Pebblepaw had been looking every which way, nook and cranny. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. An anxious tug at his heart nearly had him in tears as he meowed in response,

"I haven't seen him at all!" This was no time to get emotional! Sniffling back the tears, Pebblepaw carried on his search, turning over tiny rocks - as silly as it was - and sticking his head into bushes only to race back after the group when he realized they were on the move. At least Firehawk was nearby. This was getting them nowhere though... With no response from Graypaw... Pebblepaw was losing hope. That was until Pigeonpaw called out to him, the feline racing to stand beside his sister.

"Wait, let me try.." He mumbled quietly, lifting his head up to scent the air. Was it Graypaw? Was her nose going bad? Nothing. Pebblepaw couldn't smell anything. Well..wait, no - that was a familiar scent! "Oh!" Pebblepaw's tail curled in delight as he nudged Pigeonpaw's pelt. "I think it might be! I don't have a great scent.. but it does seem familiar!"

Kicking back a bit of snow like a bull. Turtlekit dashed forward as Dirtfur have the go. She was almost hopping like a gazelle half way through . "c'mon dirt cat!" she giggled as she was near nightkit. " I think you'll be the one wishing after this!" she grinned.

"In your dreams!" He glanced backwards for a heartbeat only to be stumble, allowing the she-kit time to catch up.

Laughing at nights stumble . The she kit picked up her pace the best she could. "what was that nighty?" she asked with a smirk. She knew he'd be alright . Atleast. ..She thought he would be. "wait dirt cat what's your name again?" she asked . Just in case she wouldn't mess up again and all.

The dusty tomcat ran beside Turtlekit. He was running out of breaths and trying to take new ones. He studied the pace of the kits racing, they seemed to have good speed, maybe good hunters. Turning his amber eyes on the small kit, he replied, "Dirtfur, deputy," -he added for a tease- "of RiverClan."

Eagleflower perked up as he heard he was on patrol, hurrying to join the group of cats. Palepaw, Sunblaze, and...Dawnpaw? He thought, surprise ringing in his consciousness. He hadn't talked to the she-cat in a while. The last time was when Skyclan was still...a clan. It was rare to meet former Skyclanners around, at least, ones that he recognized. or remembered the names of. He listened into Palepaw's conversation, remembering his own surprise and sudden sadness and disappointment when his own mentor had disappeared. He gave a supportive smile to the tom.
"Don't worry, kid! We'll take care of you." He purred reassuringly. He turned to Sunblaze, rushing after the leader's paws as they padded out of camp.

He padded after the others through the undergrowth, smiling at the warmer weather. It had been a while since he'd felt it.

His mentor had suddenly popped out a kid? Palepaw could only blink as he cast a look of confusion to the nursery. When was she ever carrying kits? His ears lowered against his head, but he shook away the weird thoughts and focused on Sunblaze. Wow! He was... sorta... better! And seeing Lionstar bop his cheek made him want to do it too. So, without hesitation, Palepaw reached up as high as he could, tapping his paw right against Sunblaze's nose. "Boop!" he giggled, a wide grin replacing his former sadness.
As he was nudged out of camp, his copper eyes passed along the territory in amazement. He hadn't been outside the camp in forever! Palepaw's tail waved back and forth, Sunblaze's presence seeming to brighten him up. Maybe he was magical, an actual fallen star! At the thought, the marbled tom looked toward Sunblaze in amazement, eyes wide and curious. He almost forgot that there were other cats on the patrol, his gaze broken only by the realization that they had spoken. He didn't need taken care of! He was a big boy!
Though he wouldn't mind cuddling against Sugarapple again...

Leading a patrol! It felt wonderful to be trusted with such a responsibility. He could’ve sworn it was just yesterday that he had joined Riverclan as a confused and freshly uprooted apprentice. Now he had earned the admiration of its leader! Sunblaze’s heart swelled in his chest as he reflected on how far he’d come in just a few moons. He glanced over his shoulder at Palepaw and offered him a friendly smile. He fondly remembered his first patrol. “Is this your first time to Lionsgrove?” Chirred the ginger warrior from the lead. “I always thought the trees smelled nice there. I suppose the river feeds them well.. Just like us!” As the trees and foliage grew denser as they neared the border, Sunblaze made sure to keep his wits and senses about him. Who knew when something might jump out at them? As the patrol leader, he needed to guide his patrol away from danger- especially when there were two young apprentices in tow. While keeping his eyes glued to the treeline, Sunblaze decided to spark a little bit of conversation with the other pair of cats that had come along.

“Have you two been faring well after the raid? If I’m honest, I don’t remember much of what happened. I think I.. must’ve hit my head or something.” It had been troubling him ever since that day. He hadn’t had the chance to ask Greenfur what had happened, he seemed to be preoccupied with his new apprentice. He wondered how that was coming along. “I heard a few cats didn’t make it back.. My condolences if they were anyone close to you. Apparently I was lucky to even make it out myself..” Sunblaze motioned with his tail to his scarred throat. “I owe my life to my friend.”

Ah, yes. Buckfrost joined the duo to scent the air, pivoting his ears to listen for sounds as he tasted their surroundings.. there it was.

Faint, but it was distinctly Graypaw's. And as he took some steps forward, it seemed to be heading out of the territory.

"It's him," Buckfrost confirmed. "We should follow it."

Firehawk twitched his ears as he joined them, draping his tail across Pebblepaw's back reassuringly. He hadn't missed his tears! "It's okay," he comforted him gently. "We'll find him, I'm sure he's just off exploring. He did that a lot, didn't he?"

DawnPaw padded softly through the territory, on purposely hanging at the back of the patrol, she gazed softly at the now all too familiar scenery, memories of her beloved friend, TimberSpark flashed through her mind and she felt a dull ache in her heart, the cream Molly missed him quite a bit and it was natural for her to have certain glimpses of the past flash through her mind. DawnPaw shook her head slightly to get rid of the feeling, she looked towards her companions."...How's DreamPaw and SnowPaw?...". She asked this in a half mumble as she started to pad in pace with the older Tom, EagleFlower. She wasn't too fussed if he responded or not but she would think he would be okay with having a small conversation considering how friendly he was back then, then again cats change.

Eagleflower kept looking around cautiously at the landscape. It was one of his first patrols, so he'd warned the right to be careful. As they padded more scenery, the more relaxed he grew. He finally looked ahead of him, and only ahead for quite a while. As Dawnpaw caught up, he kept his pace, though slowing slighty to talk.
"Snowpaw's good! He's friendlier than usual. I'm happy he's opened up- he's a good tom at heart. And Dreampaw..." He paused, his voice growing a bit quiet, "I'm forbidden to see her. I haven't seen her since." He mewed. He hoped the she-cat wouldn't mind that he was confessing this to her, but then again, she seemed reliable.
