At first, yellowtwist got a little confused. some people just ignored him. he prepared to repeat himself because some people's ear's were broken but then a few cats noticed the starless spirit, the first of which seemed to be confused by the concept of no stars= not starclan. did he know that while he was alive? actually, he forgot. that's not good. anyway he probably did. "Starclan? Ha, try again. I wasn't good enough for them, which i will take as a compliment."
the very dead shadowclanner was quiet as dawnstar spoke as he would've been if he was alive. he caught on to dawnstar not being very happy about something. He couldn't figure it out before he realized he had limited time, and he could feel it was running out. "Again starclan is somehow dumber than Squirrelclan at least at the moment bye." And with that, he disappeared back into the dimly lit swamp forest thing.
He hadn't even noticed the spirit, but he soon realised as every cat focused on it. Yellowtwist. The one killed by the rats, right? The tom's ears flattened a little as he glanced over. He hoped their vengeance on the rodents had been enough. The situation hadn't passed re-entered his mind since the battle. Exerting his frustrations on the dastardly things had cleared his mind: left him at peace. Well, it wasn't as though the deceased warrior had come back to yell at him. They didn't seem to care. Seemingly, the warrior hadn't entered StarClan. A StarClan cat would actually be able to confirm or deny this fantasy-like tale. Exasperated, he sighed. StarClan wouldn't bother coming down just to confirm or deny something, but the Dark Forest would make an appearance, simply to make their voice heard? Could anyone blame him for being so apathetic to the starlit clan?
Beside the point - his second apprentice had arrived. She seemed enthusiastic enough, if not a little too boastful for his taste. "Uh-huh." He responded with a raised brow. "I look forward to training you both." Was that the right way to respond? He wasn't sure. It didn't take Venompaw long to join in on the rallying - and stars was she loud. From her words, he soon realised that she was one of Dawnstar's litter. He was honoured to be chosen as her mentor, despite current behaviour. Every apprentice he'd trained thus far had been perfectly behaved. He doubted this would be the case here. Maybe that was correct for both of them. Already, Talonpaw was throwing comments her way. He understood her frustrations, but he wasn't going to deal with constant bickering. "You two," he flicked his tail in front of their faces, hoping that was enough to get their attention.
The clan was soon hushed, with Dawnstar confirming her decision, then continuing on as usual. To be honest, the onslaught of disagreement had actually shocked him. Dawnstar had her reasons, even if he didn't understand them. He wasn't one to doubt her. Was the clan's faith really so feeble?
Well, another first. Dawnstar's burning golden orbs found no sign of the apprentice she had called up. The kits missing their apprentice ceremonies happened here and there, but she's never had an apprentice miss their warrior ceremony. She wasn't sure how to feel about this. The leader knew her heated emotions were begging her to find and rip Willowpaw apart.
"Owlthroat," Dawnstar turned her wrathful glare to the tom who had been in charge of the apprentice. "I feel like I've been very lenient towards her, but my patience for her incompetence is growing thin. When you see Willowpaw I'd make it very clear that she's one tail lash away from being clanless." That was the last warning she was giving Willowpaw. The only reason Dawnstar was keeping Willowpaw in the clan was because of Owlthroat.
Anyway, her kits were making faces. Faces that made her want to cuff them over the head. She made a mental note that if she ever had any more of these brats she wouldn't train one of them personally. Her words seemed to have gotten through a few of their heads.
"Regarding the owls, since Sleepysunrise and Slientpaw have had some time to train, I'll be gathering cats for the hunting patrol and we'll be removing them and reclaiming the Mourning Ruins. Don't bother volunteering I'll be deciding who's coming and staying. And no, I'm not bringing apprentices under six moon or without battle training." She warned them all.
"That's all meeting dismissed." She flickered her tail while glancing at her kittens. She'd have to gather them all for battle training at some time. She had no doubts that their mentors would train them well, but taking extra fighting lessons with her wouldn't hurt. #shcmeeting

fishpaw sat and kept her tail around her legs, she hoped to be taken on the patrol, but she doubted it so so got up and headed to the apprentice den, maybe she would go bother her mentor later for some training
Fallenmoon sat. Wondering if he could join the patrol

