Codwhisper trotted into camp and dropped his single trout onto the freshkill pile. He then turned and walked over to the deputy, slowing as he approached. He glanced around unsurely. Going out with Whitepaw had been far more disappointing than he'd hoped for, getting her to engage had felt like pulling ticks off the elders, he shuddered at the memory of his apprenticeship days. He smiled at Sparrowskip. "We didn't find a whole lot of prey. Whitepaw, I'm pretty sure, caught the only mouse that crossed her and I managed to coax a trout out with a cricket. There really wasn't much else that we could find."

Beewhisper nodded. He dropped down his vole so he could give his paw a lick. Jeez, Twolegs, litter somewhere else!,he thought. At least they'd caught some decent prey. Beewhisper padded to the fresh-kill pile and plopped down his vole, before padding next to Wisteriapool. He looked at Sparrowskip. @marshall

"Coralsplash!" Sparrowskip yelled as he saw the cat. "Get your ass over here!" Was this mean enough? This was mean enough.. right? Hopefully, Sparrowskip wished he knew how Kestrelstar did it, being stern and all that jazz. "You have failed to turn in the patrol you were assigned leader on, and while I'd love to hear an excuse, nothing is going to stop your punishment." Sparrowskip had missed patrols himself before but, there were new rules now for them, ones he had to enforce buT thankfully ones he didn't get punished by.

slipping through the camp entrance, brindlefeather ambled over to sparrowskip, herbs still firmly clamped in her mouth. she leaned down to place the herbs on the ground for a moment, just so she coule report the patrol. "the patrol went well!! there were no problems marking the border, but..thunderclans markers were basically non existant, um.. anyways. dawnwillow never showed up? I'm not sure where she is.." a large paw lightly prodded at the long, bristly-stemmed herbs on the ground. "i found these herbs..? uh, i'm not sure what exactly they are, but i'm going to see if snakeheart wants them in case they're useful."

Sparrowskip turned his head as Brindlefeather reported in the patrol. "ThunderClan needs to get their act together it seems." Sparrowskip wasn't sure WHAT was going on over there, but he knew their leadership had been weird lately. Sparrowskip observed the weird herbs and had a slightly disappointed look on his face when he couldn't identify them."Sounds like a good idea! Hopefully he actually knows what they are, i've never seen them before." Sparrowskip gave a small shrug and ended by saying "Thanks for the report." He said bowing his head slightly.

Padding into camp with her head held high and pelt fluffed up in an attempt to look bigger she scanned the camp searching for Sparrowskip, spotting the cat she was searching for she padded towards them after placing the prey she'd caught on the pile. "Th-e Hunting patrol went well, we've f-found a bunch of two-leg rubbish that seemed to contain f-food? I think. I-it seemed to be leading out of clan t-territory but we've gathered the majority of the rubbish placing it in a-a pile to prevent any one from hurting themselves on it as B-Beewhisper( @QueenOtter) gained a small cut from the r-rubbish. she mewed dipping her head to Sparrowskip.

"Huh, well thats.. concerning. I should probably check that out.. probably. I want you to make sure Beewhisper gets to the medicine cat den. I don't want that wound getting any worse." Why two-legs were so deep in RiverClan territory Sparrowskip had no idea. He just hoped the trend wouldn't continue.

Fierceroar padded into camp and headed straight for Sparrowskip, her golden eyes seeming to be a bit uninterested. “Hey Sparrowskip. The patrol for the Shadowclan border went well. Nothing interesting.” She meowed, dipping her head.

Sparrowskip nodded to Fierceroar as she reported the patrol. "Thanks, I'm glad. If ShadowClan is up to something, we certainly need to know. Good to know they aren't.. at least I hope." ShadowClan was a clan that Sparrowskip DEFINITELY didn't want to target RiverClan.. even if RiverClan was the only clan that could take them on.

➢ Slipping back into the Riverclan clearing without hesitation, the tall dark-furred shield padded over to the deputy tomcat. He glanced back at Sheepshrike and Honeypaw, giving a gentle nod to the two cats to let them know that they were both dismissed and that he would take things from here. Turning their icy blue-hued eyes back to Sparrowskip, they dipped their head in a gentle, respectful manner before going ahead with their report. “Sheepshrike, Honeypaw and I got to Sedgewater Valley without any trouble,” Snowlep meowed, his ear twitching, “There were no trespassers to be seen, but there were quite a few vultures lurking around… Sheepshrike was able to pick up the trail and it led us to the corpse of a dead fox. It looked fresh, but we were unable to figure out what had killed it. I wanted to return to camp and alert you as soon as possible. We made sure the borders were freshly marked though before we swiftly headed back. Other than that, there is nothing else worthy to mention.” Snowleap didn’t know what to think of it and honestly, he could’ve gone about it in a different manner, but the oriental longhair’s gut instinct was telling him that he was doing the right thing. Lingering around the area with the carcass seemed like an unwise decision, especially with a young apprentice with them. “I can go back to the border alone and get rid of it if you wish, but I wanted to check in with you about it before I did anything.”

