Cowpaw was going to bury himself into the ground like a little mole. That seemed like a keen idea. He wanted to disappear from the entire Earth completely. It only took an oh for him to feel a deep sense of regret. As he could only focus how feminine his voice sounded and his mannerisms. A sickness filled his stomach. Clearly, Cowpaw was beginning to avert his gaze. Berrypaw was not at fault, oh stars, no. .. Sometimes, his head was very mean. Very, very mean.
He took in a deep breath, nodding his head. "Ookay-dokie,, uhm,, sorry about,, that,, " Cowpaw winced, this was not one of his best attempts at comforting. Far from it. Maybe his worse. "You,, you should be fine to go and rest in your own nest.. " He nodded his head up and down, still using gestures as he spoke. "But,, if it begins to bother you,, p,,please let me know.."

At this point, Cowtuft had a natural reflex to always jerk from where he was at the moment he heard pawsteps. There were times it was a visitor - and he felt a little embarrassed, but during the situations where there was blood on his floor with a trembling cat; he was grateful. The tom took one glance at the apprentice on the floor, and he was rushing into his storage den.
Cowtuft didn't reply to the warrior, too focused on stopping the small cat's bleeding than anything. He grabbed a bundle of cobwebs and mushrooms, ducking back into his den. His heart thumping against his chest as time was at the essence. It was only when he came rushing over, properly see who it was - Ashpaw. (The scar across her right eye said everything. ) Oh.
.. Cowtuft dropped his herbs, ears flattening to his head. He lifted a paw to gently press it against Ashpaw's neck, sadness taking place on his face. He slowly lifted his head to Wingdapple. "I.. am sorry but.. she lies with Starclan now.. I will get... her ready for burial... please.... make it known to the clan.. she has.. passed.." Cowtuft gestured.

Aah.. the Medicine cat was still unsure on what further acts he should take; if any. There had never quite been a situation that he had to deal with a head injury. Scalepaw, yes, but Cowtuft understood there was nothing he could've done with the memory loss. Only, he worried if it was safe for Stumpypoppy to rest. Then again, how could he heal without rest?
A quiet sigh escaped from him, but he shook his head. While the warrior was still not .. quite there, he had formed a full sentence. A proper full sentence and there seemed to be no severe complaints of pain. His stub tail was acting, a little .. strange but, ,, .. he didn't believe Stumpypoppy was at risk for falling asleep and not.. waking up.
Cowtuft smiled, "I .. am glad.. The seeds should make you sleepy.. Why don't... you take a little rest..?" He prompted using gestures. Knowing that the warrior was unlikely to grasp what he had said, he would bend down and rest his head. Eyes flickering close, mimicking a fake rest. Then, he sat back up and pointed to Stumpypoppy.

Cowtuft looked to Fallownose gratefully, as he had been wanting to not leave Ferretkit's side. He gave a small nod of his head, letting the deputy know if wanted he could be dismissed now. There was little either of them could do besides wait by Ferretkit's side and see what would happen.
The medicine cat was relieved to see the tiny kit drank the water, and not wishing to upset him by pushing the herb on him; he left the borage by the edge of Ferretkit's nest. He would move a bit to be by the kit's side. His feathery tail curling around himself.

"Twigkit? ..T..twigkit?" Cowtuft spoke softly, ears lowering with intense fear that vibrated through him as the small kit coughed violently in front of him. "Oohh, come here.. come here dear... let's sit you up.. can you do that..? You are so strong, so very strong -" He cooed, attempting to swiftly scoop Twigkit into his arms; desiring to prop him up and help his breathing. Stars. He would never understand how swift one could be there and simply be there.
"Twigkit.. little one.. li..little on..e?" His voice croaked, eyes widening with shock as he watched his chest come to a stop. It did not rise again, their was not a flicker of life in the tiny, tiny kit in front of him. Cowtuft blinked back tears, "Ooh baby, baby, baby, " He sniffled, leaning down to softly lick Twigkit's forehead. In the mist of the day, the gentle giant cradled him with as much love his tiny body could hold.
It was clear that Twigkit had been sick with the dreaded snow-fever; which meant there could be no public funeral nor burial for the small child. How cruel, how cruel. He would inform the family of Twigkit later on, after he has done burying him. However, in this moment he mourned the loss of another life. Such, such a small life. A light that was put out far, far too soon..