When Weepingpaw would approach, Hawkbite's eyes would light up just slightly, greeting the younger feline with amusement and respect. He'd pull away from Mistlewhisker enough to lean his head down and tap his nose to the other. It was cold, icy even, nearly making him flinch just from the shock, but he held the form until it was time to pull back. "We'll head to the territory right after this if you'd like, if you think you can handle it, that is," Hawkbite half-challenged, gauging the eagerness of this new one.
Once answered, he'd return to listening to the meeting, only to feel tiny teeth sinking into his tail. He'd jolt forward, his ears flattening as he's head turned sharply to glance at the younger cat. "Owww..." he spoke quietly, as to not interrupt. However, only slight annoyance lined his tone, the rest was amusement. He couldn't be mad at this hellspawn... yet. It wasn't like he'd stolen something precious from him like Houndpaw had -- he still found that one annoying. Poor Mistlewhisker, dealing with that chaos.
He'd flick his tail once, hoping to get a good whack over the ears. Of course, this wouldn't hurt, but it'd be obviously intentional and pose as a small warning to be gentler about biting him. If Weepingpaw HAD to bite him, at least do it softly! Sheesh! The Commander would settle back in beside his partner, letting his tail twitch still if Weepingpaw really wanted to toy with something. Hawkbite would only catch the end of Dawnstar's statement. No volunteers, just hand picking. So, that left him needing answers. Which of the Enforcers was she going to bring along? Clearly one, if not a few, would tag along.
That would wait, however. She dismissed the meeting. "So, kiddo, how about that tour, then? Start now?" He'd cast the question over his shoulder at them.

Owlthroat’s ears flattened in anger to the back of his head, face and nose crinkling. Willowpaw hadn’t shown up. He felt Dawnstar’s furious gaze upon him, his own yellow eyes curdled with disgust at his apprentice. He thought he’d finally be wiping his paws clean, getting rid of her incompetency and passing her onto what should be a simple life. The life of a caretaker would be as easy as eating mice, it shouldn’t be like this. Avoidance of a simple ceremony to give her a full name, the tom was furious. Hot with rage and embarrassment, showing himself up to Dawnstar like this after showing some softness and sticking his neck out. Fatherhood had tainted his better sense clearly.
”I’ll see to it Dawnstar.” His voice was low, almost grovelling with shame. The usually egotistical tom knocked down a peg or two with his own poor judgement. A mistake he wouldn’t make again, even for the younger amongst the clan. Incompetence was incompetence, no matter what outlook he tried to spin on it. No matter how sorry he felt for the individual, no matter the worry he had his own children would turn out to be blathering idiots like her. His anger left him with no room to think about the owl patrol, despite his previous enthusisam towards it.
He’d deal with his own new apprentices later, he had bigger fish to catch. Fish that included batting Willowpaw around the face and ears until she came to sense, he’d had enough of her. He was just about ready to show her to the border himself with a helping of claws. His tail lashed angrily as he turned away, ready to give her a glimpse of Starclan.
Yarrowpaw hadn’t really taken too much notice of the spirit. I mean, yeah it was cool. But the spirit just came down to talk sense so whatever. She listened and watched and waited while Dawnstar called Willowpaw up, only for the apprentice to not show. Stars, that was stupid. And somehow this apprentice managed to get her daddy in trouble! The nerve! Yarrowpaw’s tail lashed a few times, ears flattened. Her anger was not directed at Dawnstar at all, her hazel eyes were searching to see if she could find this Willowpaw. They’ve made an enemy of her, and they should know it!
When Dawnstar dismissed the meeting though, the dilute calico she-cat turned to her mentor. Rage somehow set aside, eagerness now sparkled in her eyes. Ears pricked and alert. “We can start now yeah?” She asked eagerly. The sooner she got started, the sooner she could get stronger and put Mimicpaw in his place!

