Hmph. Lionstar wasn't impressed by this failure of a patrol, and he was sure the disappointment he radiated was palpable. "I'll let you deal with Petuniapaw when you find her. She's normally fairly good about her duties." He figured she likely got cold paws, knowing they were looking for a cat that could be dead. "What's the question."

Sensing the disappointment BrambleBlaze gave a slow nod. Then her ears perked up " about lambdream....has there been a patrol sent for her yet? If so what was reported back? She couldn't just have left..." .

Lambdream...? If Lionstar hadn't dealt with her being an enemy sympathizer, he wouldn't have even recognized the name.

"Brambleblaze, you're chasing after ghosts. Lambdream disappeared completely before I even became leader, but she was never one to maintain a strong Clan presence, was she?" Lambdream had a habit of disappearing even before her final one: she came and went like a breeze, and now it seemed her reign of inactivity was at a final end.

"No one could find her scent. She vanished after she decided to jump to ShadowClan's defense, and I can't say I miss her. I wouldn't be surprised if she ran off to join that gang of heathens and was killed."

Ugh, why'd she have to bring up that pest? Lionstar was happier when Brambleblaze hadn't brought up a cat the Clan was better off without.

wait......what!?!! Her eyes widened in complete shock. "i...I .." she folded her ears back. "your not wrong about that..." she sighed. but why!?! Maybe my mentor was right..
Tail twitching " i see..... thank you for the information .." she struggled to say. " if this is all . Am I dismissed ?" . it doesn't even sound like he gives rats tail about her...but for her to just be like that? It doesn't make any sense ....

Lionstar wasn't oblivious to her sudden shift in mood, and he leaned in, more gently. "Put her to rest in your mind, Brambleblaze. Five moons is too long to linger on a cat who was hardly involved in our Clan. You're much better than that, and you deserve more than someone who's presence I can count on my toes.

"Get to know our current Clan-mates." He nodded to the outside of his den. "There's plenty of cats for you to get to know, we're the largest Clan in the forest. Now, I'm not saying you should disregard your relationship with that cat.. but you need to open your mind to other opportunities to heal and move on. You're stuck in the past, but we're in the future.

"You are dismissed, and I hope you at least consider my words."

Again,even more shock at hearing the amount of time. She was starting to get a bit of that rebellious attitude as he continued speaking . But she decided it be best to stay silent. it's hard to just...let go you know.. she wished she could say that but instead " I'll try....thank you. " . but do I actually deserve anyone else??? Hearing the dismissal she stood and waved her tail in goodbye as she headed to leave.

It wasn’t long before Sootflare returned with Foxkit on his heels. Knowing the kit was exhausted, he nudged her forward - the motion gentle but firm nonetheless. Exhausted or not, she needed to face the consequences of her actions and that meant facing Lionstar.

“Lionstar? Foxkit, as requested.”

Foxkit looked around for a moment searching for her leader. After a while of not seeing him she curled up at the blood cats feet dogs could wake her up when he arrived. She didn’t want to seem uninterested when he got her. Oh how she wished she could rest.

Lionstar returned to his den with an angry little huff, smoldering gaze landing on the kit curled at Sootflare's paws.

"Foxkit." His voice was low. "I almost wished Sootflare left you abandoned in the territory. Maybe another night in the cold would have taught you common sense."

His gaze lifted to rest on Sootflare. "Take her back to the nursery. Tell Sugarapple that for the next half-moon, Foxkit can not leave the den without Sugarapple's permission and she needs to stay within the sights of the clearing. Her apprentice ceremony is going to be pushed back another half-moon as well.

"Foxkit, if we find out you've left the camp again you can forget coming back. I have enough stupid kits in this Clan-- I don't need more."

It was harsh, but reality: if these kits couldn't listen to the simple order of 'remain in camp', Lionstar didn't really want them in his Clan.

Foxkit looked up at the leader and could do nothing more than nod and walk out to go to the nursery. She understood Lionstar’s anger, he truly did have too much on his plate. She hoped the blood cat would help with that, maybe then Lionstar could take a run through his territory. It was enough to make her happy at least. Even if she was punished, she was glad she saw what she did. And she found her answer.
