They concealed it and put it on the Thunderclan side, but I reckon William killed splashfur. Alright, now that's out of the way... Weaseltooth, how would you like to look after my apprentices while I'm out on patrols in future?"
Weaseltooth looked shocked. "You're kidding. You've got to be."
"I'm not. Charredpaw and frostpaw suggested the idea so if I'm on a patrol and they're at camp, you can keep an eye on them."
"Yeah, then!" He seemed eager. "I've managed to become friends with charredpaw over time and I've continued to work on my relationship with frostpaw as he's my own child from before I decided to identify as male."

Shellwhisker's head shot up at the mention of Splashfur's corpse. Ears flattening a bit, it looked as if Shellwhisker was tense and alert. She looked at Sootpelt. ''Wait, you reckon an outsider killed Splashfur?'' Shellwhisker shook her head. ''If it was an outsider, Sootpelt, then why would Splashfur's body be found at the ShadowClan border?''

Shellwhisker's ice-blue eyes narrowed. ''ThunderClan border, sorry,'' She mewed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She knew which border was which! The golden-brown-and-white RiverClan warrior whisked her tail. ''Well, if this 'William' is killing our Clanmates, we'd better let Larkwing know that way she can address the entire Clan about it.'' The she-cat shook out her fur and hauled herself onto the shore. ''It's best if our leader knows. Then she can decide what to do. Until then, us three better get back to camp and explain it to Larkwing.''

Rateye from Thunderclan had snuck into the territory while Shellwhisker was at camp. Weaseltooth and he had conversed for a bit.

"Bumblestar still hasn't given me an apprentice."

Shellwhisker had returned for Weaseltooth when he hadn't returned since she'd talked with Charredpaw. Her ice-blue eyes widened. Ears flattening, the she-cat gave a hiss, tail bushing. ''What is ThunderClan doing on RiverClan territory?'' Shellwhisker stalked forward, stopping beside Weaseltooth. She flashed a stern look at her Clanmate before returning her glare to Rateye.
