Re: The Shadowledge
Mirekit - ShadowClan Kit
She/her | 6 moons | Mind Reader, Silk Spinner At the call of her grandmother, Mirekit stared up at the large rock that she perched on. Las meeting she had failed to climb it, but now this meeting... Her blue eyes flickered over to her mother and the rest of her siblings - they seemed to all be scattered about. Howls was talking with Birdkit and Mossfreckle, Mama was by herself... everything seemed alright as the gray-black patterned kit hurried forward the Shadowledge. She was bigger than last time, and more sure of her steps. The words of her grandma rang in her head: [I]"If you can get up here without help, then I'll allow you to sit with me so long as you're good and quiet."[/b] She could do that.
Nearing the ledge Mire took a flying leap, claws trying to find purchase on the stone as they scraped and slid. Her ears flattened and a tiny baby snarl in concentration left her as she started to climb up. There weren't many holds she could grab onto, but her furiously scrambling back legs did wonders in propelling her forward. After a bit of scraping and struggling Mirekit managed to scale the side of the rock, finding that the top of it was flat and smooth. Still though her claws remained out and gripping the rock, fur fluffed up and eyes shut in fear. It wasn't until she felt herself not moving, or not sliding, that she started to open her eyes. The top of the rock... she had made it!
Gleefully, Mirekit glanced up from her paws to her grandmother, who sat powerfully on the ledge. "Gamma, look!" she whisper-called as she tried to squeeze herself as close to her grandmother as she could, pressing herself against her side and looking up at her with a wide grin. "I did it this time!" From there she glanced down at the cats below - woah! They all looked smaller from here! Mire's mouth formed an 'o' shape as she stared in wonder, tail flicking behind her.
[ @Undertaker - she couldn't do it last meeting, so why not the meeting where she's made an apprentice? hehehe ]

Re: The Shadowledge
Chipmunkpaw
7 Moons
----------------
She hurried from the apprentices' den, heart racing. She hadn't heard the summons! No one had come to get her either, and she was struck with a sharp pang of unwelcome loneliness as her small dark brown body weaved through the gathered cats to find a good place where she could see.
Chipmunkpaw looked around anxiously. She hadn't seen Nightwolf in some time...and her heart was sinking further. Had he gone missing? Killed? Questions and questions, but no answers. Chipmunkpaw's eyes fell on Mirekit, widening in surprise as the kit pushed her way onto the ledge to greet Dawnstar. It was surprising, and worrisome.

Re: The Shadowledge
Cinderkit
~<>~
6 moons || she/her || ShadowClan Kit
small black tabby with minimal white markings; amber eyes
Her grandmother's call was loud, and Cinderkit winced as she blinked open amber eyes. Everything hurt, and she was so tired, but this meeting was important... her litter was being apprenticed now that they were old enough. Would she be allowed to be an apprentice too..? The leaf wrapping of medicinal poultices tied to the stump where her leg used to be crinkled as the black tabby sat up, her face screwing up in pain as she accidentally put pressure there.
She'd been told to stay in her nest, but Cinder wanted to be there for her siblings, even if she might end up getting left behind. With effort, she pushed herself to standing and hobbled the few tail lengths it took to get to the entrance of the medicine den. Walking felt strange, part of her was aware that she was one leg short, but most of her still expected to walk with all four paws, so she was off balance and awkward in her steps.
Somewhere ahead, her mother looked as impassive as ever, but surely there was an undercurrent of pride beneath her pelt? Cinder certainly felt proud of her family, even if she wasn't sure she could join the rest of them - just hobbling this far had nearly winded her. But she would be able to see and hear everything just fine from here, so... it would be ok. It will be ok.

Re: The Shadowledge
High Rank Announcement [#hrannouncement]The Rat Queen jerked her tail back and forth behind her, the only sign that she was still upset, and observed as her clanmates hurried over at the sound of her call. Her temper hadn't hit the point that she was seeing blood yet. She did her best to keep it from rising as she began listing the hairballs she needed for ceremonies. Hm... well she got as far as opening her maw and then snapped it shut again. One of the hairballs was fling themselves at the Shadowledge.
She made no move to help the furball as she struggled, clinging to the side of the stone, trying to get up. Either Mirekit would get up here or she'd fall and learn a lesson. One of the two. It did take a lot of scrabbling, but eventually, the blue-eyed hairball succeded in her endeavor and walked over to her. A small smirk tugged at Dawnstar's muzzle as Mirekit plopped herself down, practically on top of the larger rat's paw. Amusement glimmered in her golden eyes.
"I see. Good work, so brave you have the makings of a great warrior. Don't let that boldness turn into recklessness, hairball." Dawnstar forced her tail to stop lashing, instead, she looped it around the smaller rat's body. She allowed Mirekit to bask in her accomplishment for a bit longer and then added.
"Sadly, hairball, you'll not be able to stay up here for long. You have a ceremony to get through and a mentor to meet. I'll help you get down, I don't need you breaking anything." Dawnstar told her. She turned her glare to the gathered below her.
"Sleepykit, Birdkit, Twistedkit, Moonkit, Lionkit, Cinderkit, Brownkit, Rainkit, Quietkit, Duskkit, Wispykit, Quillkit, Howlingkit, Forestkit, and Sootkit. Come sit below the Shadowledge so we can begin your apprentice ceremonies." This was quite a lot of hairballs. The majority is made up of Dawnstar's grandkids, and great-grandkids. She shouldn't get used to having this many apprentices every meeting. Unless the queens started having clan-sized litters like Cougarbite and Lostspark.
Some of the kits she called had disabilities, but Dawnstar wasn't concerned. If they were true MousetrapClan rats, they'd figure out how to deal with their disabilities and turn them into strengths or work around them. She has seen rats prove themselves despite having missing limbs or being blind.
Usually having this many new apprentices would be something to be happy about. However, it was hard to be happy for them when Dawnstar would be stuck handing them over to inept mentors. There were a select few that Dawnstar would like to train personally, but could she afford to take on more responsibility? No, not really. She already had Cryingelk and Meadowpaw, the latter who still needed to learn the basics!
It would be easier to make the paws someone else responsibility and see about taking them out or aiding with their training when the mentor was slacking or they were looking for extra training. She hated it, but her paws were tied at the moment. She might be able to take on one, Cryingelk's training was coming along and she didn't have to teach him as much with him being older. The problem was which one... that was a new headache. Dawnstar would just wait and help her favorites in areas they needed training in when asked instead. That or wait until she was pestered about reassignments and lazy mentors. She could see about plucking the ones that showed potential later.
"Yellowpaw, and Palepaw, come sit behind them," Dawnstar ordered with a scowl. Apprentice ceremonies and two new warriors, great, should be wonderful news, but patrols brought that excitement completely down.

