Twilightstar smiled warmly as a number of cats stepped up for patrols. She was hoping this would bring the clan together, the leader was always worried that somehow, someway, one of these deaths would be one too many for the clan and they'd fall apart again. The idea of WindClan returning to what it was before her leadership was quite frightening.
Noticing the huge tom lurking in the background coming forth, Twilightstar briefly glanced at Batglare before turning her attention the leader's green eye danced over to Cowtuft as he began signing. She always needed to hyperfocus on him when he was signing lest she misinterprets something.
"If you're certain you're fine on herbs then I don't mind you accompanying the patrol for decor. Dapplebreeze why don't you lead the patrol for decorations? You can take Cowtuft, Mottledfur, Adderstrike, and Goldenpaw. You can bring whatever you find straight to Juniper Rest."
@Alchemist Kitsune @x ghostie @ameko @Brightstorm☆ @xSagefeatherx
"Batglare, you can lead a hunting patrol with Mothpaw, Rookscreech, and Dreambreeze. Asterblink, if you and your apprentice want to tag along you can join the hunting patrol." Twilightstar was sure between both the senior warriors' dedication they'd make sure both patrols brought something back to camp.
@Shade. @lio @mira3le @RunningInTheHeather
The old tom who was assigned to hunting duty snorted loudly and lashed his tail. Batglare shot a dull look at the cats who'd be accompanying him and growled low in the back of his throat. "Let's go." He grumpily made his departure without actually waiting for any of the cats in his hunting patrol.
Running her paws over her fur to smooth her tortie-Bengal mixed fur, Storm tried to make herself look presentable. Her breathing was shaky from nervousness and fear still pulsing through her from almost having to go back to the group with her father. Right now, she could be being screamed at, she could be being hurt. Storm took a deep breath and reminded herself that she had made the right decision to leave. She knew that she deserved better than to be treated poorly and that she was strong enough to get away.
She looked up at the Queen of Winds, and shivered slightly. This cat was important, she could feel it. This cat radiated a sort of motherly feeling that she really wasn't used to, but that didn't mean that she was nice. Fallownose wouldn't bring her here if it wasn't safe. She tried to trust the deputy, but found herself cowering beside him, pressing her aching side to his slate gray side, blinking at the ground as Fallownose explained her problem. She didn't feel the need to explain the exact lengths of her father's cruelty- the new purple and fading yellow bruises adorning her body were very clearly screaming what had happened for her. She was glad to be free, but she also feared the consequences of speaking out and escaping against her abusive parents.
Looking up at Fallownose and trying to gather strength from his gentle smile, she met eyes with the Clan's Queen, a strange look of maturity and knowledge in the young kit's eyes that didn't match her tiny, beaten down child exterior. Like she had seen enough to fast forward her childhood. The young kit's gaze seemed to hold a deep understanding of the world beyond her years, as if she had experienced more than any kit should. It was a sign that even in the midst of violence and chaos, innocence could still be found in unexpected places. She cradled her dried up mossball, clinging to both it and her contact with Fallow for support. "I promise I'll be good." She choked out, licking her lips anxiously, not able to gather any other words or promises, it was all she could do to keep her eyes locked on the lilac leader's gaze before dropping it back down to her mossball, stroking it with quivering, nervous paws. The silence that followed was suffocating, and she felt like she was drowning in her own fear and desperation. She prayed that the leader would understand the gravity of her situation and offer a place in the Clan for her.
Twilightstar's eye widen a fraction as Fallownose brought news of another abused kit. It would continue to baffle the leader as to why cats had kits if they weren't going to shower them in love and affection. The leader's gaze was drawn to the young tortie that stepped into the den behind him, sporting alarming markings upon her little body. She had a little ball of moss with her. Twilightstar assumed she used it for comfort. They'd have to find her a new one, her ball looked like it would come a part at any given second.
"Whether you're good or bad, violence shouldn't ever be a part of a kit's upbringing." Twilightstar meowed quietly with a twitching tail. Twilightstar couldn't say she liked the aged glint in the kit's eyes, she's seen it in a very rare few as kittens. It made life far harder to enjoy when young; as if all the innocence had been sucked out of their souls. "If you want to stay in WindClan, I welcome you with open paws," Twilightstar told the kit. She's never turned away kits before if she could avoid it. "I'll need to know your name." She meowed in a soothing tone and then looked to her deputy.
"Ensure that the patrols have a description of this tom, I don't want him on our territory let alone anywhere near her." She waved a paw towards the kit. "Have you spoken to any of the queens? I would like to have someone look after her in the nursery. I don't want another situation like Twistedpaw, the poor soul."

Perhaps Windclan wasn't free from their struggles; with the cure found, he couldn't promise everyone would make a full recovery but now there was a chance for recovery. Lightningpaw was his apprentice.
He ducked his head into the den, glancing around for his beloved leader. A small squeak came from him, an attempt to garner attention. His tail curled up over his hindleg, taking a seat. "I have.. wonderful.. wonderful news to share.." Cowtuft begun, eyes twinkling with glee. "Lightningpaw and I .. have discovered the cure for snow-fever after Fallownose.. delivered a prophecy to I.. [For some reason I did not notice you post this, ghostie.]
