as well as my arrow holder. "Hello?" I call, my black hair blowing lightly in the light breeze. "Hello? Is anyone there?"

My eyes flung open and I quickly stand up and draw out my katana. "Hul! Where are you?" I call into the darkness.

I stagger awake. Yup. I'm back here. Again. I stand up, fixed my mask, and look around. "Hello?" I call into the darkness, looking for any sign of life or light or both.

I lift my head and see a flicker of light. I draw out my bow and one of my arrows and load my bow, ready to fire as I slowly walk toward the light and the voice that called.
