Chubkit loafed in the clearing, exhausted from chasing his tail for the last two minutes. the sunshine tabby had the aforementioned tail trapped beneath two chubby paws, glaring down at it with an air of victorious smugness. The 2 moons old crowed proudly, getting the tail in a chokehold. "'Tha's what I thought, ya blonk." He teased, lunging forward with about the same amount of ferocity as a butterfly, and began to gnaw on his tail.

Wrenkit
She/Her
“What’sa - What’s a blonk?” Wrenkit asked curiously, tufted head popping up out of seemingly nowhere as she blinked bright green eyes at her denmate. She hadn’t been planning on staying in the clearing, not really. She’d wanted to go hunting for her oddly missing sister Moonkit, or her disappeared mother Violetfang. But now, this seemed more interesting.
Looking up as a black and white kit popped out of nowhere, Chubkit's focus was taken away from his saliva soaked tail tip. The little dude twiddled his whisker with his fearsome white mittens, looking at the emerald eyed molly. "A blonk... i-is'a blonk." He drawled importantly, destroying his tail was now a distant thought. Deciding that not all cats were intellectually superior and would struggled to understand his patient definition, he graciously decided to help Wrenny out. "'s another word for dummy." Or.... at least he thought so. "M' mum would get mad at me for saying it, so be careful." He warned importantly. Even if it was a lie. He didn't have a mum. But no one had to know that. Lying was okay when it was used to make sure you didn't look unwanted.

“A.. dummy? What’s that?” Wrenkit repeated, features scrunching up as she tried to make sense of whatever he was saying. She didn’t know any of these words. Was she supposed to know them? This kit looked no older than her, maybe she was just a little behind. Yeah! That was it! Just like Mossy had gone ahead to become an apprentice. She and Shadeer could catch up soon! Mossy and Shadeer were her bestest friends, after all. They’d wait for her, right?
Blinking at - oh no! She didn’t know his name! - Wrenkit nodded eagerly at his words. “Okay! I won’t say dummy to anyone! Or b- blonk, either!” Head jerking up and down in a vigorous nodding movement, the black and white kit shoved a paw against her chest. “I’m Wrenny!” Wrenny.. her sister had called her that the last time they’d talked. Where was Moonkit? No matter, she had friends to make! Moonkit would want that!! “What’s your name?”
It felt good to be the intelligent sounding one in a duo for once in his life. "It means 'tha you're callin' someone a bloomin dill, jus in a different way." (a chub translation: "it means that you're calling someone a moron, just in a different way" it also means, god bless you, poor wrenkit) The plump sunshine tabby flicked his damp tail as he stood up. "You can call someone that. Just not around a grown-up." He wiggled his catbrows conspiratorially at her, wondering if she would get the meaning. It was okay to insult someone, as long as you didn't get caught.
Hm. So she added "eee" to the end of her name. He could do that too. It must be a thing that cool kids did. The little dork grinned toothily, pressing a white toe bean into his chest. "I'm Chubby!" He introduced himself gracefully, then he paused. Wait, what? His forehead crinkled as he went through his words again. Oops. That sounded mean. And he couldn't be mean to himself! Sure, he could beat up little kids on occasion but being mean to himself on accident was where he drew the line! "I'mean, Chub. I'm Chub."
Watching his dad do a biiiiiiiig stretch, Eveningkit wanted to try too! He jumped forwards, pushing his front paws out. He started to stretch out when the moon old kit toppled onto his side. He was perfectly fine, being little more than a self aware pudge ball.

Midnightkit was watching her brother with a curious expression, tilting her head to the side, a question mark practically floating above her head. She jumped when her brother fell over, her green eyes shooting open. She padded over quickly, comical panic overtaking her. She didn't see that her brother was actually okay, just that he fell.
"Why can't I call someone that around grown ups?" Wrenkit asked, completely missing the hint. Instead, her forehead only furrowed with confusion as she eyed her denmate's waggling catbrows. "And what's a bloomin- blooming dull?" Yes, she had already forgotten what Chubkit had just said. Wrenkit was like that, her brain was rather fuzzy and didn't let her remember things all too well. Frankly, it would be a miracle if she even remembered all the fancy words her companion had sprouted before this.
However, she did perk up with excitement as her new friend exclaimed his name. "Chubby!" She repeated gleefully the moment he'd said it, clapping her cream and black splotched paws together with excitement. "Oh. Chub?" Hm. That sounded less exciting, but if that was his name... Oh! Now she had a list of friends, wasn't this exiting! There was Mossy, Shadeer, and now Chubs! (yes, she had already forgotten Chubkit's name of choice). Moonkit would be so happy! ..If she could find her sister first, that was. "Hello Chubs!" With a happy tilt of her head, the small kitten puffed up her chest. "We're gonna be the bestest of friends! But.. not more bestest than Mossy or Shadeer, they'll be sad otherwise."
Moving through the clearing on his way away from the nursery, he was stopped by Shadowfur's voice. Not exactly familiar but easily recognizable. He slowed to a stop and turned to look at the enforcer as he started speaking. Elmshadow's mind took a heartbeat to catch up with Shadowfur's meaning but he caught on quickly and understood where he was going with it. He gave a brief nod, "Yes, that would be helpful." He quickly started going over in his mind what he'd seen in the herb stores and what the recent patrols had brought in. An impending war would require plenty of herbs to treat wounds, Yellow bells, marigold, dock, cobwebs, honey, possibly burdock, daisies could be beneficial as well if they could be found, and burnet wouldn't hurt. The stores still had a good amount of honey and the yellow bells were getting restocked though they could certainly use more, same for the burdock. He nodded again, "Yellow bells and marigold should be our priority, and go ahead and grab cobwebs if you see them though we do have a decent stock. I'm not sure if you'll be able to find marigold yet," the prolonged frosts were proving to stave off the regrowth of the beneficial herb, luckily yellow bells seemed to be frost resistant and served the same purpose. "The yellow bells are small bunches of tube-like yellow flowers, they shouldn't be easy to miss. And marigold are round, fluffy flowers, I'm sure you've seen them. Keep an eye out for round white and yellow daisies as well though I believe those will be in the same state as marigold."
( Apologies for how late this is! )
Shadowfur nodded, listening closely to the descriptions Elmshadow gave. Yellow bells and marigold- got it. He silently repeated the descriptions to himself, aiming to memorize them as quickly as possible so he didn't have to seek Elmshadow out again for a repeat of this knowledge. "Is there anything else we can help you find? Maybe... poppy seeds?" Aside from cobwebs and catmint, poppy seeds were really the only herb he knew about.
