Maybe it was all they needed to discuss. She didn't care about casual conversations with him, or the occasional small talk. He would enter the nursery when the two were younger, and she allowed him to play with them or spend time with them. Nightkit and Mothkit loved him, and though she preferred to raise them herself, the sudden thought dawned on her. They were their kits. Our kits. It was foreign to her. She didn't like that she had to share kits with him and he wasn't her mate. She couldn't stand him because she didn't like sharing, but Theadream held her ground. ''Whatever. I don't care. Enjoy doing whatever you do best.''

Maybe it was time for her to leave. She was in his presence long enough, and she was already fuming. Theadream carried quite the sassy attitude, along with a short temperament. She didn't want them to hate each other more than they already did. In all honesty, the she cat didn't hate Weaselshade. She just found him hard to get along with. She found him irritating. Frustrating. And, he acted like she wasn't there. He ignored her. Practically, like she never stepped up to play parent with him. It made her boil inside, but she brushed it aside. Theadream was pretty tired, and the only thing that really mattered was Nightkit and Mothkit. Surely, she would had adopted more kits once those two were ready to be apprenticed, but once she did, she wouldn't have to worry about Weaselshade any longer. She could raise those kits without him.

Weaselshade looked up. He snorted. Did he really believe her? Of course not. Theadream did care, she was just hardheaded. If Theadream really didn't care, she would have left by now. Had she? No. Weaselshade saw her, with his own two eyes, standing right in front of him. She hadn't moved. Not a muscle. Not an inch. Not a centimeter. Not anything. Weaselshade wasn't stupid. He didn't fully understand hardheaded she-cats, but he could guess for most of it. There was on thing he didn't need to guess for, she did care. Even if her own thoughts compelled her towards the fact that she didn't care, her own thoughts were lying. Now, Weaselshade could be wrong. He could be. He saw the chance of that very slim however. Weaselshade was not often right when it came to Theadream. However, he could be if he tried hard. He wasn't trying hard. He really wasn't. But didn't some people just know things. Like when a thought pops into your mind that you never knew you could have thought of. To Weaselshade, it was one of those times.

The tom looked back down at his piece of prey. This time, not out of annoyance. Not out of embarrassment. But out of something he could not identify. Not hunger, he was only eating the mouse because he didn't want it to go to waist. Not because he was nervous, though it was very possible. But for some reason he could not identify. Weaselshade didn't really care though, at least that was what his mind compelled him to believe. But like Theadream, his mind could be lying. For he truly did care. Weaselshade was as determined to find out what it was, as a new apprentice was to hunt rabbit.

Theadream stared at the tom as he looked down at his prey. She tilted her head at him, waiting for him to say something but he did not. The odd patterned feline delicately sat down, licking her paws and bringing it up gently above her head. She could sit here all day and look at him, but she didn't want to look at him. She found it to be absolutely worthless to be looking at him because he hardly had anything to say to her, so the she cat stood up from her seat, her ears perking, but he continued to stay there and do nothing. Say nothing. Emotions were boiling inside the feline but she refused to acknowledge it. Instead, she put her muzzle high into the air, and turned her body.

Her tail dropped behind her for a second, and she let out an inaudible sigh. Her ears always flattened to her head for a moment, but she refused to show her weakness to the tom. Theadream was not weak. She was ridden with emotion that she wanted to blow up but refused to allow this egotistical tom to take over her. The only thing that mattered were their kits, and that's what Theadream knew full well. Everything would remain professional with them, and she would force the issue. In fact, she figured she would return it. Ignore him like he was ignoring her. "Nothing? Nothing to say at all, hm?" She turned back to look at him just once to see if he needed anything else, but apparently he didn't. She awaited for him to answer as her ears twitched.

She had strained herself to hunt and train, to take her mind off the fact that she had chosen terrible friends. Her exhaustion had clawed her, the pains off it making her delirious. When Canineheart settled herself in the shadows of the clearing, she was practically asleep. When Obsidiansky had come up to her, she remembered that he was her only friend, the only one who she could trust. Canineheart let her tiredness get the better of her, releasing her emotions on to Obsidiansky, not realizing her mistake. Once Obsidiansky had turned Canineheart down, she felt betrayed, and thought that Onsidiansly was just using her. So, with her debilitation at its peak, Canineheart ran away, her groggy thoughts making her act in strange ways. Or was it the love she felt for the dark tom?
Canineheart flattened her ears and gave her chest a few licks, trying to make it lie flat. "Well," Canimeheart meweed, her emerald eyes not meeting Obsidiabsky's, "I felt betrayed when you said that you didn't like me the way I like you." Her paws scuffles the damp ground, tiny root cooling around her toes abd ears, cooling her. "I never felt it before, and I did t know what to do except run. It feels as though I only run from my problems, never face them."
Obsidiansky opened and closed his mouth without any words coming out. It seemed recently he hadn't been able to think up responses very quickly. That's not a good skill to have, was the first thought that came to mind. And it wasn't! Why couldn't he be quick on his paws and witty, the type of cat that everyone was dying to get to know? Although sure, Obsidiansky did have quite a few friends, he had less then the perfect amount. If only he had some friends who weren't quite so close to him, that would be perfect. "Well... f - facing your problems is difficult, Canineh - heart. I, I mean... it's not always the easiest thing," The tom mewed with a light swallow. It was never easy for him to face his own problems. Maybe that was part of the reason he had been so reluctant to figure out whether he had feelings for Canineheart or not. Did he? Did he not? It was so confusing, there were so many emotions involved... he liked her, most definitely. At times it was hard for the dark tom to keep his eyes off of her. She was an attractive cat, and it was surprising that no tom had claimed her as his own yet. "I don't blame you at all." She'd been through a lot, from what she had told him on previous meetings. The so-called "friends" of hers pressured her, toms were constantly crushing on her because of her appearance, and she didn't know quite what to do. Obsidiansky couldn't understand completely... having never been through something exactly like that... but he didn't blame her. It couldn't be easy. It couldn't be easy at all.