The chocolate brown kit turned to his sister, flashing a bloodied, toothy grin at her with glee. "The COOLEST-T!" He assured, nodding his head up and down ecstatically. His tail was wagging a mile a minute while he waited quietly patiently as his Mama spoke.
HoundPAW! (He winced visibly at the sudden burst of noise. Ow!!! Ow!!!)
He couldn't contain the trill of high-pitched yips that escaped him, spinning excitedly in a circle a few times before his own vision got blurry. He was an APPRENTICE! He could go outside of CAMP! He was going to train sosososoo MUCH and become the bestest warrior EVER! It took a moment for Houndpaw to realize who their mentors were. He stopped, blinking slowly before glancing around. Wuut. Wut. Wut.
GROTTOKIT GOT MAMA?
He whirled around, squinting his golden eyes suspiciously at him - even scrunching his nose up. Well, clearly this simply meant Mama didn't trust his brother to be on his own. Duh. He needed EXTRA supervision clearly. On the other paw, Houndpaw clearly had bragging rights. He got their other Mama. He hadn't really spoken to the one-eyed molly much, or, or really at all? She was scary looking.
It was obvious Mama gave him to her because he too was scary. Definitely.
Without another thought, Houndpaw sprinted towards his new found mentor at the speed of light. "HAI MAMA MIS-S...ss...st-t-t, " The apprentice paused, eyebrows furrowing with frustration. NO!!!! He was STUCK on her name. It took him a while but eventually he would force out, a quick "lleee!" That counted, right? His neck jerked before he leaned up on his pawbeans to try and touch his nose against her.
"When can we g,go out-t int-to da t-territ-tory? Nooow? Aft-t-ter meeting? P-p-please?" He inquired, quite insistently.
Hawkbite remained huddled into the deputy as he'd acknowledge his name being called for mentoring Weepingpaw. His gaze would shift to the feline, nearly his size already -- not that he was very large to begin with. If Weepingpaw looked his direction or approached, Hawkbite would greet him warmly. However, he'd be cautious. This one was known for biting, yikes. His eyes would also drift to Hollowpaw, blinking her an... apology? He'd felt like he was slacking with her, having to train everyone else, too. Hopefully Weepingpaw would give him more initiative to get back on their training. [ @harbinger @Moonraven ]
Next came the normal chanting of warrior names followed by the question that everyone seems to he disagreeing with. The Commanders ears perked up and when he felt it was a good time to talk, he'd be interrupted by.... YELLOWTWIST?? Hawkbite stared at the dead cat for a moment, blinking in disbelief and nudging Mistlewhisker a few times to see if she was also seeing this. "Th- that can't be a good omen, can it?" he'd ask, looking towards Dawnstar then towards his girlfriend.
Anyways, he'd shut his jaw, after having it agape without knowing. Time to address the question now. "I say we bring him in. Different name, maybe even throw some new scars on him. Make him more unrecognizable to ThunderClan. Ban him from Gatherings if you're worried, tell the clan to keep their traps shut," Hawkbite glanced around at the nearby warriors before looking towards the leader. "Pry him for knowledge, anything from battle tractics they used to anything we should know about their territory. Future advantages."
Hawkbite finished, his tail waving behind him, smacking Mistlewhiskers legs and haunches in his though process. Once all fell quiet, he sat and waited for the vote.

Mistlewhisker hummed with amusement at Houndpaw's insistence they start training. "Tomorrow we will go hunting, but tonight you learn how to do various chores around camp." That's right. Mistlewhisker was that type of mentor. She hadn't treated Gutsgnaw the same due to bite already being an apprentice before she was assigned to teeth, but she'd acted similarly with Squirrelrise and Quillpaw. Creature of habit, she supposed.
Mistlewhisker leaned over to Weepingpaw as he nommed on Hawkbite's tail, her own tail coming to stroke his back if he allowed it. "Careful biting strangers, Weepingpaw. You don't know where they've been." Her eye twinkled briefly with mischief before she turned back to the meeting.
It seemed most had come to the same consensus. Foxstep was to be turned away. Mistlewhisker, having no strong feelings on the matter, moved on quickly. Her belief in StarClan was firm but also nebulous, her perception of their ancestors more of a guiding hand rather than a collection of dead spirits.
Dawnstar continued with news on the owl patrol. Good, it was time they got that territory back. They could use it for the prey. Mistlewhisker pushed herself to her paws, then leaned into a deep stretch before standing over her new apprentice. "Come along, we have work to do. After, we will eat with your siblings as a celebration." The Deputy flicked an ear in farewell to Hawkbite, moving towards the dens with Houndpaw, if he chose to follow.
