Twistedkit followed Twilightstar out of the leader's den. Her legs were tired from all the adventures she'd had recently, but she hurried along, not wanting to be left behind. Her unusually long and extremely mangled tail, compared with her little kit-body, made her lurch this way and that; her gait was clumsy. Soft sand clung to her paws, and she was reminded of playing in the sand with Hickorykit, now Hickorypaw. It also made her slip and slide more than usual. Twistedkit was lucky she didn't fall over. Eventually, they reached the nursery. The young kit looked around hopefully, wanting to see if Willowsky was in there. She had to turn her head extra far because she only had one eye she could see out of. The other was cloudy and colorless, with pale gray and white swirling together. Twistedkit hadn't seen her reflection as far as she could remember, but she had an idea of what she looked like. Willowsky talked about it a lot, after all.
Unfortunately, there was no sign of her mother's soft, gray-splotched black fur or gleaming blue eyes. Either way, Twistedkit couldn't see very far into the entrance because they had stopped outside of it. Twilightstar sat down, so the young kit did the same, feeling relieved because her legs weren't so tired anymore. She panted, loosening her jaw so that it hung in a very disturbing way. Twilightstar called for a queen named Fireflame. Twistedkit frowned. She knew the names of every queen and kit in the nursery, and this one was familiar to her. However, she didn't know most of the other cats that well. Fireflame... Ah, yes, the lilac-colored queen! Interesting how she was named that, because Twistedkit had been told that fire was orange, red, and yellow...
Twistedkit's extremely small ears pricked as Twilightstar called her name, beckoning her to sit a bit farther up, next to her. The she-kit scrambled obediently to her paws and went to sit right next to the lilac-gray leader. She righted her jaw, looking up at her with big eyes. It was odd, being given orders without the risk of being nipped. Twistedkit half-expected the leader to yell at her for something, but she didn't know what for, and she kept having to remind herself that Willowsky's behavior was apparently not normal. She's just sick, Twistedkit reminded herself. She's not bad. Willowsky couldn't be bad. Twistedkit loved her so much.
Her mood improved when Twilightstar mentioned friends. "Friends!" she squeaked excitedly. Her voice sounded a bit worse than normal, which was typical right after letting her jaw hang loose. "Hickorypaw and Shattervenom and Laurelpaw!" The three cats flashed through her mind, and the thoughts of them made her excited. They were her friends! They were gonna stay in the nursery with her! They could all play together and have a ton of fun! I wish Willowsky could see me, though, Twistedkit thought. The dark cloud which had drifted away at the reminder of her friends came back. Maybe she'd be happier if she heard of all my fun adventures and saw all the friends I've made!
Fireflame appeared. Twistedkit looked at the queen as she approached, but her gaze was fixed on Twilightstar, not her. The black she-kit wasn't bothered. Was Fireflame nice? Did she nip or yell or shove? If it wasn't normal, then surely she didn't... but Willowsky had done it, so it couldn't be too not-normal? Twistedkit didn't want to interrupt Fireflame and Twilightstar, but she couldn't help herself. The small she-kit rose to her paws and looked up at the lilac-furred queen, tipping her head to one side to see as much as she could out of her good eye. "Hello!" she squeaked; her voice sounded a bit better. "I'm Twistedkit." She wanted to say more, then stopped herself. What if they got mad at her? She could feel the phantom pain in her scruff as she imagined Willowsky nipping her. But these cats didn't do that, right? Twistedkit was excited to meet Fireflame, but she also worried that she had spoken out of turn. The black she-kit ducked her head shyly, peeking out of the corner of her eye due to the curiosity that overtook her. Were they mad at her for speaking, or were they okay with it? Willowsky's behavior and that of her Clanmates' was warring in her mind - they seemed fine when she spoke - , and Twistedkit wasn't sure if they'd be okay or mad.
Twilightstar watched Twistedkit as she grew excited at the prospect of playing with her friend. It would be nice if the kit could just stay happy, but she went through emotions like the ever-changing wind. Twilightstar supposed she should just be pleased that she was asking about Willowsky any longer. She nodded her head in greeting to Fireflame as the queen arrived rather quickly. After Twistedkit said her hello, and took a seat beside her, Twilightstar began explaining the situation to Fireflame.
"Willowsky has become sick and will need to stay in the medicine cat's den with Cowpaw for a bit. I was wondering if you have any spare milk, could you take care of nursing Twistedkit. She's nearly at the age she can be weaned slowly, and start to eat prey." Thinking of prey, she could probably get the kit a mouse or something and see how she takes to eating it after this. Although Twistedkit was probably somewhat tired, she's been moving a lot today. It might be a good idea to have Twistedkit stay here while Twilightstar sought out Twistedkit's friends or her kits instead of dragging the kit around with her.
