Her eyebrow quirked a little as Mousekit seemed mortified for a moment, green eyes wide. He looked a lot like her father, which was a... terrifying thought that someone as sweet and playful as Mousekit could bear any semblance to Elmshadow. But it wasn't the same, but Mousekit was much nicer and her favorite.
Still, she was a little concerned about the face he was making, and was about to bap him on the nose, unsure if he had heard her question. He snapped out of it though, so Shadekit deemed it unimportant and listened as her nephew expressed his agreement.
Oh... nice? Her? Not really, right? Not Shader- er, Shadekit? Uhm...
Still slightly stunned, she followed her nephew over to the kit, who had cheered about recruiting the kit to go eat with them. "Al...righty, then."
Mousekit was chattering away with the small kit when she managed to collect her thoughts enough to push Mousekit's previous words out of her mind. The kit was even smaller than them, clearly having been born recently; a moon or so, maybe. The kit mistakingly labeled them wrong, so the older she-cat jumped in.
"No, he's Mousekit," - she pointed at said cat - "I'm Shadeki- er, Shader." She decided it would be easier for the kit to remember her name if it was the nickname Mousekit gave her. The kit squealed in delight, and pointed to herself before saying 'Wrenny'. Was that her name? Wrenkit?
Play, she demanded. Shadekit was practically mossball champion of the world, and this kit could get the mossball out of the bush. The she-cat unsheathed her claw, and gave the bush a good whack. That broke it enough to reach a longer paw in and sneak it out.
She rolled the ball back to Wrenkit, before looking at Mousekit. "Sure. Play, I guess."
A fit of chortles escaping Mousekit when Wrenny had labeled him as Shader and Shader as Mosskit, the gray tom was certainly glad Shader had stepped up to explain the blunder away. He wasn't making fun of Wrenny, of course! But Mosskit was such a funny, funny name. Plus, he loved moss, so if Wrenny wanted to call him Mosskit, that was okay, it was, it was! Plus plus! Wrenny wanted to play with them! True, she was a little younger. A little littler. That was okay, that was okay! Mousekit would just make sure to be extra super duper careful to not hurt her. Because because, they were here to make Wrenny happy, not sad. Getting a loudy would be very, very sad, it would. So he would make sure to not give her any loudies. Instead, the bush would get all the loudies!
Turning towards the bush he realized that - gasp - Shader had already given the bush a good strike and gotten the mossnapped toy back! Shader was right on top of things, just like his Hazely, yes yes yes! Wiggling his hindquarters playfully, the gray tom looked at the two black and white kits in turn, eyes shining with glee. He was usually forced to play by himself lately. His Hazely had been... mad for some reason. Got hissy angry very fast fast. This was fun! Now he got to play with friends and he didn't have to bother his brother! Hazely would be glad.
"Oh yes yes. Let's play, let's play. Warning warning. I am not too good at moss ball. I break the moss balls. A lot. Oops. But! But! I can fix them, I can! So so... no worries, no worries! Everything will be alright."
Her demands for playing was met with quite pleasant responses, and Wrenkit couldn't help but trill happily in response. Everything was still a little garbled, for she did not know right from wrong yet, but with Shadeer and Moss by her side, all was good in the world.
Tittering happily as the cat who was actually Shadeer corrected Wrenkit over her mistake, the young black and white she-kit let out a noise of triumph as Shadeer whacked the big green monster, successfully retrieving her lost mossball. Oh, woe was her, but not anymore! "Thankyouthankyouthankyou." Wrenkit gaped, mouth falling open as emerald hues widened with awe. Shadeer was amazing! However, her wonder was cut short as Moss.. (Mossy; yeah that had to be his name!) Mossy-something's voice sounded beside her, and Wrenkit turned towards the grey and black tom kit to listen.
"Mossball break?" She squeaked, voice rising several octaves in alarm. Oh no, oh no! Mossball was her best friend, he couldn't break! But.. maybe mossball liked to be broken. Mossy said he'd fix it. Humming softly to herself, Wrenkit shifted in place, hugging her toy to her chest with doubt. She still didn't want mossball to break. "Play something else?" The small kitten questioned, head tipping to the side. "Wrenny play something else." This, however, seemed wrong as well for some reason, but Wrenkit could not figure out what was bothering her. She wanted to share! But.. but.. she didn't want mossball to break!
The dreamy she-kit affectionately returned the shoulder bump her brother gave her, and gave Juniper a quick lick on her forehead. Warm fuzziness bundled up inside of her, filling her chest and rattling around withe enough force to make her want to explode into sunshine and rainbows. She love, love, loved this feeling, and hoped her siblings felt the same way.
Poppykit and Juniperkit pressed closer together, and Ruekit felt a little felt out, but that's okay! Poppy didn't like the name Juniperkit said, but she probably just mispronounced it; and anyhow, she apologized, so Ruekit have her a praising pat on the head, and gave Poppykit a soothing lick.
Oh? Who was that next to her Ma? A new lady, Ruekit hadn't seen her before!
...Welllllll, seeing as was born just a few days ago, she hasn't had much time to see anything, really. But still! New cat!
Ruekit looked her siblings. "I'm gonna go say hi hi to the pretty lady Ma's with, okay? You guys can come if you want." She then bounced over to her mother, slotting herself in the area next to Dappledleaf as the pretty lady spoke. Rue didn't want to be rude, because the lady was still talking, but since she was done, Ruekit peeked out from her mother's side and gave the lady a sweet smile, walking closer.
