A turning aroun to see who was speaking, eyes landing on the apprentice a soft smile came upon her face, "I'm pretty good due to the fact I just got a new mentor." Excitement still buzzing, "I'm Shimmeringpaw." Seeing the same scared, nervous eyes the she-cat knew too well, "Do you want to go somewhere more quiet? I don't like a lot of commotion and need some fresh air." A silver and white tail curling over dainty paws as she waited for an answer.

Owlpaw let out a nervous chuckle. “Oh, uh- Shimmeringpaw, nice- nice name.” She fell quiet for a few moments before realizing that she was asked a question. “O-oh, somewhere quiet? Y-yeah, sure!” Owlpaw was grateful that the other apprentice wanted to go somewhere quieter instead of staying in the somewhat crowded clearing. “So uhm, where do you w-want to go?” She smiled as she asked the question, trying to make herself feel a bit more comfortable around Shimmeringpaw.

Sootpaw sat near the nursery but still a ways away. His ears were flattened and let his sour mood towards not being able to join the raid take over. Again. c'mon lionstar! I'm sure some of us could take on a few without having to have a session . Then again it is just a raid...not an actual battle ...I'll ..I guess I'll save my strength for a real war. then he hissed but that stupid deputy shouldn't have done that! Asterkit spotted Sootpaw closest to the nursery and bounded towards him, skidding to a halt near him. He stopped and puffed out his chest head high and regal. “Hey Sootpaw! Look what I just caught.” He paused and pawed at it, to make sure he saw it. “I caught this HUUUGE bug all by myself.”

Ears angling towards the kit. the tom raised his brow he's excited over that puny thing?..

He wanted to congratulate aster....but. It's a bug. To him they were a worthless prize that are only there to entertain kits. Like this one. He inhaled before sighing "uh....yeah. Nice ...Job..asterkit." he meowed but they were just a bit fake in tone. With that the tom shook his head and gingerly licked the underside of his left paw. " where's your mother? " he asked as he looked into the nursery .

He bounced up and down on his paws before composing himself again. "I guess it is pretty good right?"

"She's inside with the ~other~ kits." He sniffed as he said other. They were beneath him. "I could be a pretty good apprentice, right? I could hang with the best of them." He smirked.

Huffing in slight disappointment the tom returned his attention to the kit. The grey apprentice scoffed "when you are a apprentice . And a bug won't be enough at that time. " surely asterkit knows that? Lashing his tail once in slight annoyance " even then. You'll have competition . Like me." he somewhat grinned .

She murmured to the kit, slightly distracted as she pulled the mouse from the pile quickly, before turning around and taking a couple steps away from the pile with it in her maw. "And Fawnpaw.. Well... he's..." She set the mouse down as she was speaking, glancing around the clearing to see if she could spot the brown-furred tomcat. Not seeing him, she turned her gaze back to the kit with a huff. "He's my friend, who's also my captor... okay? And he lives in your clan." She finally meowed, sitting down and taking a bite of the mouse as she finished her sentence, eyes fixed on the creamy kit with a hard glare.

He humphed. “I only have three moons left, and then I’m gonna be great apprentice! Then I’ll be a warrior, with a big strong name like Asterfang or Asterclaw. Or maybe a special name like Asterfog, cause I’m sneaky!” She skunk into the loudest crawl you’ve ever heard, bellying across the ground in front of Sootpaw. He popped up quickly with a gasp his eyes shining “what do you think your warrior name is gonna be?”

Shaking his head with a small smile "you do know that Lionstar picks your name for you right? " he meowed . who knows, you may be stuck with something like Asternose "but right now, I'm leaning towards Asterspark for you ...since your...energetic ..."
Starring right at aster as he crawled around, he had a face of are you serious?.. only to then give him a somewhat blank stare . Until he asked what he thought his warrior name would be. He...had no clue.
"I honestly don't know...but I do wish that my mother would've named me something like Falcon or Hawk instead of....Soot....the only good sounding name is sootmask. And that has been done so many times, it will not fit a cat like me. " he meowed I want something that mirrors my greatness ...something strong and powerful ....storm has been done too many a time too..