Twilightstar lifted her head as her medicine cat came wandering into her den, exhaustion plaguing him. She felt terrible seeing him so out of sorts as he was, she silently hoped he brought news that would give him some time to actually rest. The glee in his eyes and words brought some mirth to her gaze as he spoke about Lightingpaw, Fallownose, and him finding a cure to this accursed sickness.
"That is great news." Twilightstar purred loudly, feeling a touch of dread falling from her shoulders. The news about Lightingingpaw becoming his apprentice was grand. Lightningpaw has always been a bright, mature, and caring child with a bit of spunk to keep the clan on their toes. Twilightstar was sure that she'd make a wonderful medicine cat in the future. With StarClan's clear approval, Twilightstar wasn't sure how she'd be breaking the news to her son that he'd be losing another apprentice. She'd deal with it when the time came.
"I'll inform the clan at the next meeting, I'm glad that it all worked out and that you'll have someone to aid you with your medicine cat duties. You've been on your own for longer than most, switching ranks at such a young age, and taking responsibility for the entire clan's health under your paw. I've never doubted you, but I can't say I've never worried about you. You've had your trials, but you've grown and flourished into an amazing medicine cat, Cowtuft. I know you'll train Lightingingpaw to be equally as great." The she-cat purred warmly as she got up to give the large tom an affection headbutt. "Do me a favor and get some rest, even if it's just a small nap."
The ginger she-cat hesitantly padded into Twilightstar's den, her tail flicking back and forth nervously. "Twilightstar? If you're busy I can come back later, but there was something I wanted to talk to you about. Or ask you. Or... I don't know," she sighed, not entirely sure how to explain what she was feeling.
Oh, now there was a voice she hasn't spoken to in a while. Twilightstar beckoned Shiningskies into her den by kneading her tail slightly over her back. The leader offered the nervous she-cat a gentle and inviting smile of reassurance. "Even if I'm busy I'll always make time for my clanmates." She trilled sweetly. "What is it that you need, Shiningskies."
"I was on a hunting trip," Goldenpetal meowed. "And I went too deep into the territory. I'm sorry, Twilightstar, it won't happen again."
@Moonraven
Twilightstar scowled at the response to her question. "A hunting trip and you got lost in the territory? Goldenpetal, that simply tells me that you do not know your own territory, something that was supposed to be learned as an apprentice, at all. I'll have to demote you and have you go on another territory tour with a warrior." She paused there waiting to see what the she-cat would say.
MOTHPAW
fluffy cream feline with a stumpy tail and green eyes. he/they + neos
Ah, a hunting patrol? Mothpaw didn't have much experience in hunting, but he was sure he could do it. With his father's training and the little training as an apprentice he had done, Mothpaw was surely able to do at least something. They didn't want Twilightstar to be disappointed in them, after all. Or anyone, for that matter. So, the cream-colored apprentice looked around for their patrol members, spotting Batglare and silently following after him. He moved his legs as speedily as possible, walking quickly to catch up.
Decorations for Juniper's Rest? Why, if that was to be her task, she would ensure they would find the best decor they could find. The former queen gave a demure smile before nodding, accepting the task. With a sizeable patrol of volunteers, she was certain they would find what they needed in no time. Why, even the stars would envy the radiance of their fallen clanmates' final rest once they were done. Turning towards the rest of the volunteers, the patched warrior flicked her tail, a silent gesture for them to gather so they could be on their way. Mismatched ears perked up, however, as she realized the medicine cat himself would be in this patrol. Marvelous. No doubt the patched tom knew the best places to gather flowers from his own herb patrols? And with him in tow, they would no doubt avoid gathering from blooms that would be best used on his stores!
"Alright dears. You heard Twilightstar. Let's ensure we do our very best for those no longer with us, and for those most touched by their losses. Cowtuft, darling," the soft furred molly mewed, turning her attention on the gentle giant as she questioned him. "I was thinking a good walk around the territory, by the stream perhaps, could net us some lovely flowers. I trust you more experience on the matter, however. If you have any suggestions, then I'm sure we would all be more than happy to follow."
Adderstrike sat down and awaited the white and grey coated she-cat's commands, Adder wasnt the best on leading anithing so she was relieved to have someone else to lead the patrol.

[COLOR="black" [/COLOR]. Ah, a hunting patrol? Easy enough! Dreambreeze followed the departing cats, trying to keep up “ Shouldn't we, ya know wait for the others?” She suggested.
Mottledfur padded over to Dapplebreeze and the rest, flicking her tail as a sort of 'hello'. She had heard her mention where they might go to Cowtuft, and she had no qualms about that. It seemed like a wonderful place to gather decorations in honor of her fallen clanmates. A bolt of pain shot through her heart for a second as she remembered. It was far too soon for anycat to die in the clan, but she shook the sadness from her pelt. It's not my choice to make, she reminded herself, They're in Starclan's hands now.
"Are we looking for any decorations in specific?" Her question was directed toward everyone who might have an answer, "Any color or type of flower, perhaps?"
