Hawkfur looked up from his spot next to Bravebird, noticing Crowkit's dappled grey and red body staring at him from the nursery entrance. Hawkfur smiled, the darkness hiding the exaustion in his gaze. He carefully pushed himself to his paws, stepping silently over his mate before following his son into the sunlight. He squinted against it as his azure eyes tried to adjust to the stark light difference. Hawkfur could see cats gathering, and for a moment he wondered in fear if this was a battle patrol. He hadn't been paying as much attention to the clan has he should have been this last moon, so it was entirely possible he missed them declaring war. Though that all seemed to be a worry of his overactive imagination as he saw kits trot up to the group cheering about a race. Oh stars... the last race he competed in... he didn't actually remember the outcome, funnily enough.
The Fury looked down at his son who was staring at him expectantly. "What can I do for you, kitto?" He leaned down to rasp his tongue over his son's ears. "Were you thinking of joining that race?" If even one of his kits turned out to be a runner like he and their mother... stars, what a dream.
Crowkit nodded with a purr sent in his father's direction and he looked back over his shoulder towards the growing group of cats. He still wasn't completely sure what a race was even though the term was kind of similar. "Yes! I wanna do race with you! How do I do it?" He asked as he turned his gaze back towards his dad once more, "I've never done a race before!" Crowkit added happily as he bounced once in place, wobbling a bit as he regained his balance on still slightly unbalanced paws. Oh there was all sorts of noise all of a sudden and curious eyes moved from the kit and apprentice as they went back and forth for awhile before Cardinalpaw spoke up again about splitting up teams and the likes. "Are we on a team together, papa?"

The russet tom glanced up at the sky, the warm sun glistening against his pelt. Awesome, seemed like the perfect time to go out. Cardinalpaw inspected the gathered cats. "Hey! We're headin' out! If you wanna watch us race, come on along, just as long as you can leave camp. So no kits. The prices will be announced at the end!" They called, eyes bright, brown eye practically glowing in the sun. He hopped down from the tall rock, tail flicking. He lead the group out of camp, thankful for the warriors with the group.

Deadmoon followed after Cardinalpaw, pleased to see that she hadn't been forced into a contest but would be able to spectate. That way she could get some of the excitement without any of the crushing humiliation.

Vinepaw shook his head, a small smile tugging at his lips despite himself. Wildpaw’s antics were often exhausting but never boring. As Cardinalpaw organized the teams, Wildpaw’s enthusiasm was infectious, and Vinepaw found himself looking forward to the game.
With a delighted shout, Wildpaw threw a paw into the air and called out, “Looks like we’ll have to just see. Though I’m sure I’ll be leaving you in the dust, Bunny!” His energy was almost overwhelming as he turned and noticed Rabbitpaw approaching.
Vinepaw’s eyes followed Wildpaw as he greeted Rabbitpaw, clearly unimpressed by the new medicine cat apprentice. “Rabbitpaw,” Wildpaw said, his tone a bit awkward as he added, “I wouldn’t count on you winning.”
Vinepaw couldn’t help but chuckle quietly at Wildpaw’s antics. As always, his fellow apprentice’s enthusiasm was boundless, and Vinepaw was eager to join in, ready to enjoy whatever chaos Wildpaw had planned. He gave a small smile to rabbit paw almost as if silently apologizing for Wildpaws antics. He hadn’t yet had the chance to talk to rabbitpaw since his ceremony but maybe he ought to tell him he’d be made a warrior soon his training had gone extremely quickly surprisingly he almost felt sorry for lightningpaw. “How’s your training been with miss lightning storm? He asked kindly while his blue eyes took in the older apprentices face.

Cardinalpaw led the group onto the moors, and found a good spot. He found a tall rock to stand up and leapt up. "Alrighty, listen up everyone! I'm going to go over the rules again! No pushing or shoving! None! You will be disqualified! If you are shoved and I don't notice, tell me! Don't start running before I say go! Different groups will race at different times, so I can watch. For fun. Now that that's out of the way, we are racing from this rock, to...hm..oh! That bush over there. We will race there and than back. He announced, signaling with his tail to a bush about 3 tree-lengths from them. He made sure everyone had came along before sitting down and waiting for everyone to prepare
Ooc! If you don't remember, you are rolling a d20 dice! Depending on what you get is how your characters do in the race! If your cat is a specific breed (*cough*doloI'mtalkingaboutyou*cough*) you can add a small bonus. I think that's all! If you have any questions, vm me!
Crowbreeze jogged over, his long legs bouncing on the ground. He loved running. So, so much. Running was his life. “Cardinalpaw! Thank you for holding this race.” he purred. “I love running.” he smiled at the young cat.
