It didn't take long for Larkfire to orient herself after noticing the dead body in the clearing. It felt like someone had thrown sand in her face. Or like the time she'd fallen off that cliff not so long ago, down into the unforgiving ocean. Confused, lost, angry, alone.
When she'd awoken this morning, well-rested after so many nights of sleeplessness, Larkfire had thought it was a mercy. A mercy that no hissing flamepoint female had plagued her nightmares for once. That she'd gotten a good sleep, finally. Now that same sleep just felt like a taunt.
So when she got over the initial shock of seeing Dappledleaf's corpse in the clearing, Larkfire averted her gaze, spine stiff where she stood in the entrance to the warriors' den. "I'll come." The lithe female voiced, expression shuttered.
"I am ash... I am embers... My flames once danced bright. My flames now fade... But it returns from the depths... The fire devours me whole... It's the birth of something greater..."
Her claws slid out at the mention of the threats, first the medicine cat was injured and now a cat had died. The clan needed to be rid of these murdering menaces. Stalking forward to stand before Dawnstar, she let her voice ring out.
“I will go” and although not a warrior, she was still only a demoted one.

Flowerkit's wail tore into everything Elmshadow had considered as he'd made his way back to camp. His first thought had been to take Dappledleaf straight to Moonlit Grove before notifying the clan but he had known that Dappledleaf's kits and friends would want to see it for themselves. Normally he was not a cat to advocate shielding kits from the horrors of life, growing up in a clan they'd need that resilience. But Flowerkit, still weak from her ordeal was going to exhaust herself. She needed rest for healing. It had been the reason he'd stopped to at least groom some of the carnage from the queen, knowing the state of some of the kits who'd be mourning her most. Elmshadow quickly left the clearing, diving into his den and into the back. Reaching for the poppy flower, he shook it gently to drop a few tiny black seeds out into his paw and then reemerged into the clearing. By the time he was padding back up to Dappledleaf's flank, Dawnstar was peering over the limp body. The medicine cat slowed to a stop and watched, until she moved away and turned to him with her instruction. Elmshadow dipped his head in respectful acknowledgement then continued his previous path forward once Dawnstar had turned her attentions to the whole of Shadowclan.
He reached out a broad free paw, aiming to place it gently on Flowerkit's back, trying to keep her from falling away from the safe comfort of the dead queen. Then he reached out to offer her one of the tiny black seeds. He wasn't going to try to pull the kit away from Dappledleaf, knowing it'd likely be a fight he didn't care to start at the moment, but between the trauma of her ordeal and injuries and now the shock of loss, Elmshadow knew she needed something to keep her mind leveled so he pressed the poppy seed.

Elmshadow's call turned the enforcer commander's head. The warmth spread through her and touched her mouth, forcing a smile across it. There were times she was randomly reminded that the medicine cat was her mate and how hard she'd worked for exactly that. But when she turned, her chin high as she pranced over to meet the tom's call, she saw Dappledleaf's body sliding onto the clearing floor. Her paws slowed and her head cocked as the smile faded, Pity. Cougarivy made it a very strong point to avoid the nursery at whatever cost but she knew how much Dappledleaf did in the wretched place, truly taking one for the clan by choosing to spend her days in such a place, and still carrying out so many warrior responsibilities. The wail cut through the clearing at a deafening pitch, Cougarivy's spotted head cocked in the opposite direction. She knew the kit was upset over the loss but the theatrics was excessive, was it not? As an apprentice Cougarivy lost her only sister, it was just life. She may have had a small paw in the actual cause of her sister's death but that was beside the point.
The smile sprang back to her face upon Dawnstar's war call as she moved away from Dppledleaf's body. The enforcer commander bounced to her leader's side and nodded, "Oh! That sounds like fun. Let's shed some..." Her words were cut off by the distant sound of dogs. Her pelt prickled but the smile that had faded at the initial sound, spread again, Dogs. There was promise in such beasts. She preferred the taste of cat blood and craved the fight of a strong feline opponent, but dogs would always put up a good fight. Her blue eyes moved back to Dawnstar, a sparkling look of pleading to bring her along with for the fight.

