Coastpaw mirrored the young cat's tail flick. "I guess we might have to shift our borders..." He looked a little bit worried at that. "Hopefully it won't cause any problems with our neighbors." Riverclan mostly bordered Windclan and Thunderclan and he could imagine Fallenstar and Grousestar wouldn't wanna cause any trouble by pushing at their borders... or at least Coast hoped they didn't. They'd definitely have to expand in the other direction if all else failed.

She yawned and swept her tail through the grass to wrap around her paws before settling into a more comfortable position for what looked like it was going to be a longer conversation. She snorted in response ‘ ‘ you could only imagine ‘ ‘ she mused running her tongue over her muzzle to flatten her whiskers. At his next inquiry she felt herself stiffen followed by an audible laugh tossing her head back and squinting her eyes ‘ ‘ who in this clan hasn’t heard the name skinpatches ‘ ‘ she said with another few chuckles. She stood and turned her body to the side revealing her side, awkwardly raising her paw to prod a few patches of lighter fur. ‘ ‘ you see these- spots? He doesn’t have good eyesight so he thinks I’m balding ‘ ‘ she said her amusement quickly dying as she sat back down.

"Not unless attitudes can kill," he said, a little put off by her snappish tone so he had responded in kind with his own snark. It wasn't acidic, but a warning that he didn't feel like verbal battering today, and he was grateful when she dropped the hostility. Wrinkling his nose in distaste of the theoretical situation that she'd outlined, Fawnpaw offered, "If you wanted to get away from Lionstorm, your best bet might be in the nursery with those crying kits and entitled queens. He doesn't go near them," after a pause, he considered, "probably reminds him too much of himself." Whether that was the kits or queens, he wasn't obligated to specify which when both would be appropriate. "But point taken, I... didn't know that he was being that bad." Things had presumably been rougher lately with his brother dying, but Fawnpaw didn't mention that -- grief didn't give him a pass on being terrible.

As he saw her settle in, he blinked and wondered if he should do the same but ultimately remained standing since it seemed odd to be beside her when they hardly knew one another. He cleared his throat to ease the uncomfortable tension in the air, but it was for naught since Spiderpaw's sudden reaction to the skinpatch inquiry had her laughing. It only puzzled him further as he waited for an explanation, but that melted into a semi awkward chuckle as he was shown the origin of the name. "So would I if I had him as my mentor," Fawnpaw said in reference to the early balding. "But I guess I'd be losing more than just my fur. My sanity would've been as nonexistent as his humility." Pushing that aside, he was more intrigued to learn about what they'd done and asked, "Do you guys actually train? Or are you just... his anger management outlet that he pretends to be mentoring to keep Fallenstar off his back?"

Coastpaw nodded, taking his first statement seriously before giggling at the other. He was trying to keep an open mind about this merge, but had to admit that it did kind of literally stink around camp. "I'm hoping that they'll start to smell like us soon," He meowed, thinking. "Or, crap, do you think we'll start to smell like them?" He made a slightly disgusted look at that.

Launching himself onto one of the boulders decorating the camp, Lionstorm straightened his posture as he overlooked RiverClan's clearing. Their numbers were swelling because of the merge with SkyClan, and that meant some things needed to be done.

Notably, the expansion of the camp. Lionstorm wasn't sure anything was touched since the Clan moved all those seasons ago.

"RiverClan," his voice boomed across the clearing. "As our Clan grows, our dens and camp barrier is in need of desperate expansion and repair. I am in need of a pawful of volunteers to help manage this task today. All of our dens, including Fallenstar's and Shiverpetal's, will be repaired and expanded as necessary. I would prefer if cats apprentice aged or older took on this duty, however, any kits older than four moons are welcomed to lend a paw as long as they stay within camp. And as a reminder, apprentices should not be leaving camp without a warrior escort. If you need to grab reeds by the river and you're not a warrior, don't go alone." For several reasons, one being their lack of experience and training.

With the announcement done, he sprang down from the rock, looking expectantly at the gathered crowd.

Instead of lounging around, he looked at Lionstorm with narrow and peeved gaze. Once he stepped down, the large white tom slightly dipped his head. " I'll help out with the warrior and apprentice den. It needs some sprucing up anyways," he mumbled finally deciding last minute.

Coastpaw hadn't considered that. "I guess that's true..." He shrugged his shoulders, letting it go because he definitely couldn't change it by complaining. "If you think about it, having our two clans join together means we'll be the strongest, which is good security against the other clans if they attack us for some reason."

Coastpaw nodded, but kind of felt conflicted about being proud. It was going to take some getting used to having two clans together as one. They still felt like an entirely different entity to him. He returned to their previous topic of conversation. "Do you have any guesses of who your mentor will be?" He asked. "I, personally, was clueless."
