Oh dear. There were other cats in the apprentice’s den. Of course. It was raining outside, the reason why all the apprentices were cranky and in need of entertainment. Gentlepaw was only supposed to be having a quiet afternoon in the apprentice’s den by herself. She gave a small sigh then looked at the squabbling apprentices longingly. She wondered why she was afraid to talk to them. That’s why she never had any friends.. never mind, there was more to think about.

Gentlepaw watched as Shadowfur was walking to two warriors bickering over a rabbit. She chuckled softly, her brown eyes glinting. Her clanmates often fought over such mousebrained things. Her gaze followed Mossdance as the Siamese stalked into the Warrior’s den. Gentlepaw was sure Shadowfur was a bit annoyed about having to go in the rain to sort things out.

A bright orange and brown tom pushed himself through the entrance, his fur dripped with water and he vigorously shook himself free of its chilling touch. Silver eyes flicked over to where shadowfur was walking off. Turning his head he saw gentlepaw. He had recognized her immediately and briskly trotted over. He wasn’t good with girls like the other cats, especially toms. A heavy sigh, and a quick sit down next to her. It was awkward so he began first. Hello, I’m rowanpaw

Gentlepaw saw the orange and brown tom pad over and plop down. She stiffened, quivering with fear. Please don’t talk to me, please don’t talk to me- as she heard the apprentice speak, she twitched, giving out a little squeak of surprise. Her eyes widened, blushing uncontrollably. Now she was a mousebrain! She tried to reply, for it was rude not to talk back. “I..” she stuttered, thinking of the right word. She gulped, swallowing hard. No. That was a bad sentence beginner. Her heart heated fast and she looked around. Why was everything so disoriented?! She took deep breaths, trying to escape her shortness of breath. “I..” oh great! She didn’t even speak yet! She had to reply! “I..I’m GENTLEPAW!” she yowled, causing other cats to jump. She clamped a paw at her mouth. ”s-sorry..” she mumbled.

Rowanpaw couldn’t I help but chuckle at gentlepaws response. Well then hello gentlepaw.. tail waving in amusement behind him he looked to the pouring rain outside. He always enjoyed the rain but he didn’t know why. a sigh made him pad forward a few steps before turning his head over his shoulder care to join me in the rain? Or is it far to cold out he teased

Gentlepaw looked up, sighing in relief. She suddenly heard the rain thundering outside. She blinked, ears perked up as she heard the apprentice’s invite. She nodded enthusiastically. She ra out into the whirlwind of rain, jumping, trying to eat the raindrops and laughing. She had a good feeling that Rowanpaw would be a good friend. But she had to learn to get confident. Not let her self esteem go away.

wildpaw awoke to the fresh smell of.. nastiness. dear starclan the cats in this apprentice den didn't know how to keep themselves clean. groggily, she dragged herself out of nest and brought out her assortment of items to start her morning routine. firstly was planting her face in her hydromoss to refresh and clean her fur or something like that. it seemed like the hydromoss had a bit of smell to it too, it looked like she'd have to go about replacing it soon.. anyhow, that was something for later in the day. next, she stuck her face in the flowers she carefully picked the night before to freshen her scent. after that, she pulled her thrifted goods from under her nest to see which one would tag along with her today. all of them were wonderful of course, but she just had to find that perfect one that would line up with all the current trends. and like how it had been for the past couple moons, that was of course her pristine rock she had thrifted when she was a kit. of course she gatekept from everyone where she got it, she couldn't be letting everyone know where she got her amazing fashion trends! afterwards, she took her items and walked outside to look into a puddle. just to make sure her appearance was up to par.. and admire herself.

Shadowfur was bored. Despite the cold, misty weather, he decided to go out and try to be productive. He’d bring an apprentice with him, to lend an extra paw. Padding over to the recently rebuilt apprentices’ den, he stuck his head inside.

“Hey! If anyone wants to roll out of their nest and be useful, you can come help me… collect cobwebs for Elmshadow!”
