Hearing his name and elder duty put together made Graypaw sick to his stomach. He was sat alone in a shady spot, hardening his gaze at Frostflight. Annoyance was clear on the apprentice’s face. He wasn't trying to hide it either, in fact, his whole appearance looked off today. Messy fur, droopy ears, dead tail...life sucked right now. His promotion will be delayed, Icestar has been haunting his dreams, he’ll be getting a new mentor, and the worst part is that he dragged Pigeonpaw into all of this. And now he has elder duty. A familiar voice managed to grab his attention, softening his gaze when recognizing it was Fawnpaw. Of course he of all people had to ask. Graypaw stared at the ground. “I got my sister and I in big trouble.” his tone was flat and ashamed. This was the last thing he wanted to talk about.

Regret pierced him as he noticed Graypaw's demeanor didn't exactly seem open for inquiries about his recent endeavors. Fawnpaw was about to speak, reassure that he didn't have to tell him, but fell silent again as he received a vague answer. "Oh, wow.. Um, I'm sorry about that. It's kind of weird Frostflight is only punishing you," he commented, flicking a judgmental gaze toward where he'd last seen the deputy in the assumption favoritism was at play. To Graypaw, he was much kinder as he asked, "So, do.. you want help with the elders? I mean, I don't want to make your punishment worse or anything, if that's what hanging around me is like--" He belted a nervous laugh that died fast, clearing his throat. "But I could still help, like, get you anything you need.."

Graypaw was flattered by Fawnpaw's concern, he really was, but it was hard for him to show any sign of gratitude. He shrugged at his mentioning of Pigeonpaw's punishment, genuinely unsure of why he was being punished first. Graypaw wasn't one to complain, though. He deserved this. Letting out a forlorn sigh, he replied. "I appreciate the offer, but I think I'll have to do this alone. I don't deserve your help right now." Standing at those words, he began slowly walking towards the fresh-kill pile to collect a meal for Duststorm. "I uh...just need to be alone right now. I'll catch you later, okay?" Without even meeting Fawnpaw's gaze once, Graypaw walked away.

Bounded away from Frostflight, the brown tabby called out, "Chickadeequip [ @Haunted ] and Angelwing [ @Fuzzyfeline ]!" Dirtfur searched the right and the left for the two warriors then mentioned, "Is time we checkout the ThunderClan border. Be careful of burnt rubbish and ash, and we're re-marking as well."
Dirtfur padded to the RiverClan entrance and stand to wait on his clanmates.

Chickadeequip parted his jaws to reject the offer, must wanting to get a good nap instead as he had just been out hunting, but quickly shut up again as he heard Dirtfur calling his name, along with this Angelwing. "Here goes nothing. Even on a lack of sleep," He grumbled, stalking towards the patrol leader, 'Dirtfur' [he could see how he got the name] and perched himself by the other tom, his jaws parting in a loud yawn. Despite his features pertaining a grump of a feline, his eyes shined brightly with always the fascination of adventure. Angelwing's tail lashed behind her as she was assigned to this patrol to check the ThunderClan. Lionstorm had better picks on patrol leaders. They say she was addressed irritated her and honestly she wasn't sure why. Maybe because she didn't like having a younger and less experienced warrior giving her orders. That made sense.
"We have ears." She replied blue eyes slightly narrowed. The patchy molly knew how to to go on a patrol and didn't need the young tom telling her what to do. The other tom just looked either lazy or sleepy. Either way she doubted this would be fun.