Noticing that no one objected to the decision, Twilightstar relaxed and took a seat giving her full attention to the kits as they walked up. She could practically see the nervousness rolling the young cats and it brought a smile to her face. Despite all that she's gone through, Twilightstar could still recall her apprentice ceremony as clear as day. As a kit, she had been far less interested and downright aloof when it came to anything to with the clan that didn't involve eating or sleeping. She had to be carried out of the nursery and placed in front of the Breezerock by her brother, and her mother's threat of a sharp cuffing to the ear was the only reason Twilightstar had stayed away through the whole ceremony.
Hmmm, she was glad that the clan's kits didn't turn out like her, or worst, her own kits turn out like her. "You two have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Snowypaw [ @Alchemist Kitsune ] and Berrypaw [ @Spotty ]." The leader gave the two kits a gentle nod of her head before making sure to point out their mentors to them.
"Snowypaw your mentor will be Deadmoon [ @gs29513 ]," Twilightstar waved her tail towards the light brown feline with lame paw. "Berrypaw, your mentor will be Peachfrost [ @Rockfall ]." Her tail swished in the direction of the large cream she-cat with the green eyes. It's about time Deadmoon's gotten some extra responsibility, and hopefully, by training an apprentice again Peachfrost icy heart might thaw a bit.
"Wrenpaw [ @Oobleck ], you are currently the only apprentice in need of a reassignment. Spidersnout [ @SpottedBread ], you'll be taking over Wrenpaw's training from now on. " It was rare to have so little reassignment, she was going to take it as her warriors actually taking their duties a little more seriously.
"I'd like to welcome a few new faces to the clan. Badgerpaw [ @Spirtedwarrior ] will be joining WindClan as a new apprentice. Though I originally worried about how he'd fare within our clan, he's rather determined to put my worries to rest." The young tom has already shown that he'll fit in one way or another with the clan, perhaps he'll make good friends out of Snowypaw and Berrypaw. It was great to see how supportive he was even with just a terrible greeting from one of his new denmates. . "I trust you'll all give him a less prickly welcome than Laurelpaw." She offered Badgerpaw an apologetic smile while reminding herself to deal with that headache after all this. "Badgerpaw, I'll be taking care of your training." Twilightstar had been a bit hesitant at first, considering it's been a while since she's personally training an apprentice, but Badgerpaw's been the first outsider to change her mind about kittypets joining the clan. He wasn't as rambunctious as Stagleech, but he did remind her of her former apprentice in some ways.
"Shiningskies [ @NinjaBloss ], her mate Aspenstrike [ @poppy. ] and their daughter Ivypaw [ @starry ], have decided to join WindClan after leaving ThunderClan due to personal reasons." If her clanmates wanted to ask why they left it was up to them, but since Twilightstar didn't feel like it was detrimental to the clan she wasn't going to share. "Shiningskies will be taking up residence in the nursery as a queen, Aspenstrike will remain a warrior, and Ivypaw for the time being an apprentice." They'd both need hunting lessons, she's assigned one of her warriors to take them out later. With that done, the meeting was dismissed with a flourishing swish of the leader's tail, "Meeting dismissed."
Twilightstar leaped off the Breezerock and padded over to Badgerpaw to touch noises with him properly and then explained. "I have to talk to Laurelpaw so we'll probably be taking her out with us to see the territory, is that alright with you?"
It was gone, it was all gone. It wasn't there anymore, and the whole world felt weird. Walking was weird, off, and her throbbed from crying and throwing up. If she had been in the right mind she would have asked how her brother was doing, but all she could do right now is lean on him as he led them to the medicine cat's den. Lionpaw all but collapsed into the nest, Leechpaw brought her too. She was still so deep in shock, that it felt like her ears were stuffed with cotton. Lionpaw could barely hear a word Leechpaw was saying if he was saying anything to her. Her normally bright orange eyes were glued to the front paws, not daring to look back at the crimson blood drying near her hindquarters where her tail was missing. She'd throw up again. So waited, numb and broken, wishing to be fixed.

Once more the leader's voice called out, capturing Snowkit's attention. The large kit focused on Breezerock, his fur fluffed up as he became a quivering mess, half out of nerves and half out of anticipation. As the leader called out Berrykit's and his new names out a little mreow of joy escaped him as his whiskers twitched. Curling his tail around his paws as the leader looked down to them and gave them a nod he felt the heat of embarrassment run over him. Gratefully, not even that could quell his joy at finally being an apprentice.