A yelp escaped from Cowtuft when cats came tumbling into his den. There was no time to think, scrambling out of his nest and surely kicking a few things around. There was a stumble, and he swore he was going to face-plant but luckily, was able to catch himself. There was blood, he knew of that. He skidded into his storage, grabbing as much as he could carry. Yellow bells, cobwebs, mushrooms, poppy seeds. So many items. They were practically falling from his grasp when he came back.
Cowtuft made a worry squeaked, gently stomping his paws against the ground. A sign for those nearby to give him enough space to treat in case they were hovering.
He swiftly sat his herbs down, eyes examining the rooms the apprentice in front of him carried. Goodness, what had happened? He chewed the yellow bells into a poultice while applying mushrooms to the heavily bleeding areas to encourage clotting. Removing them once they had fulfilled their use, Cowtuft carefully applied the yellow bells against the gashes and other wounds.
A small hiss came from him, wincing at all the wounds the apprentice carried. He wasn't even sure who they were, the severe injuries keeping him from piecing any recognition at all. At the rate, the gentle giant offered two poppy seeds to them before continuing on what he was doing. There appeared to be a crushed tail, a broken leg, and .. a missing right eye. Right. Right.
He wrapped cobwebs around the wounds, soaking up any remaining blood. Cowtuft rose to his paws, mind reeling. He wasn't sure what to do with the ,,, more severe wounds. Though, he did have a basic idea on how to create a splint. He went back into his storage, pulling out two sticks, burnet, even more cobwebs, and moss. Then, he settled right back down the apprentice's side.
Cowtuft offered the burnet to them, hopeful it would offer the needed strength for his clanmate to pull throw. Turning to the severe areas, he would make a makeshift split with sticks; padded by moss and held in place by cobwebs. He repeated this process for both their crushed tail and their broken leg.
With a final sigh of relief, "Rest, " He gestured to them, turning back to the cats that had brought this apprentice in. Cowtuft tilted his head, raising a brow and clearly wishing for answers on what in the Starclan's heavens occurred.

With the nests being taken up, including his own; Cowtuft had taken to leaning against walls and taking quick, power nests. If able, he would slump down, curling into a tight ball. With so many sick cats around him, it was a wonder if he could a lick of sleep through everything. (He.. really couldn't, not quite but he made do. ) Cowtuft was grateful to have not woken up in any.. awkward positions due to his sleep wandering.
Which was what he had been doing. Catching a few zzz's while he was not needed. A small defiant murmur came from him when he heard someone calling his name. It sounded so, so far away. Though, when he realized the reality of the situation; eyes snapped awake, his body jolting to a sitting position. Cowtuft took in a sharp breath, blinking away the sleep that drifted. Ahh. Duty calls!
Rising to his paws, he approached .. well, uhm, a warrior. He was assuming due to their size. A soft, tired smile flashed across his face. Believing this was to be someone sick, again, or a helper. It was only with a quick whiff and looking at the clear injury on.. ah, with the dainty body build and tan markings .. was this Dappledbreeze? It must be, either that or Brightkit but, for obvious reasons; too large.
"No.. trouble at all.." Cowtuft gestured, jerking his head in the direction of the exit of his den. "Do.. you mind if we head out there..? Out of the quarantine zone.. I will grab my herbs and.. I can treat you properly.. there.."

MOTHPAW
fluffy cream feline with a stumpy tail and green eyes. current pronouns: they/them
Mothpaw was perched near the apprentice's den, ready to move at the slightest need for help. Their tail flicked and they looked up toward Twilightstar, not moving from their spot but ears perking to listen.
Swiftheart's tail-tip flicked as he took his place in the meeting.
Rabbiteye flattened his ears and watched.
Brightkit joined, though this was still not the meeting for her apprentice ceremony.

Tumblebreath quickly padded over, shaking his body to hopefully shake away some of the leftover frost and chill cursing in his bones. He sat underneath the Breezerock, staring up at Twilightstar with big, interested eyes. For once he had sat himself at the front, perhaps to get away from any possible sick cats. A twinkle in his eye lingered, for he was too busy thinking of ways to help, if he could help even.

This was his first meeting after his returning to Windclan. The small cream-colored tomcat looked up to Twilightstar on the Breezerock, silently worried for the health of their deputy who wasn't present right now. Cowtuft wasn't here, either. I wonder what she'll announce today? Maybe some new apprentices? Some reassignments?
Oh, how much he'd missed those daily, boring tasks. His old routine.
In the meanwhile, he looked around for his friends. A sudden pang of sadness hit him as he remembered Leafpaw wouldn't be by his side anymore, just like Doepaw. I just... need to listen. And focus. In this way, everything would be good. Everything would work again, somehow. It has to.

Milkpaw quickly sneaked into the den called Kit Corrals for the first time, watching in wonder the sunlight filter from the vine ceiling and the soft sand that lined the ground. It seemed comfortable and was relieved to see that only two other young cats would join in. He surely didn't like crowds.
"Hi, Twilightstar. Littlekit, Moorpaw." He greeted everyone with a soft, shy voice and dipped his head to the Windclan leader with respect. I have so many questions. What did happen before Fallownose and Twilightstar? And what role did Blackscar play in the clan before I was even born? Finally, today everything would be hopefully cleared out.
