“Did I hear my brother mention family?” Vinetail messed up Splitmeadow’s fur with her paw. “Hi there! I’m Vinetail, this furball’s lesbian sister! Who are you? I don’t think we’ve met before.”

Vinetail laughed and smoothed her chest fur. “Well alright. Can’t your big sister just say hi to her little brother and his…mate? Crush? I honestly don’t know.”

Dewkit was doing, for the most part, okay in the chill. They were busy playing with a ball of moss, pretending it was a rabbit. After accidentally faceplanting, they sat up to groom their semi-dirty fur. As they did so, Dewkit watched Darkfire, Splitmeadow and Vinetail talk. They wondered how disruptive it would be if they pounced on one of their tails. Surely the tails provide better practice than some moss.

Dewkit's ear flicked up at Splitmeadow's voice. They snatched up the moss ball, not about to forget it and lose it. They lopsidedly ran over to the three adult cats, nearly crashing into them. Dewkit sat down, still carrying the moss in their mouth.

Vinetail saw the kit racing over to her. “You must be Dewkit! I’m Vinetail, your aunt. Wanna play a game?”

Darkfire chuckled as Vinetail came up. He decided he liked her, her sense of humor was very similar to his. His mismatched eyes gleamed with mischief as she ruffled his fur, and he gave Vinetail a crooked smirk. “Well it’s nice to meet ya. And yeah, I’m Splitmeadow’a mate.” He smiled softly as Dewkit came running over, and he went to steady the kit as he came hurtling over. “Whoa, careful there, don’t wanna hurt yourself.” He said, flicking his tail.