"Hi." Wooooah, she was tall. Ruekit had to look up to see her face. "I'm Rue- that's my sister, Juniperkit, who I call Juni, and my brother Poppykit, who I call Poppy." She turned back to the lady, tilting her head. "What's your name?" She asked, curiously.
Once she was finally done cleaning off Juniperkit (purring with affection at the little kits insistence of liking dirt), Dappledleaf soon heard a voice speaking to her. Hm? She turned to see Mirehound. Oh! What a nice surprise! She smiled at the rosette she-cat, blue eyes twinkling. "Why, thank you dear! I try my best to do well by any of my babies, even the ones who aren't babies anymore." The large cream-and-flame queen settled down beside Mirehound, heard Juniperkit compliment both the mollys, and soon felt a little body next to her own. She looked down to see little Rue.
"Rue, this is Mirehound. She's an Enforcer, so you be very respectful to her, okay? And congratulations, Mire, on becoming an Enforcer! That is such an amazing feat!" Dappledleafs chirp was soft and lilting, and a smile drifted onto her face once again.

To say she was caught off-guard by the little kits' words was an understatement. Mirehound blinked as Juniperkit came up to her, commenting that she was pretty just like her mama. It struck her, as she had never considered herself that - well, not anytime recently. What had once been unmarked fur was now sporting scars - the one across her eye, the one on her shoulder, and the few along her underbelly. But regardless the Enforcer smiles softly and nodded her head. "Thank you, Juniperkit. I'm Mirehound." Her name certainly didn't instill visions of pretty meadows like 'Juniperkit' or 'Poppykit' because her mother quite possibly had no idea what that even looked like - no, she had bene given a name to sound tough. Strong. It was nice that all of that was seen through.
Then as Dappledleaf settled next to her, voice sounding much sweeter than she ever recalled her own mothers' sounding, Mirehound gave her a nod. "They're fine cats of ShadowClan. Daypaw is quite stoic, and Larkfire is one of the smartest cats I've met." It was true, and Mirehound was proud to call them Clanmates. At the forever queen's compliment on her new rank, the shadow chuckled quietly. The young kit who peeked out from the other side wanted to know her name, which Dappledleaf included. "Ah, thank you. It still feels... odd in a way. But I'm glad that I can serve ShadowClan as more than just a warrior now."
She waved a paw in the air as if to dismiss the 'respect' comment. "I'm just the same as you," she reassured the young kit as she lowered her head to be level with Ruekit. "It's nice to meet you, Rue. And your siblings as well."
Something was unfurling within her chest, and the longer the dark rosetted tabby sat with the family the more... warm she felt. It had been ages since such a wholesome moment had fallen into her paws; the shadow didn't want to give it up quite yet. Soon enough she knew her new duties would tear her away from the scene but for now, Mirehound would... enjoy this momentary serendipity while it lasted.
A mischevious flash appeared in them, and she looked back at all of the kits. "You kits walk pretty good, you know that? Do you want me to show you how to pounce?" They were so young, but maybe it might interest them. Plus, it would give her time to stretch her shoulder a bit and prevent it from getting sore.
Honeyfeather grins at the young apprentice "I am waiting for something interesting to happen, or to go on a patrol but that will be no fun" They mew, sitting up slowly.

many cats commented about Vixensnarl. Many things said about her. Some says that she is stern and fair, others say that she is scary. Well, apprentices say that. To Gentlepaw’s case, she looked terrifying. But she told herself it wasn’t about looks. With a small puff of steam floating out of her mouth, the starry patterned cat tugged herself out of the apprentice’s den, obviously not thrilled at the droplets that splashed onto her dark pelt. By the time she reached the clearing, her paws were wet and her whiskers were filled with water droplets. Yet today she has a thought. If she could wake up early with determination, she would fall asleep with satisfaction. She vowed to start helping regularly more in camp.
A foul smell stopped her in her tracks. She stopped by the prey pile to see rotting prey. With a sigh of distain, she realised that she should hunt for new prey, so that her clanmates would not have to put with a stinking rat. The silky furred apprentice looked around for someone to hunt with. Ears went down in dismay as she watched Sagepaw pad over to honeyfeather. Guess he was busy. She turned around, looking for a cat to hunt with.
The new buddy system Dawnstar announced was… strange. She liked roaming across the territory. She could be in peace. Well, she respected Dawnstar’s decision as there was a risk of death out there. With a shake of her head, she turned around to spot Vixensnarl. The dark tabby molly was padding out of the warrior’s den. Welp…here goes nothing.. Gentlepaw thought as she padded up. Raising a paw timidly and tilting to a side, she began. “Erm..miss Vixensnarl? Er.. I’ve been noticing the prey needs a restock. Would you be so kind to take me out of camp?” she requested, blinking.
The Enforcer's ears twitched at the sounds of paw steps approaching, and she swung her head around to face Gentlepaw as they began to speak. It was clear the apprentice was nervous, and a smirk tugged across Vixensnarl's muzzle as the apprentice spoke. She knew she had a reputation for being stern, but it wasn't like she would bite an apprentice for asking to go out. Well... most of the time.
"Sure. It's good to see an apprentice taking their duties seriously. Has your mentor taught you to hunt yet?" the tabby asked as she stood, giving her pelt a quick shake before padding towards the entrance to the camp, expecting Gentlepaw to follow.
