RiverClan Announcement [#kestalks]

More arguing. More shouting. More yelling. But the one cry that alerted Kestrelstar the most was... Junipersong. Yellow eyes watching as she spoke up, he couldn't help but see where she was coming from. A brief moment of doubt clung to him as he watched his Clan - some cats were even leaving the meeting. Was he... wrong? No. He couldn't be. ThunderClan needed to pay, whether they had a story or not. Even if they spun some good alibi, it didn't change the fact of the clawmarks upon Lionstorm.

In the past months Junipersong had become somewhat of a close ally of his, and he recalled their fun competition just days prior in the forest. A race. Kestrelstar couldn't remember who had won, not that it mattered. Conflicting emotions rose up within him. Personally he wanted to strike. He wanted to launch a full scale attack at ThunderClan for taking away another RiverClan life. He wanted anyone who messed with RiverClan to pay.

After a small mental debate, Kestrelstar decided to not respond to Junipersong. He only held his gaze to her, expression somewhat reflecting a mixture of personal betray, but leader pride.

There was more to be done though. As the chatter quieted down, Kestrelstar cleared his throat to speak once more.

"I do not wish to start this new era of RiverClan in bloodshed. I will speak with Splashleap and Snakeheart on what to do, but mark my words. ThunderClan will be taking responsibility for what they have done."

Glancing down at the assembled cats, he took a sharp breath. "With that being said, there are a few things I need to do before this meeting is over and the vigil for Lionstorm and Fawnsqueak can commence."

Redkit glanced up at Kestrelstar, his eyes wide. Did he just say... Redkit?
The russet kit, shaking, padded forward, his ears pinned back and his tail between his legs. Was he in trouble? Or was... was he getting his apprentice ceremony?!

Tallkit padded out of the nursery, waking up to his name getting called. He had no clue what had went on as he always slept. He padded out. Was he really going to make him an apprentice. That might not be such a good idea. He was lazy and didn't like doing anything. Perhaps his mentor will snap him out of not that Tallkit would want that.

Oh stars.... was he really comfortable with being made an apprentice at a meeting where so much chaos took place? Well, it was better for it to happen sooner rather than later, he supposed. His expression brightening a fair bit, he began to swiftly pad over to stand by the other kits, only to swerve off momentarily to go give his brother and mom a quick hug. "Im so proud to have you as my brother" he quietly mewed as he tightly hugged Snakeheart before turning to lick Foxblazes shoulder in what he hoped was a comforting manner. The young tom gave them both a sorrow-filled yet hopeful smile then padded up to join the other kits in front of the streamstone.

Dusksong pricked her ears, apprentices? Now? Cool! She wanted one, really badly. She didn't care what happened, as long as they attacked Thunderclan. She sat down and stared at the leader. You know, I might actually start participating in clan meetings now. THe chaos was kind of fun, but no one needed to know that. She twisted her face into a look of sorrow. At least, Dusksong hoped it was sorrow. She wasn't usually doing so much acting.

Launching herself forward, the dust coloured she-cat seemed to teleport to the front of the clearing. All the better for you to see me with. She looked around and pretended to be shocked before her gaze landed on Kestrelsplash. At the sight of the other warrior, her eyes narrowed. Ugh, he looks like he'll be getting one. She snorted once, quietly, before turning her eyes back to the leader. Dusksong thought about her clan. Honestly, there was no one in there she would give her life for. Eh, who cares.

Nightpaw smiled. She had remembered what it was like to be apprenticed. Only she had first been apprenticed to.. marrowheart. She shook her head and looked to kestrelstar. He was her mentor. He was better then marrowheart had been.

Kestrelsplash found his footing as the Leader spoke for the kits.. Apprentices? He flicked his tail in suspense. Was this his time? To get an Apprentice? He stood up tall and proud, puffing up the fur on his chest. He wanted to be the first cat Kestrelstar saw when he was announcing Mentors.

Brambleheart slowly padded up to the bodies, a lump of dread slowly forming in his stomach. He smelled Lionstorm's scent under the blood, and also Fawnsqueak. He stared, aghast, at the numerous wounds covering their bodies. Had ThunderClan done this. He spun around as Snakeheart began to yowl. He wasn't exactly sure what the fuss was about. Why was the medicine cat suddenly accusing them of being traitors? He agreed that ThunderClan was responsible, but that didn't mean that they were unprovoked.

Brambleheart bowed his head next to the fallen warriors, paying his respects as Kestrelstar began to yell. When he looked up again, the new leader was in the process of naming some new apprentices. Brambleheart was relived. It was about time that something more cheerful happened.

Apprentices? Now? Starlingflight eyed the meeting with skepticism. Of course they'd want to train new apprentices; if they were heading into a conflict with ThunderClan, whether it was now or later, they'd want new warriors to add to their ranks. Now to see who the mentors would be...
