Snowsong lifted her head at the voice of another cat. Her eyes narrowed as she studied the tom. “I don’t recognize you...” She growled, flicking her tail as she saw a fish swim past. Darn it! She got to her paws and stepped closer to the rogue. “Are you from a different clan or something, because I know your not in ours.” She slowly unsheathed her claws as she spoke, digging them into the ground. She knew some cats would speak to the rogue, maybe even become friends with them. She wasn’t going to do that, though, she preferred to chase them out or give them a few scratches. While Snowsong waited for the toms response, she turned and continued her fishing, hoping that he would just go away.

"Ah, no need to be so testy." he meowed smoothly, waving his tail slowly in a passive way. " Obviously I'm not a Clan cat, darling. " he said lightly, using her terms in a light way. His dark eyes gleaming brightly. He was used to confrontation with other cats, a smile on his face. " You must be one of those fisher cats I've heard about, he flicked his long tail. He had heard about them from the cats he had been staying with. The ShadowClan or whatever it was.

"Ok, works for me," Torrentfeather called over her shoulder, beckoning for Lionsmoke to follow with a flick of her white-tipped tail. She pushed past a clump of reeds and trotted toward the stream, slowing down cassualy as she neared the chattering water.

Lionsmoke followed the molly, keeping close to not lose sight of her. The last thing he wanted to do was get separated. He glanced down at the water, seeing his own reflection in the river. A shadow of a fish went by his eyes.

The warrior scoffed. “Don’t call me darling, you don’t have the right to do that.” She was beginning to get irritated, there were too many rogues on the territory lately, and her clan hadn’t completely recovered yet. Why can’t he just go away.. The she-cat climbed to her paws, tail lashing. “Alright, what do you want from me?” Snowsong tapped her paw against the ground impatiently, waiting for him to either respond or leave. After a few seconds she directed her attention back to the river, a low growl rumbling in her throat.

The molly sniffed at the water lightly, dipping a forepaw into the cool stream and letting it soak her fur. She sighed and pulled out, "I will never understand why some cats hate water," she muttered to herself, then positioned her body so that any fish that swam by would be in the reach of her forepaws to snag one and throw it into the air, "If I throw a fish toward you, try and catch it, ok?"

Lionsmoke shrugged. He watched her dip her paw into the water. "I don't like water, because my fur is too long and I sink.", he replied. He loved water, but his fur made him drag down while hunting.

"Makes sense," Torrentfeather shrugged, slipping a paw into the stream and pulling a trout free, throwing it over to Lionsmoke with a flick of her tail. She watched it flail, waiting for the tom to give it the final blow with his paw or teeth patiently.

Lionsmoke grabbed it in his jaws and killed it with a blow with his teeth. He placed it on the ground and looked at the other cat. "I got it!", he yowled to her to her just in case she didn't see.

Torrentfeather's tail twitched slightly, "Yup," she answered, then lay crouching, waiting for another fish to pass by.

But then she heard it. A twig snap. Were they alone? She lifted her head and glanced at Lionsmoke, who hadn't moved. "Smell that?" she called over, opening her mouth to taste fox.

Drawn from the depths of his mind again, he peered around and blinked, realizing he’d been so caught in his thoughts that he couldn’t even recall the scenery he’d been looking at for the past several minutes. “It’s weird how different it looks compared to leaf-bare, when everything’s covered in snow.” It wasn’t as harsh, uninviting, but instead alive with atmospheric noises and brilliant hues. He jolted when a hoot of an owl resounded from a nearby tree and flinched away from it, almost bumping into Frostflight in the process. Although he searched for the source of the noise with a puzzled expression, he couldn’t determine where it’d come from or what had made it. Coughing lightly, he moved on by asking, “You, uh.. mentioned your apprentice when we were working on the camp barrier, how’re things going with them?”

Frostflight's face screwed up in distaste, despite his birth being in leaf-bare and well... his name being frost, the feline found it difficult to like the territory when it was covered in snow. The river was too cold to swim in or fish... he slipped on everything when he ran - not to mention his short coat! "The only thing leaf-bare is good for is snuggling." His meow was gentle, filled with humor though he really did dislike it. Twitching his ears at the sound of an owl, the warrior kept his stride steady and focused, careful not to lead them towards the border or into the river by accident. That wouldn't be fun to explain why they'd both be soaked... or scratched up by a nighttime patrol. Relax... it's a walk. The thought comforted him, his body relaxing slowly and visibly. Frost couldn't help it. As much as their walk was pleasant, after hearing about Fawn's close run-in with death, Frostflight couldn't help but be extra protective. Plus.. he had mentioned that he no longer had mentor... and despite how awful Fawn's mentor had been to him, no mentor meant no training... and no training meant Frost was the most experienced feline here. That was a scary thought!

Fawnpaw's cough seemed to pull Frostflight from whatever worry he had been too focused on, his head tilted in curiosity. "Wha-?" He almost meowed, though quickly the question processed through his brain. "Oh!" A short and sweet moment of recognition! "It's uhm.. well... going slow." The tom admitted with slight embarrassment. "Not much had changed since we last spoke. I haven't been able to take Ravenpaw out to do anything because I just can't find her! I suppose she's being pulled away by chores around camp or other warriors. Weird as it is... I wouldn't doubt it. Maybe she's avoiding me?" His hushed voice was thick with worry as he cast a hesitant glance to the side. "I know our first session wasn't super exciting, but you don't think that would be why? Right?"

Clouddash blue eyes gleamed in concentration as he inspected the brown apprentice's hunters crouch, "Not bad." The gray and white tom mewed padding over to the apprentice, "Don't flick your tail though. One small flick of a tail could alert a mice or vole of your presence." He warned and placed a paw on the apprentice's haunches pushing him down gently, "Keep all your weight on your haunches too it'll help you be much more silent."

Kestrelpaw gave a small nod with a grin, "Okay." he meowed, standing up.
