Hollowpaw
‘The Hauntress’

Shadow Fiend: Inactive | Chill of Death: Permanently Active
[ black and white cat, blue and amber eyes. face and shoulder scarring. | she/they ]

[ #VGCHollow ]
➢ Apprenticeship after Apprenticeship. This was not new for anyone, so Hollowpaw felt no obligation to get up and greet Weepingpaw formally. His mother already grabbing her lost attention. …What was she even talking about? Why ask for opinions if she didn’t care- Nevermind. It didn’t matter now. Hollowpaw would simply remove herself from the conversation. Standing up and moving through the crowd before stopping dead in her tracks. Why did he look at her like that?!

Why did he look so…apologetic? What did he do? What had she done? Was he doing that because of getting another Apprentice? That surly had to be the reason and totally not her just jumping to conclusions, she would like never do that! Totally! Blue and amber eyes catch his blinking regardless, it caused her to raise an eyebrow in confusion for a heartbeat or two before her eyes located the dark brown cat. Paws back in motion as they approached from behind the Commander. Avoiding any true contact with Weepingpaw as if she didn’t pick him up moments prior. They had to be like super dark and mysterious or whatever, you know? Instead, as she faced Hawkbite, they would give the other Apprentice a glance from the corner of her vision, it was distrusting and held words that she would not say, pure disdain.

The ghost in the clearing was something they had no mind, purely because she was off in la la land the moment the former Enforcer appeared, even now it was clear in her eyes that her mind was elsewhere as they spoke. Avoiding eye contact with the Commander and staring low; at his paws. Her tongue laced with unclear irritation that had clearly built up over the past moon or two. “Hawkbite, Commander, sir…?” Uncertainty on what exactly to call him, even after three (almost four) moons of training. “I wish you the best with Weepingpaw, let me know if you require anything….” Cutting herself off as an urge to give off a somewhat decent impression. Though her voice was quiet with the statement.

…and congratulations. I look forward to training with you…” Husky and holding untold emotion, was it jealousy? Anger? Or just general frustration? Hollowpaw didn’t know and she didn’t care to figure it out, that was for her roleplayer to deal with after all! With her word store being sucked dry they leave. Turning straight to the Apprentice den and entering the darkened den.

Sleepysunrise
[ 14 moons | She / Her | Shc Medicine Cat | Shadow Fiend ]

The owl patrol... She remembered Miss Grandmama stating the could be bait alongside that other warrior, a curse of her small size to be sure, and Sleepysunrise still didn't know how she felt about that specific sentiment; basically being compared to owl fodder. A bit of a pout could be seen tracing her face thinking back about that. And totally not a way for her grandmother to get rid of her, right? She wondered if Miss Grandmama still wanted her on the patrol as bait. Or if she would be banned from attending at all - for what it's worth, as much as she didn't want to be fed to owl by her family's paws, she would still rather attend. Besides, part of that was her plan, the one she made and came up with. It was only right for her to attend in that case.

Heeeeeey! Did he wanna fight? Weepingpaw shook his head frantically after the cuff he got by his mentor's tail. The apprentice was ready to try and munch the tail again when he felt another tail on his back. His head whipped around to chomp until he saw who the tail belonged to. It was just Mamawhisker. His head tilts itself after he registers her words, he had to be careful who he bit. Why? Was Bite stinky? The older tom didn't smell bad to him. Weepingpaw knew better than to stick bad-smelling things near his mouth.

He wanted to ask, but Momster's voice was booming again. He did not want to draw the leader's ire, so he sat, hearing but not listening, and occasionally swung a paw out to try and catch Bite's tail between his paws so he could nip the tail tip. While his paws were busy he tried to figure out what Bite was to Mamawhisker. They were too close, Momster never let anyone touch her that wasn't family, most cats were too scared to he was sure.

He'd said Mamawhisker was at least as half as scary as Momster. Did she always let cats lean on her or wack her with their tail? Oh! Maybe! Maybe! "Out! Never out been I." Weepingpaw's train of thought derailed at the mention of a tour. He shot to his paws, tail raised high, and bounced towards Bite. He was sticking everything in his mouth!

Weepingpaw froze mid-pawstep when he heard his name. This time it was from the rude cat. Curiosity twinkled in his big orange eyes when he learned that Rude was training with Bite. Weepingpaw had to share Bite with Rude! He parted his maw to complain about this, but something about Rude that made him pause. Was she mad? Sad? He couldn't put his paw on it but it made him feel icky. He would have cuddled her since cuddles made him feel better. But she was gone before he had a chance.

He'd cuddle her and forgive her when he found her later. Weepingpaw trotted the rest of the way to his mentor and waited for him to lead the way out.

Pantherpaw
medium-furred, dark brown mackerel tabby with white paws, hazel eyes
purrks: n/a
he/him | shc apprentice | 5 moons

The longer he waited for his name, the longer he felt his paws growing numb by the cold creeping into them. He was entirely ignorant of his sibling’s antics in the gathered crowd, only hearing bits of what they were doing. Honestly, sometimes he wished that he wasn’t the runt of his litter. Maybe then he would have earned some rightful respect within his crippling littermates. It wasn’t hard for him to notice that most of his littermates were suspiciously disappearing without a trace. Where were they going? Did they even care about the family? About mother? Irritation gouged at his insides, prompting the tom to glance towards the camp entrance with mist vapor puffing out his nostrils, burning the sensitive hairs enclaved by the cold. His thoughts quickly transpired as soon as he heard Dawnstar call out his new name, pride quickly swelling in his chest as he realigned himself abruptly. Pantherpaw. He was no longer Pantherkit, but Pantherpaw. The upper corners of his lips swirled into a placid grin, a rare feat the naturally observant tom provided. All he could hope for was to make his mother proud of him eventually. It was the last thing any child would want in their life, after all.