Re: The Shadowledge
Yellow(rat)paw stared impatiently into space. The big rat who made all the rules were just doing apprentice ceremonies.
He didn't need to wait any longer to become a warrior rat, only a few minutes. He could've been eating Colby Jack cheese if it wasn't the Mousetrapclan meeting where he stopped being a 'paw.
Ah! There it was! He just had to wait for, like a hoard of rats to be apprenticed (thank god he was being warriorized) and then he would be a warrior with a better name! Would his name be Yellowbitey? Okay, that was kind of stupid. Yellowmuenster, though... Yellowrabies! Good! Disease! Disease was dangerous. yellowpaw confidently scuttled behind the kits. Unfortunately, this meant sitting next to Palerat (palepaw). He would've grumbled on any other occasion, but this was such a wonderous time! He turned and grinned insanely at Palerat. Though he thought Palerat was intolerable, he was excited and they were the closest person. "It's happening."

Re: The Shadowledge
Quietkit
Shadowclan kit
Instantly striding out as her name was called, Quietkit felt surprisingly calm. She wasn't usually a cat to get nervous but she did expect a bit of anxiety at becoming an apprentice. Huh, guess not. Did this really mean that little to her? Her own lack of care surprised even the kit herself yet it would wear of soon.
Gazing indifferently at her grandmother, Quiet waited unenthusiastically for her new name and mentor to be bestowed on her...now that she though of it she did wonder who her mentor would be...hopefully someone not totally incompetent. She'd like a mentor that could teach herself at the very least. Who knew, sh could either win or lose the mentor lottery.

The two toned she-cat watched intently, her small body almost like an inconvenient blob in the heard of stilled cats. One day, that'd be her, sitting near the Shadowledge to claim her warrior name. Regardless, new apprentices meant new cats to impress and show how awesome she is! That's something she couldn't complain about.
She searched for Gracklepaw in the string of cats. Maybe she could find him and they could celebrate the new paws together. She began to stand onto her hind legs, her brown eyes searching the crowd for a familiar black pelt and an odd rouge like smell.

Re: The Shadowledge
Cryingelk(20/100)
Cryingelk dashed over and quickly sat in the crowd, his tail curling over his paws neatly. Trying to stop his heavy breathing, he inhaled deeply and exhaled, looking up to Dawnstar who sat upon the Shadowledge with a kit. She looked mad. 'What happened? Did Thunderclan do something again? Did they kill another clanmate?'
Cryingelk listened to the clan-long list of kits soon to be made apprentices, surprised by how many there were. There were two apprentices being made into warriors soon, as two were called up.

Palerat(palepaw) joined the meeting, tipping her head slightly as the rat queen spoke. Lots of kits getting apprenticed, all the usual stuff.. Oh!! Her warrior rat ceremony. A bright grin spread on the calico rat's face and she hopped over to Yellowpaw, taking place behind all the small rats. "Finally," she whispered to the tomrat. They would become full rats of MousetrapClan today!

Re: The Shadowledge
SHE/HER
Purrks: Silver Tongue [ Inactive]
Walls now covered in cooled lava. She was done. She was done with this “family”. Howlingkit stands, unfortunately very aware of Sunny’s location. Why was she climbing..? Oh her stars. She did it. Howlingkit doesn’t even have the proper words to describe what she felt, so what about the improper ones? WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL?! She’s shocked to say the least. Mouth a bit open as she just stares at her younger sister.
When those mental walls grew open the gate remained open, they were open for Sunny and that was it. Nobody was let inside her walls. The older sibling is already on the move. Remaining extremely close towards the rocky surface incase Sunny fell. Howling would catch her, could she even do that? The Heir now feels a wave of calm wash over her as her sister makes it. Exhaling a sigh of relief.
Sleepykit. Was that not her sister..? Howlingkit had not cared to ever think about her sister’s and brothers outside of her full blood ones. So this Sleepykit was a news flash. Howlingkit hand even seen her in the nursery. Had she failed to look before? It’s not like she would matter. Howling was sure would die before doing anything of importance, similar to almost all her siblings. The grey tabby kitten moves to a more visible section of the Cheeseledge. Watching the Rat Queen. A force to be reckoned with on the battlefield for sure. For a few heartbeats Howling’s eyes remained tracing around the collar like scar on her grandmother’s throat. She had heard stories about scar’s. Maybe it would make Dawnstar an easy target….in the future…..of course.
Time to shred whatever whackass name she was given and put on the new one. Heronpaw had a nice ring to it. And it fueled the kitten’s spiteful spirit every moment of the day. She swiftly whips her head around, her mother wouldn’t miss a meeting such as this one. Howling simply gives her a (fake) smile and waves. Her mother would soon learn how much of a mess up she did when giving birth to Howling.
