Gem nodded. "I was. But I think those cat's were three times the size of me!" She glanced down at her paws; admittedly, she wasn't too much bigger even though she was now fully grown. The strays were probably still double the size of her.

The smile shrunk on Gem's face, but she forced a small one to remain. She glanced at Shadow's bowl of water nearby. "Drink, maybe it'll ease the tickle in your throat," she suggested lightly.
