Gem padded after him, eyes darting between Shadow and their surroundings. She wanted to make sure he was alright, but at the same time she couldn't help but admire the outdoors. "The snow sure makes everything a lot prettier," she commented.

Gem looked over at Shadow, sure now that something was up. "Alright, as soon as we get to your house you're telling me what's going on," she meowed firmly. "And there'll be not 'but's about it!" She picked up the pace a bit, eager to get her friend to warmth.

Shadow was about to argue, but thought against it as they came to the backyard of his house.

Gem frowned. "I don't think so, maybe your twolegs should take you to the vet," she suggested, sniffing him again. "Shadow, you smell ill." It's more serious than he's letting on. Her gaze swept over him, trying to see anything that would let on to how much pain he was hiding. "It's not good to pretend you're not sick," she added, hoping to get him to spill.
