Re: RiverClan Territory

Oakbranch decided to not bring the topic of the tom's conversation up, though she never intended to offend them as much as she apparently did. Instead she turned her focus on the fish approaching the shore of the river, a carp, this time within striking distance. The stout brown tabby waited till the right moment to strike the water, pulling the fish out with her claws and swiftly killing it on the shores.
Turning her attention to the twolegs and their dogs, she mewed "usually twolegs have their dogs under control," she paused for a moment, assessing their distance. "lets see if we can catch a few more fish before leaving, and if we can we should warn the other patrols of the dogs," she continued looking at their promising start to a good hunting patrol.
(I hope yall don't mind me doing this but I am basically going to make the plot: everyone caught another fish each and oak calls the patrol off a bit short because they still heard the dogs and whatnot but on the way back the dogs attack. We can rp this out but it might be a bit uneventful and perhaps a bit repetitive to the posts already done.)

“You’re doing fine, don’t worry.” Willowwings mewed quietly, keeping an eye on her new clanmate, ready to haul her to the river’s bank in a moments notice. “Try to relax, just focus on keeping your paws churning and let me know when you’re ready to get out and try fishing.” She said slowly, knowing that Leopardblaze, who was not accustomed to swimming, would soon tire as she worked her muscles in a way they had not been worked before. Leopardblaze most likely had the powerful definition that most Skyclan cats had, from their lifetime of leaping through the trees, but swimming focused more on all the muscles in the body, rather than focusing the stress in one area.

Leopardblaze listened to the molly, taking in slower breathes to calm herself. She flicked her ear as droplets of water clung to the edges, her paws churning beneath the water. She was able to keep her head out of the water, which was something. Even though she was quite used to using her muscles to climb trees and leap from branches, swimming was different. She felt all her muscles begin to burn slightly as she tread water, though she was feeling slightly more comfortable about being in the water. She didn't want to exhaust herself before their training session had ended so she meowed, careful not to let water into her mouth, " I think I'm ready to get out."

Willowwings nodded, leading the Skyclan cat out and onto the river bank to give her a rest. It would do no good for her relationship with the new cats if she accidentallly drowned one of them.
As they crouched on the bank, Willowwings shook her fur, feeling the water seem to simply slide off, a handy result of a main diet of fish, and she turned to Leopardblaze, her blue eyes bright as she inquired, “Do you want to try fishing now?” Willowwings gestured toward the river once more.
(Sorry writer’s block.)

Leopardblaze climbed onto the riverbank, mud sliding in between her toes ever so slightly making her shift her weight uncomfortably. After resting for a bit she looked over at Willowwings nodding, "Yes, I think I'll have a go." Water dripped off of her chin as she looked back to the water, beads of water trailing down her whiskers. "It's almost like being an apprentice again, learning something new," she meowed, amused at the thought.
(It's okay)

Willowwings flicked an ear at the molly’s remark, she would have hated to be in the other cat’s position, even if Leopardblaze were to teach her Skyclan’s skill, leaping through the trees, the struggle wouldn’t be as great. Every cat could jump, Skyclan excelled at it, and could jump higher and farther than most, but only Riverclan cats swam. Their bodies were made for it, webbed paws, sleek body structures, it was woven into who they were.
Standing to sit beside the river, the molly began giving instructions, “Sit so that your shadow doesn’t fall upon the river, that will scare the fish away.” She meowed, demonstrating as she continued, “Then wait for a fish to come along, and slip your paw into the water, hooking your claws onto the fish and pull it out onto the bank.” Without another word, the molly flashed her paw into the water, sinking her claws into a trout and yanking it out onto the shore before pouncing onto it and killing it with a bite before it could escape.
“Like that.”

Leopardblaze watched the Riverclan molly with curious bright green eyes, listening intently to what she had to say. The spotted she-cat watched closely as Willowwings demonstrated her technique to catching a fish. She watched in amazement as the molly pulled out a trout from the water, her eyes sparkled with excitement. After a moment she began trying to copy what the Riverclan warrior had done. "Wow!... Okay so like this?" she meowed, carefully positioning herself so that she wouldn't cast a shadow across the water, looking over at the molly for approval before continuing. Then with her outstretched paw, she slowly dipped it into the water, her claws tingling with excitement. After several moments she felt the slick skin of a fish brush against her paw. She attempted the hook her claws into the fish, but her paw merely surfaced dripping wet with no fish.
"Mouse-dung," she muttered, flicking her ear. "I suppose I should try again," she chirped, feeling more determined to get one than before.
After a moment she added, "I know it must be at least a little strange how willing I am to do all these things, when some of my other clanmates are much less willing to do so... I'm used to change I guess I should say, or at least adapting to it." She hesitated slightly before continuing," I wasn't born into the clan like most cats, just so happening to stumble into a clans territory when I was injured. When I decided to fully join Skyclan I was very determined to do everything in my power to prove that I would be just as capable as any clan born cat. This has helped to make me who I am, willing to try new things and do my very best." She looked at her paws for a moment slightly embarrassed that she probably bored this cat to death giving her, her life story. "Sorry... I didn't mean to make this awkward for you if it did," she meowed quietly.

@ RedHead
(That's fine with me!)
"Yes, I agree," Eagleflight nodded. He knew they'd have to hurry up to avoid confrontation with the twolegs and their yapping, lumbering pet, and he let out a quiet growl of annoyance at having to cut his hunt short. He crouched back by the riverside and waited for another fish to swim his way. He wondered if the dog would give them any trouble.
After he'd caught another fish, he went to have a glance at the twolegs out on the sand. That dog doesn't have that twine attached to it! It's loose!
he realized, suddenly aware that the situation might become more of an issue than anticipated. He dropped his fish onto their growing pile and went back to join the other two cats. "We ought to get moving before that thing catches our scent," he spoke warily, his neck fur bristling.

He shook the thought quickly- no one would dare face a clan cat, surely not one as menacing and unapproachable as himself- alone.
"You had better come with me then, I suppose," He growled, picking her up by the scruff without another word and, taking a last second to observe their surroundings, heading back towards camp.

Shell let out a squeak as Salmonstrike picked her up by her scruff. Her front legs struggled to move, wanting to be put down. After a while of struggling she realized he wasn't going to put her down. She went limp and looked at her surroundings. "Where are we going?", she asked, calmly.

Risingsun nodded along, agreeing with the other two as he scooped a second fish out of the water with practiced ease. Though his ears instantly perked up as he heard Eagleflight’s observation.
He turned golden eyes to look towards the scent, spotting the loose dog sniffing about the bushes not too far away. His fur bristled in worry, and he quickly brought his catch over to where Oakbranch and Eagleflight were standing. “He’s right, we should get a move on. The brute is loose. And I smell Twolegs, but they aren’t close enough to deal with the dog.” He kept his eyes on the large animal all the while, keeping his voice low as to not alert it of their position. They had to leave now if they wanted to avoid being scented. The dog was getting closer.

"Mousedung, I thought we had more time! Pick up as many fish as you can and run!" Oakbranch picked up her catch and started running, though not a straight line to camp. "don't run directly to camp, the last thing we want is leading these dogs there!" her yowl muffled by the fish dangling from her mouth.
Maybe it was her mewing that brought the dog to her attention or maybe she was just unlucky but she felt something bight down on her shoulder. The prey she caught went flying out of her maw as she started fearfully scratching at the attackers slobbering face.
