Fallownose made his way out of the warriors' den, blinking the sunlight out of his eyes before making his way over to the base of the Breezerock. Hopefully, more patrols would report this time, especially the hunting patrols.
"Hawkblaze [ @RiztheHuntress ], remark the ShadowClan Border with Aspenstrike [ @jupiter ] and Flickerpaw [ @Caspian ]. Last time it didn't seem as if ShadowClan had marked it, so let me know if their scent is still stale."
Irispaw heard her name being called for a patrol. A hunting one too. Finally, she was getting placed on one. Bouncing on her paws, she made her way over and glanced around for Ashflight.

Awaking from his sunning spot in the clearing, mildly disgruntled, Hawkblaze hoisted himself to his paws, blinking the sleep from his eyes. Wha? Oh, a patrol. Great.
He gave his pelt a shake and padded forward, dipping his head to Fallownose. He took a seat, and looked around for his patrolmates. "Aspenstrike, Flickerpaw, when you are both ready, we will go," he grumbled, deciding to give himself a wash while he awaited their arrival.

Squirrelear walked over when he heard Fallownose's call, tail moving slowly behind him. Ah, he was to lead a hunting patrol? Hm... While he normally wasn't one to lead, it wouldn't be too bad, right? Especially with just two of them. Hopefully it wouldn't get too complicated or something. Well, he now needed to wait for his hunting pattern, wherever he was.
Twilightstar eye watched her clanmates come and settled beneath the Breezerock one by one. When enough had gathered, she started speaking. "There is much to speak about this meeting, but let's start with apprentice ceremonies first," Twilightstar had made the mistake of holding apprentices ceremonies near the end of the meeting last time and it hadn't had the greatest impact as she had hoped on the clan. The leader was finding that just because she preferred getting the bad news first, didn't mean that everyone was the same.
"Ashkit [ @Ashcloud of WindClan ], Milkkit [ @Wingnettle ], Firekit [ @Darkclaws ], Leafkit, Sunkit [ @The Vast ], Doekit, Moonkit [ @cloudy sky ]." The leader called all seven to the front with an expectant swish of her tail. They had quite the number this meeting. Twilightstar was delighted to have so many kits moving out of the nursery. Her eye caught sight of Badgerpaw nearby, something she's found she's been doing since she's taken him as her apprentice was actively looking around for him when she could. Not that he made it all that hard, Badgerpaw always seemed to make sure he was in her line of sight whenever he was around.
The leader watched Frostpaw glare at the tom and she frown inwardly. She had planned on taking care of them privately, but perhaps informing all of the clan would help more than keeping them in the dark. The older apprentices could do with a little humility, and the clan could do with keeping a better eye out for trouble among their own.

Lynxkit frowned. That is so sad, how could StarClan take them? Lynxkit thought that StarClan was a mean. Bravebird and Barkpaw had clearly been important in the Clan, and didn't StarClan want WindClan to succeed? It all felt a little backward to the kit. Lynxkit didn't tell Twilightstar this though. Instead, he pondered her question. "I guess I know the idea of death," Lynxkit meowed slowly. "Though I don't know all the details. No ever really told me." Lynxkit's head drooped a little. "My mommy Maplecloud left. She didn't tell me any stories about death." If Maplecloud had, maybe Lynxkit would understand why StarClan had taken his Clanmates.
Twilightstar briefly flattened her ears as Lynxkit spoke what little knowledge and understanding he had of death and apparently StarClan. Even though Twilightstar didn't have much faith in the spirits, that didn't mean she wanted the younger generation to follow in her paw steps. Or worse yet, become ignorant. Still, the leader had to think of how to explain this without confusing the young tom.
"I'm sorry that Maplecloud is gone," The leader meowed, noticing how the tom deflated as he spoke of her. "I know that I'm not much, but if you have any questions about anything you can always come to me." The leader knew better than to make a promise that she was always going to be here if he had questions because she knew she wouldn't, but while she was still here she would help him make sense of the world as much as she could.
"Alright, let's see," She meowed, trying to figure out how to explain in kit standers. Twilightstar was slowly learning that explaining stuff to kits was not her forte at all but she was trying. "You said that you got an idea of death, correct? So what is death to you?"

