"The more the better", she said, smiling. Opening her jaws to taste the air, she looked around to see if there were anymore nearby.

"Good. My turn." Jaggedclaw meowed as he opened his jaws. He tasted snake and slunk over to where the scent was coming from. He pounced on it and bit its neck, killing it. "And that's how the professionals do it." He mewed proudly. @ LionKitKat

There are plenty more in the forest. You are also just learning. Make sure that you are downwind from it. You pounced perfectly for your first try. Let’s find something else. Mintheart admires the new apprentice. @ Echobreeze18

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Frostpaw flicked his tail in dismissal as Nightpaw murmured first. She didn't need to apologize. Very few cats knew of his past and it had been a harmless question, to begin with. Everything that happened in ThunderClan was the past. He'd severed all ties with those cats, especially Stormgorse. At this rate, it wouldn't surprise the white apprentice if his first mentor had gone rogue. The point was it didn't matter. He didn't care. His life was the present, he would look to the future. Anything else was just a bad dream.
"Hunting is one of my favorite pastimes," Frostpaw admitted as his maw curved up slightly. Granted, it would be better if he wasn't on constant watch during hunting patrols and if he could wander away without a warrior trailing after him, but it was still nice. The forest was peaceful and hunting made him an asset to his clan. There was something about getting lost in the chase, not having to focus on anything but catching the prey and bringing it back to camp. His other two pastimes were battle training - a way to vent out anger - and observing - which could get very boring sometimes.

Re: ShadowClan Territory
[ Ah when you say Coyote instead of Iris smh we can ignore that lol - @ bmkmb ]
Why was Flintfreckle so bad at this? The one time he could protect some cat he cared about the cat got mad at him. That's there fault! His conscience told him crossly, yet he couldn't help but feel a bit of guilt well up in his chest as he retrieved the apprentice's kills in silence. "Look. I'm-I'm sorry for snapping at you. I was just worried." He meowed as he bent to pick up the final piece of prey. "I didn't want to lose you when I could've done something to protect you." Unlike I could to save Sagedust... The thought nagged itself at the back of Flintfreckles mind and he shoved it away, along with a fresh wave of grief. He hadn't been the same since her death. "I know I seemed angry but I wasn't. I was angry at myself for not getting there in time. Good catch." He sighed, tail drooping. M-maybe I'm not fit to be a mentor. He thought as he began to lead the trek back to camp.

Re: ShadowClan Territory
As his the speckled cat explained his actions, Frostpaw felt guilt pooling in his chest again. Why was he such a bad apprentice? It shouldn't be that hard. An apprentice's job was to listen to their mentor and train to become an asset to their clan. Perhaps Flintfreckle had underestimated his skills and thought that the harrier had harmed him. It hadn't. A couple scratches could hardly be considered dangerous. There was something about Flintfreckle that Frostpaw approved of, but his mentor didn't seem to realize that. Then again, Frostpaw wasn't the easiest cat to read. Not with the stoic mask that hid his emotions. Maybe he needed to voice his thoughts out loud, and so he did, only hoping that Flintfreckle would listen.
Frostpaw sped up, closing most of the distance between he and his mentor before setting the harrier down and calling out, "Flintfreckle," to catch the older cat's attention. There was no going back now. He would have to say it. Frostpaw's voice seemed strong as it echoed through the forest, despite his voice actually being soft. "My first mentor tried to kill me." There. He said it. And Flintfreckle was the first cat he'd ever directly told. "I've had three mentors. You're different." Different in a good way. "You... care." Why? "You're the first warrior who's ever cared." His parents had been foxhearts and he'd been more or less ignored his entire life. ThunderClan harbored nothing but bad memories, so he ran away to ShadowClan. At first, nothing to drastic happened. But then Flintfreckle was assigned his mentor, and there was something about the speckled cat that made Frostpaw want to open up to him. Of course, he kept saying the wrong things, but he was tired of beating around the bush, so Frostpaw just outright said it. He wasn't mad at Flintfreckle, he was confused. He didn't know why anyone would want to protect him. Any flaws in his way of thinking was definitely his family and first mentor's fault.

@ Breezefur
Russetpatch padded away from the camp in the territory with her apprentice. When she stopped she meowed: "Ok, so this is the hunter's crouch." And crouched. "Then, you have to sneak towards the prey like this" Her tail was just above the leaves, and slowly she moved forward, her pawsteps silent. After about a foxlength she stood back up. "Now you try!"

Emberpaw tried to imitate the move, twitching her tail for a few seconds to make sure it was just above the leaves, and she moved forward slowly, just as her mentor had done. The only problem as that her pawsteps were loud because there were leaves on the ground, and Emberpaw hadn't even tried to watch out for them.