At the mention of his mentor's name, his ears flattened for a moment, suddenly feeling overwhelmed. Deadmoon? With a name like that alone, he was certain that this would be a brutal, merciless warrior. The kind that lives on eternally in elder tales and the stories queens tell their misbehaving kits to get them to settle for the night. How would he ever live up to such a warrior's greatness?
Not having much time to let his imagination run wild - or rather wilder - he followed Twilightstar's tail, his eyes landing on a familiar face. The very light brown warrior who had fed him a hare at the nursery and put up with his kit antics - he was an apprentice now, obviously much more mature - was to be his mentor! The first cat who had kindled some sense of duty and had made him think of his future in the clan. Now more than ever he knew that he would strive to not let his mentor down!
Turning to Berrykit... no, Berrypaw as her own mentor was announced, he dipped his head in a quiet, congratulatory nod, not wanting to interrupt the ceremony. He could not, however, suppress the sympathetic purr that escaped him as Twilightstar mentioned Badgerpaw and his earlier squabble. Beaming at the new apprentice, he mouthed a silent congratulations back at him. He wasn't certain if the black and white tom would see him, but between his recent encounter and him being new to the clan, he felt it would be nothing less than rude to do otherwise.
Eventually, the ceremonies were over, and the overgrown ball of fluffy fur he currently appeared to be waddled nervously towards his new mentor, his nerves finally getting the better of him as he finally had his first trip of the meeting. Attempting to avoid the ground with his face, he instead fell flat, his limbs splayed out to all sides as he made his best impression of a starfish. His eyes wide and his ears flat, Snowypaw swore to StarClan in his mind. He had been so close to having a half decent first impression as an apprentice. Perhaps not his finest, but there was definitely an impression left as dust lifted from the ground at the thump.
" i can't wait to see what you learned mybe once you learned some things you could show me i love to watch apprentices and kits do stuff" she says smiling at the kit
Snowykit also stepped forward, which was good since Berrykit wasn't sure she'd have the nerves to just stand up there alone. At least now everyone wouldn't just be looking at her, since she'd be sharing their attention and gaze with Snowykit. Then Twilightstar spoke again, and Berrykit perked and straightened up, her attention resting fully on her leader. From this day on, until you receive your warrior names, you will be known as Snowypaw and Berrypaw. Berrypaw. She was an apprentice now. Berrypaw not Berrykit. It might take a bit to get used to other calling her that, but at least the name was mostly the same still, but the last three letters had changed.
Snowyk..... er, -paw, Snowypaw got Deadmoon as their mentor, and cat who Berrypaw didn't know, but her mentor would be next. Peachfrost. Another cat Berrypaw didn't know, but she had noticed them speak at the topic of the alliance with Riverclan.
She turned away from Twilightstar and the Breezerock to look around for her mentor and quickly returned Snowypaw's congratulation in the form of a smile and a little twitch of her tail, before padding up to her mentor. "Heeeeyyyyy...." She started to how a careful smile but the closer she got the more she realized how large Peachfrost was, they honestly looked a little scary. "Er, so I'm, Berrypaw, uhm, nice to meet you!" Should she have introduced herself? She knew that Peachfrost would have just heard her name like twice, and didn't want to like suggest Peachfrost hadn't been paying attention... or something. She smiled though if a little nervously, so it wasn't like she looked rude or anything.
Shattervenom agreed with everything that Twilightstar said; the WindClan leader was renowned for her mercy and wisdom, and her decree seemed perfectly fair with what Shatter understood. At the end of the day, they all had to take care of their clan and their cats... although, of course, they would stand above all the others when it came to basic compassion.
The tall warrior sat quietly in her spot at the edge of the meeting and awaited the ceremony of Berrykit and Snowykit. She raised her voice up at last to congratulate the young apprentices on the next step of their journey. "Berrypaw! Snowypaw! Welcome to the warrior path!"

Pinepaw glanced to his side. He noticed a small clump of Heather, and lifted them in his tired jaws. He looked up at the sky, his wry eyes brightening in the sun light. He set down the Heather, and groomed himself.

"I went to the Starcave yesterday. I was not in the best of minds, and I thought not to check with you before going. Unbeknown to me, my apprentice, Scalepaw, was following. He got a scare in the Starcave, and fled. He got lost and fell onto a thunderpath where he was hit my a monster. Thankfully, he survived with only a brocken leg and a few scratches. He is with Cowpaw now."