Vultures? Those were something Sparrowskip didn't see that often. "I would say, at least for now not to go back. Who knows if whatever killed it is still lurking around there." Sparrowskip didn't want any warrior, especially a shield to get killed. "That is a bit concerning however, let's hope those vultures take care of it for us."

Sparrowskip frowned as Codwhisper reported in the bad news. "Well that sucks. I'm glad you both were at least able to find some prey." Sparrowskip wouldn't blame it on the two, you couldn't always have a good hunting patrol. "It is leaf-bare after all, I'm not expecting a feast." He said with a small smile.

Birdpaw's nose was wrinkled in utter disgust the job, or was that disgust dismay? Probably both, this was gross. But she felt bad because now someone was mad at her. She could do this! Even if she didn't see Silverflight or Heronflight coming over, that wouldn't stop her from doing the job! Ducking her head at Snakeheart, the little cat looked around once more for her dead-body-dragging-friends, if they weren't here in a couple minutes... she would do it herself, she guessed. She would feel bad for herself, but she was a useless worker, and she wanted to stop being that.

Coralsplash bows his head. "I have no excuse and I will take any punishment." He says, looking at the RiverClan deputy with his blue eyes. He really has no excuse, so he doesn't try to make up one.

Trotting through the entrance to camp, the dark tabby molly headed straight for Sparrowskip, crab and shell in her jaws. Upon stopping in front of the deputy, she placed the crab on the ground and then looked behind her to see if Dustymoth was delivering his catch to the fresh-kill pile.
How am I supposed to give this report?
Her brow furrowed as she thought for a moment. Then she tapped the crab with her paw, and tapped twice on the ground, hoping he would understand that she meant they had caught two things. Finally, Moonfrost placed the strange shell she had found on the ground in front of the tom and placed her paw upon it, before waving her other paw in a circle.
I hope he understands that I mean there are a lot of these...
Carefully, she wrapped her tail around herself and waited for his response.

Okay, second round of patrols is a go. Sparrowskip was feeling a little more comfortable with sending them out. Hopefully most of them would report in. "Hey! Patrols are going out, so make sure to listen for if your name is called."

"And you know what for the heck of it, Wormbite! [ @x ghostie ] Plumstorm! [ @implimm ], we can all go ahead and mark the Smallpines border! We'll head out as soon as I finish assigning patrols."

That patrol would likely be pretty chaotic, and Sparrowskip was ready for it. NOW ONTO HUNTING-

[optional prompt: Crows and ravens are flying around everywhere! Sure, its an abundance of prey but, its weird seeing so many in one place..]

"Shimmerbird! [ @NinjaBloss ] take Cloudpaw [ @masquerade ] hunting in RiverClan Territory. Hopefully this time around there's some actual prey wandering about."

[optional prompt: Its eerie everywhere because of a lack of any sound! its like all the prey suddenly went silent, do you have any theories as to why?]

"Raccoonear! [ @door~ ] Take Quietpaw [ @Clock Dragonshifter ] into the Sleepy Thicket! If it was up to me I'd rename it the creepy thicket.."


[optional prompt: You notice a strange scent all around the Firefly cove and for some reason you don't recognize it! Do you search around to find what it might be?]

"Streampelt! [ @~Fierce~ ] take Sheepfur [ @puffball ] into theFirefly Cove and check around there for prey!"

[optional prompt: the waves seem especially fierce today! might be a good idea to stay a little far away..]

"Doeheart! [ @Ravensong ] take Troutwish [ @Angelique ] into Lionsbeach and search for whatever you can find!"

Annnd that was it for patrols, so Sparrowskip sat down and waited for the rest of his patrol to arrive.

The white molly heard her name and obediently padded over for her patrol. She couldn't match names to faces very well, so she hoped that her patrolmate wasn't another overly-flirty tom. Her tail swished across the ground as she waited with attentive eyes and ears.

Yawning, the silver she-cat nods. "Mmmh." She would wait for Sparrowskip to lead them out today, feeling quite lazy.