Weaselshade faced her. "I was pretty sure you would blow if I said something." he said smartly, while most of him was arguing against making a smart, snappy, and sarcastic remark. "I didn't know you were so eager to hear my voice." Weaselshade added, failing to keep a purr out of his voice. His tone on the part he added was slightly kinder, for by then the side that told Weaselshade to stop being mean to Theadream, and she was a nice cat, was winning. Weaselshade wasn't as hardheaded as Theadream, but he didn't enjoy losing a "fight" with his "enemy".

The tom looked at her, cocking his head to one side. This seemed so much like a battle. But not so much in between them anymore. Actually, Weaselshade had grown to like her despite his mind fighting against it. They were fighting. his mind was fighting. Theadream's mind was probably fighting. Nightkit and Mothkit might be arguing over whether or not they believed Theadream and him liked each other. It was a fight. Not like a battle. Not like a war. No blood was spilled. Just words shot towards the other as though they were bullets. It was a strange thing, that was for sure.

Now Theadream was left baffled. She stared at the tom with an incredulous look wondering what was wrong with him. Upon his words, she rolled her eyes. She didn't even waste her time answering him. She was pretty sure she would had blown up as well, but she didn't want him to get the satisfaction that possibly he was right. At his next words, Theadream felt like she could recoil. Did he really just say what she think he just said? Surely he did. The odd leopard printed feline gave an exasperated sigh. "Don't flatter yourself." He could definitely be wasting time with those other she cats--not her. She had important matters to deal with like raising his kits. Their adoptive kits instead of playing around with him.

Theadream still did not understand how come she was still in his presence. The Somali was irking her badly, like an itch in her pelt. The kind she couldn't reach. And, perhaps he knew this so he was being like this on purpose. She looked away from him for a moment, allowing her head to now for a second before a small smile graced her face then vanished in a quick blink of an eye. It was a ghost of a smile but it was there--something hard to catch. The most thing that caught her off guard? He had purred. Legit purred. Was it directed at her? It made her feel weird that he even did such a thing, and she shook her head. "You're hallucinating. Sure you don't need to see Surgestorm?" Her voice was meant to be playful, but instead it was more serious than she liked it.

The tom was filled with the satisfaction that he had caught her off guard. In someways, that was bad. For then Theadream caught him off guard. "I am?Are you sure it isn't you who needs to see Surgestorm?" he asked, mentally blushing. Though he didn't show it, he knew it was a stupid comeback. One that you would only say when someone had caught you off-guard, but then, Weaselshade would never, ever, ever, ever show that he knew how stupid his remark had been. Nor did he take pride over it. Weaselshade just took it as it went. Some stupid comment after another.

The tom was a little confused over himself. Which was a very strange thing to be. But he was. Weaselshade had caught himself purring. It didn't make any sense. The purr, he was sure, was directed at her, at Theadream. But that didn't make any sense. Weaselshade thought he despised Theadream. But no, actually he had purred, at her. Weaselshade did hate her, right? Theadream hated him, right? It didn't seem like that. He could tell her tone was trying to be playful. The purr always threatened to come out, though only one did.

Eelgaze flicked her ears as she heard something. She looked at Mudkit and realized that he had fallen out of the nest. She gently picked him up by the scruff and placed him back next to her.

She had kit sat other queens kits before and had plenty of milk to go around if Driftstreams kits got hungry. At times Smokethorn would take her along to moor, to feel the wind in her fur and feel alive again. Even if Driftstreams mate had passed away, getting some fresh air was better then being cooped up in a den with nothing to think about.
Driftstream was grateful Sunsong had offered to watch her kits when she needed a break, and she smiled slightly. "Thank you, Sunsong. Perhaps I'll go out later." Truthfully, she didn't want to leave the sleeping kits at the moment. They were so peaceful, and the mother in her didn't want to leave them behind. They were cute at the moment. When they woke up, she might go. But then again, they might be upset their mother suddenly leaves them. She had never done that before. How would they react to their mother disappearing? Would they be angry with her? Hate her forever? Would they even notice she left? Driftstream took a breath, and looked at the four kits. Her amazing gifts fro Liontuft, before he passed on.
