Grizzlybug cheerfully trotted along three forest, not paying too much attention to where they were going since they weren’t likely to bump into any cat this early. He decided to warm her up with some land hunting since she was more comfortable with that and continued to weave through the territory until they came to a copse of fairly large trees. They were nearing the Thunderclan border and the territory grew more like an oak forest than the rest of the marshy land. It would be a good place to find some early rising birds and rodents. Grizz stopped right before a tree and instructed, “alright, Eveningpaw! We’re gonna start with land prey today. Why don’t we split up and I’ll find you when it’s time to move on.” He didn’t want to stress her out by mentioning that this was her final assessment, so Grizz kept it to himself. If he got the sense that she was slacking because she didn’t know today was important, he could hint to her that she needed to pick up the pace- or just continue the assessment another day. With a nod and a smile, Grizzlybug padded off into the trees and disappeared, using his brown pelt to blend in. The fluffy tom didn’t go far, however, and tracked back around to observe the apprentice.

Eveningpaw sighed and gave a slight groan but would still obey her mentor. She headed off to a nearby tree and hooked her claws onto the tree and carefully made her way up. She spotted a squirrel and carefully crouched stalking on the tree branch before bouncing and landing on the squirrel and making the kill before dropping the prey down to the ground, before making a large leap onto another tree, with a two tail length gap between branches before spotting a bird flying up and snatching it up and biting the sparrow before dropping it to the ground.

Grizzlybug padded along on the ground nearby, tilting his head to watch the apprentice in the trees. She made two good kills and dropped them. Grizz himself probably would have left the catches in the crooks of tree branches to keep them away from any scavengers, but there was nothing around and they wouldn’t be there long so Grizzlybug didn’t feel the need to remove any points for it. He figured he’d watch a few more kills and then grab himself some kills before meeting up with her to move on to fishing.

He nodded, of course she would want to know. Lifting his head and meeting her gaze, he looked at her, thankfulness glittering in his eyes.
"I-I think I'll be able to manage but, thanks." He gave her a greatful smile. "So, um. Where's your camp? Like I assume it's in the middle of your territory of course.." He trailed off a little, not really knowing what to say. This was an awkward moment for him and definitely embarrassing.

Re: Lionstunnels
"I think so! In fact, I think Lionstar hopes to find the old camp and make it a kind of a backup camp," Swiftbrook answered, shivering when her whiskers brushed against the walls. She paused when suddenly, in the outline of the darkness, she spotted the tunnel beginning to open up. The warrior halted where she stood, staring ahead. "Do you see that?" she asked, uncertainty laced in her voice.

Eveningpaw stayed near the kills so she wouldn’t let a scavenger steal them. She spotted a small bird coming towards the dead squirrel so she dove out of the trees landing on the bird before it could react before killing it. Being busy, she grabbed that other prey and buried it together, shrugging that she couldn’t find Grizzlybug.

"I sure do! That looks like a camp... and one that isn't very old." Lavenderstripe was't sure where this camp had came from, and most importantly, if it was from friends or foes. @ crypticcountryroad

After Eveningpaw’s latest kill, Grizzlybug nodded to himself and jogged away to catch his own prey. He swiftly found a few thrushes hopping around near a bundle of cattails and managed to dispatch two of them before they could fly away. The rest flapped off and he grabbed his two catches and trotted on. The next prey he found was a family of plump voles of whom he managed to kill three. Today was a lucky day for the fluffy tom! He headed back for Eveningpaw, pausing on the way to snatch an unsuspecting starling and soon made it back to the apprentice. Dropping his kills between some large, gnarled roots, he kicked dust and moss over them and turned to the she-cat. “Alright, Eveningpaw, let’s move on and hunt some fish for a bit. The clan will be eating well on us tonight!” The sun was already rising and the dawn patrol was surely out by now but with his plan to spend the whole day working, the fresh kill pile would be plentiful. Then again, they be moving on to battle practice after the fishing.

Eveningpaw was a bit surprised,” Huh. A bit more training than usual. I guess it makes sense testing my stamina.” she meowed following him to the pond to fish. She didn’t like fishing, but she’d do it never the less. Eveningpaw spotted a spot where her shadow wouldn’t show and settled down. She spent a bit of time watching the fish getting adjusted to it, as Grizzlybug taught her before shooting her paw in the water and scooping a fish onto the shore and holding it down before releasing it. Eveningpaw aimed again and caught another fish. She wanted to catch plenty, she went for another fish, but missed it. Not deterred she quickly caught another fish, she glanced up at Grizzlybug wondering why she was doing so much hunting in one day. She figured this would be the end of training until sunup, since she didn’t want to be lazing around the camp all afternoon. Eveningpaw’s stomach growled from forgetting to grab breakfast surprised by Grizzlybug’s enthusiasm that it seemed he wasn’t wearing out from the hunting.

Grizzlybug sat just a bit farther from the water than Eveningpaw so he could watch her fish. She was utilizing the practices he’d advised her to use last time and he smiled as she caught a few fish one after the other. It didn’t take long to satisfy him that she was ready to fish regularly without his assistance. The fluffy tom flashed out a paw and flicked his own fish onto the bank to kill it with a heavy paw. Twice more he performed the same maneuver until Eveningpaw’s stomach rumbled. Chuckling, Grizz stood and meowed, “why don’t we take our catches home and grab a quick bite? I’d like to do some battle training later.” Without another, Grizzlybug grabbed up his fish and led the way back for eh stashed land prey, digging up his earlier catches and trying to fit them all in his mouth. He ended up having to carry everything by their tails, the thinnest parts, and he turned to see if Eveningpaw was ready to head back to camp for a quick break before the final part of her assessment.