The skittish queen had stationed herself outside of her leaders den. Today, she had three pieces of business to discuss with Twilightstar; moving into the nursery, having another warrior help with Blossompaws training until her kits were old enough, and burying her son. Twilightstar ears shot upwards, well the one and the half of one, as she heard the incoming paw steps outside her den. Her green eye rested on one of her warriors, a nervous one at that.
"Gingerheart, come on in." Twilightstar beckoned the cat inside by kneading her tail over her back before disappearing inside her den presumable to return to her nest. "So what is it that you wanted to speak about?"
Badgerpaw smiled thankfully at his mentor. It brought a certain comfort to him at hearing Twilightstar will do what she could to help Laurelpaw. Of course, Laurelpaw was probably one of the most hard-headed cats in WindClan, but maybe that would help steer her toward a less... violent path. Badgerpaw could only hope it could, but who knows, the tom has hardly ever talked or seen Laurelpaw around camp (then again, he does his best to avoid aggressive cats).
His smile only brightened as Twilightstar continued to speak. Friends were good to have, they could back you up when needed and help you. And his leader was right: friends can become just as close as family. Badgerpaw felt comfort in her words, it was no wonder Twilightstar has been the leader for however long she has. Once the half-blind leader gave him permission to sleep in her den, a gleam of appreciation sparkled in his eyes.
"T-thank you, Twilightstar!" he purred and got up. "I'll be right back, I need to get my nest!"
The tom quickly left the leader's den and came back shortly after, dragging his nest with him. It was a little messy, but nothing he couldn't fix with a bit of dusting with his tail. Once he set his nest next to Twilightstar's, he gently swiped his fluffy tail along the moss's surface, getting rid of the dry moss and the dust that collected on the short walk from the apprentice's den to the leader's. Casting a soft, grateful glance at Twilightstar, Badgerpaw yawned and twitched his whiskers before settling down and getting to sleep.
Well, she had done it and there was no taking it back unless she wanted to break the poor tom's heart. Twilightstar chuckled to herself as Badgerpaw beamed with appreciation at being allowed to sleep in her den. He left and return rather fast with his nest and plopped down next to her own. The leader's noise twitched with the scents that clung to his nest. She was so used to her den and her scent that she had forgotten what it was like to share a den with others and scents mingling together.
Badgerpaw was quick to get himself comfy and quickly fell fast asleep, leaving the leader to adjust to the sleeping apprentice. Yup, this was certainly going to be a change, the quiet that she was so used to in her den was broken by the soft breathing coming from the tom. Twilightstar took some time grooming her pelt before she shifted around in her nest and laid down, shutting her eyelids.

Doekit looked around, nudging her siblings with her tail. She wondered who her mentor was going to be, and felt a twinge of sadness knowing it wouldn't be Cowpaw. She scampered forward to stand before the Breezerock.

Moonkit had a big smile as he padded forward. He was glad that he would be an apprentice alongside his best friend and his denmates.

Willowsky had been curled up in her nest with her back facing the entrance to the nursery when a paw tapped her on the shoulder. She huffed in annoyance and turned around to give Cowpaw a piece of her mind because she had told him to go away but stopped when she saw Twilightstar. The queen frowned as she was ordered to go to Cowpaw's den and slowly stood. "Why exactly do I need to go to the medicine cats' den? I'm not sick," Willowsky grumbled as she shot a glare at Cowpaw. He had tattled on her to the leader because he couldn't do his damn job and speak like a normal cat. If she were forced to stay with him, she would make it as painful as possible for the apprentice.
Cowpaw attempted to offer Willowsky a small smile, nodding in agreement with Twilighstar's statement. He didn't have anything to input to the conservation as the queen had already proved her determination to ignore him. He prepared to lead the way, but Willowsky had other interests.
Oh!! She was staring at him!! Ooh, that was a scary stare. Cowpaw tilted his head in confusion, his floppy ears lowering slightly. He lifted a splotched paw to tap his own head, as if to offer an explanation to her. Cowpaw wasn't entirely sure how to explain that this was less of a physical issue and a more.. mental issue.
Shifting the weight to his left leg, he looked to Twilightstar to see what she was going to say and perhaps, what he should do... He was kind of,, just standing here.
Twilightstar wasn't really certain how Cowpaw managed to handle the blatant disrespect Willowsky was showing him. It took a few seconds for her to realize that the tom didn't seem to understand that Willowsky was being beyond rude to him. Was he just too young or that naive? He was going to have to learn to stick up for himself or at least notice stuff like this one of these days or cats were going to walk all over him. Although knowing Cowpaw and how genuinely sweet and caring he was, the tom had probably made a number of friends and allies who do the standing up for him, as Twilightstar was going to do now.
"Willowsky, I know that he's young, but you'd do well to remember that Cowpaw is WindClan's medicine cat and that he deserves respect. Mind yourself." The leader shot a razor-sharp glare in the queen's direction in a warning. It was rare Twilightstar had to deal with problems like this, most of the cats in her clan were all that difficult to handle. She had trouble with the mess of toms when she had first started off as leader, she still could recall Coldsong and Foxpudge consistent back and forth along with her former medicine cats Coyostesnarl and Mistyfern. Currently, Willowsky had nothing on them.
"We'll let you know when we get there, now come along," Twilightstar made sure that her words come out in a firm order over a suggestion. She doubted Willowsky wanted to discuss this in front of the entire nursery, Cowpaw's den was far more private to an extent. Twilightstar twitched her ear, allowing Cowpaw to lead the way, she'd follow behind and make sure Willowsky was actually coming with. If the Queen was always this snippy with high ranks, she could understand why Twistedkit was getting nipped.