A cry burst forth from Eggpaw's lips. Loud and mournful. The sight of his mother, his mother who he had loved so much, lying there dead on the ground. He didn't remember deciding to move, but then he was there, standing in front of her. How could this have happened? Rage and sorrow filled his heart. Revenge must be taken. He burried his nose in Dappledleaf's fur one last time, then turned to Dawnstar. "I am coming." He commanded his voice not to waiver. He didn't have much training in battle, but StarClan help whoever stood against him. He didn't need any fancy skills when he could feel the heat of anger running in his veins.

It was with shaky paws that she turned and sprinted back to camp, only breathing a slight sigh of relief when Icethroat announced hail had Dogpaw safe. Icethroat was safe. Dogpaw was safe. Daypaw was dead. She wasn't going to lose another clanmate today, Spiritpaw wouldn't lose him too. She didn't form connections, and she didn't care much about loyalty, but when she had to see a cat barely a few moons older than her lose himself to StarClan, it didn't matter if they were friends or not. He would not die. She would not let him.
Camp was farther away than she'd like, but not so far that she couldn't hear the dogs fading barks. Farther away, but not so far that the woofs were completely out of earshot. She burst into the clearing, skidding to a stop. "DOGS! IN THE TERRITORY! MOONLIT GROVE!" She turned to look wildly around at the cats gathered in the clearing, eyes wide as she shook. "They killed him. He's dead. They're both dead. They're both gone." She took a shaky breath before continuing. ”Icethroat and Dogpaw. They’re out there.”
She finally stopped, staring down at Dappledleaf and her breath caught. Dapplebranch. Moordog. Shadetail. Dawnpaw. They we’re all gone ”Her kid’s dead too. Oh yeah, and your grandson.”
Beansprout ( @~'Atlas-The-Lemon'~ ) had a think, before deciding against risking their life. (Atlas doesn't want their cats in events/death and stuff like that)

Icethroat
Tuxedo cat with a ring of scarring on the neck Hail/Hailself Pronouns only!
Dragging Dogpaw into the camp was difficult enough, now doing it with a pack of dogs roaming free was even worse. “Spiritpaw, get Dogpaw to the medicine den and allow Elmshadow to handle his injuries, find Ivysnake for yours if you have any, that’s an order!” Icethroat barked at the apprentice, turning towards the leader if she dared to even appear because she clearly had a a trait to ignore everyone around her, even her own kin. “You and Me are gonna have a little chat.” Hail mewed towards her den. If Dawnstar actually did come into the clearing, Icethroat began to chew her out on the spot. Now with Elmdshadow also entering with his own dead body maybe she would actually care. “Dawnstar!” Attention immediately switching towards the Shecat as hail’s green eyes fixated on her own.
Hail’s voice echoing through the camp as they spoke, hate and rage erupting from each word as they did so. “You say you’re looking for a capable deputy when you can’t even do your own damn job?!? Letting one of your warriors die to predators and letting her body rot in your clearing?! Now leaving Roanpaw’s body to rot, once more, without you even giving a damn about it, your own grandkit might I add. You got practically one apprentice killed and another injured, so badly that infact I don't even know if he is gonna live! Like you just stand there being all “scary” while you let predators tear your territory to shreds, this could have all been avoided if you actually did your goddamn job! You didn’t even notice Mirehound dead body sitting in your clearing, I don't even know what I expected from someone who didn’t send out search party for Roannpaw in the first place or any patrols to Moonlit grove in over a moon, yet you place all of your duties onto your enforcers and by the looks of it your numbers are down by two. Mirehound is six tails under and Shadowfur is nowhere to be found, you, Dawnstar, are a goddamn joke of a leader, you wanted someone to step up huh? Well the only two good candidates you got are now gone. But yes, let’s handle to foxes from sun highs ago and a threat that may be gone now. What’s stopping you from leaving any of you clanmates to die and rot away in the territory, what about your future deputy? Your medicine cat, if it seem you don’t even care for your kin!,” The warriors words hopefully cutting straight through the air near the tabby cat. Icethroat was pissed, and that was the least of it. Icethroat wasn’t afraid of some little leader who placed the blame and duties of her rank onto others, it was high time she was held accountable, it had been moon after moon when nobody said anything about it and Icethroat wasn’t going to stand another minute of it!
Icethroat turned to all the other cats in the clearing now gathering. “All i’m going to say is open your eyes to see that your leader isn’t as well off that you all claim.” Hail snapped at them, a look of hate clear as day on their face. Daypaw, Dogpaw, Mirehound, Dappledleaf, and Roanpaw. All of them now either rotting away, injured and now dead, all due to her lack of action and care for her own clan. A leader wasn’t even close to how terrible she was, once calling for her praise, Icethroat wasn’t just going to let her just stand there and do nothing but tap her jaws about Thunderclan and Windclan and how much she hated them or about their leadership when her own was the same, if not worse.
A high pitched scream broke through the air as Flowerkit stumbled into the clearing, face painted with shock. The injured kit hopped forward, before halting as she saw the cloudy, lifeless eyes. "Mama?" She choked out, stumbling forward, before the shock and horror knocked her off of her unsteady three legs before crumpling to the ground, her injured and bruised head landing inches away from her mother as she let out another wail. "Mama, Mama please wake up. Mama wake up." dragging herself forwards, teeth clenched as tears poured down her face, she collapsed on her mother and started shaking her with her single front paw. No. Not her mama. Please not her mama. The wounded calico saw stars and felt her head swim at the overextertion but she didn't care. Her mama was gone.

RUEKIT
What?
There were some words that didn't belong in the same sentence, like how mice and cats couldn't get along, except in dreams. Even then, it was held together by some dream-like magic that made everything happy and sensible.
Dappledleaf and dead did not belong in the same sentence.
So, Dappledleaf's eldest daughter in her most recent litter, did not understand why her mother was unmoving in the clearing. The kit padded forward, her blue eyes widening, terrified. Her mother was not supposed to be be this. Her mother was supposed to be warm and lovely and kind, not cold and unmoving. This wasn't her mother. No, no, no, this wasn't her mother. This was an imposter. Shadowclan had another cat named Dappledleaf and they looked like a spitting image of her mother, but it wasn't her mother.
This was not her mother. And she had nearly convinced herself, that Elmshadow was wrong, Dawnstar was wrong, Dogpaw was wrong, but Flo's cries made her reality shatter.
Dead.
And all of a sudden, there was no stop.
Ruekit's mouth opened, and she gave a horrifying wail, so unlike her normal voice, and she couldn't bring herself to stop.
The dark medicine cat's ears had perked at the distant sound of baying but Dawnstar's ears were already alerted to it so he had focused back on Flowerkit and addressing what was present in front of him. Until the next call, coming in so shortly after his own, broke the mounting mayhem in the clearing. His head lifted to watch Spiritpaw as the apprentice panicked through his account, his green eyes remaining stony and unreadable...Dogpaw... His son, was out there, had faced the dogs. Memories of his own run-in with dogs soon after his warrior ceremony flooded his mind and he turned to face the entrance squarely. Spiritpaw said Icethroat was out there too so the medicine cat had to assume the warrior was taking care to bring the other apprentice home safely. He didn't have to worry long before Icethroat dragged Dogpaw in. Elmshadow left Flowerkit with Butterflybrook, hoping the kit had taken the poppy seed, and moved directly to his mutilated son. "Spiritpaw, come with me." He lifted Dogpaw over his shoulders to pull him into the medicine den.

The little enforcer commander turned quickly as two more cats burst into the clearing shouting about dogs. Her pelt prickled but the anticipatory smile spread further over her face. She noticed Dogpaw's name being thrown out and then Icethroat coming in carrying her son. Her smile faded a bit but her attention was quickly diverted as Icethroat left Dogpaw and moved in on Dawnstar. Cougarivy stepped forward to meet the raging warrior. "You're awfully high and mighty to be addressing Dawnstar about not caring as you decided to pick now, while she is trying to get together a patrol to go out and address this problem, to puff your chest at her. Is now the time? Or should we deal with the threat to the clan first, hm?" Her pelt bristled at the overt attack against her leader but she decided against addressing the points in favor of keeping this argument brief whilst dogs roam their territory. Ugh, she hated putting this much thought into any of this responsibility thing. It was irksome that the warrior was prolonging the ability for her to go sink her claws into something!