Hazel orbs swirled over towards the mention of his adjoined apprentice partner and mentor, distinguishing both the tabby and bicolored tom-cat particularly quickly than one would have noted. He would have to keep both of their names in mind if they were going to be around for a while. However, he was quick to notice the look his partnering apprentice gave him, almost a look of… cockiness? Confidence? Irritability? He couldn’t tell, but his mother had always wanted him to remain respectful towards his clan-mates, even if they decided to be anything but mannerful. Pantherpaw decided to quietly observe Mimicpaw, lending him a subtle greeting with a flick of a tufted ear while the other remained erect to listen to his mother lending the meeting. He didn’t know if Mimicpaw would consider his greeting to be taken seriously all the while, but it was better to be polite than to bear out fangs dripped with poison to cause trouble for his mother. Owlthroat, on the other paw, seemed different. Not by much, but it was notable at best. He seemed close with Mimicpaw—was he his son?

It would explain a lot. The both of them seemed to bear equal traits of pride and confidence, and Mimicpaw seemed to adore the bicolored tom-cat gratefully. Pantherpaw didn’t know if he would come across any trouble with the duo, but all he could hope for was that Owlthroat would keep his son under control from doing something he’d later regret with consequences, especially with him being an Enforcer and all. Speaking of the rank, at some point in training, he would have to question the older tom how to acquire such status. Throughout his short life, he had grown interested in the mentions of warriors becoming Enforcers and growing increasing amounts of respect in the clan. Pantherpaw wanted to reach a level of that, someday. Rookfire was one once, he knew that when he taught him the basics of hunting, and his small, young mind was fascinated with the thought of impressing his mother for him to one day make him one herself. It would take a long period for him to achieve such status, but it was better to grow ambitious than to remain idle and not crave the idea in the slightest. Perhaps after this meeting, he would speak with his mother about the rank.

Speaking of the meeting, he almost glossed over the warrior ceremonies that his mother was performing. He didn’t know who the three were, but they would at least be ceremonies he would be able to observe for the first time and know what it would be like once he received his name someday. He internalized the words Dawnstar spewed, certain that he would memorize them for the day his ceremony came. He ignored the words that Owlthroat stated about taking both himself and Mimicpaw hunting after the meeting was over. Naturally, he would be thrilled to hear such news, and he would be able to use the skills he learned from Rookfire to the test with real prey. Not a moss-ball, but something breathing and living. Could it be considered strange that he was excited about it? Probably not. Any apprentice would be excited to receive any ounce of training in their lifetime. However, before he could focus on anything else, Flytail’s words caught his attention and he was almost half tempted to stare the tom in the face.

Laziness? Pantherpaw was anything but lazy. He was fairly active during his kithood; learning about the basics of hunting, and a little bit about stealth from Bleedingpaw. So where the hell was Flytail getting the interpretation that he was lazy from? Pupils narrowed down into slits as he stared at the dark warrior, his white-tipped tail lashing against the whalebone white-colored snow to try to counter the irritability flourishing through his system, burning hot ire that scorched and refused to stop burning its' holes through his mind. Even if it was just mild irritability, it was red hot, coursing itself through his veins and turning capillaries into ash as it passed by. As many times as he tried to snuff it out, he couldn't; slowly, but surely, it grew burning hot again. He didn’t want to feel irritated at the tom. Truth be told he absolutely hated the feeling. But he was blatantly stating lies that even the young ‘paw knew wasn’t true in the slightest.

Before he could retort anything, Owlthroat had been quick to defend the young tom, which stunned him momentarily. He didn’t even know the Enforcer, but he was quick to defend him so suddenly that it surprised him. His mother really made the right call to make Owlthroat his mentor if he was going to defend him from any ounce of unnecessary disturbances from other cats, especially with being the son of Dawnstar herself. Pantherpaw watched the bicolored tom if only for a moment before gearing his attention back up towards his mother. He’ll thank him later, but now he just wanted to focus on his mother more than anything until this meeting was over. Hazycry, Coyoteblossom, and Wormbelly. He didn’t join in on the chanting, as he felt that it was overbearing and his ear rang from the loud yowling. Tufted ears pressed against his head as he watched his clan-mates cheer for the new warriors. He supposed this was a common thing that he was going to have to grow accustomed to, even if he absolutely hated the loud noise.

He couldn’t quite understand why he despised it so much, perhaps it was just something he couldn’t handle as well as his other clan-mates could. It was just too much for his sensitive ears to handle, that’s all. Thankfully for his own sake, the cheering didn’t last long and it moved on towards reassignments, in which he was fairly used to seeing throughout his kithood. Did warriors ever properly train their apprentices or did they just disappear without a trace and leave them struggling to find mentors to train them? It had to be something along the lines of that, because he simply couldn’t take it into proper accountability without wondering if that was the case itself. His whiskers twitched momentarily, ignoring the odd feeling in his gut as he cocked his head to the side listening to the request his mother was going to make to the clan. It wasn’t often she shared something that would be decided on a personal note, so it had to be important. The news in question was about a cat he didn’t know in the slightest, but even so, hearing the crimes he committed didn’t make his insight on him anything worthy of remembering on a positive note.

Bringing young apprentices to a fight that didn’t bear a lick of battle training wasn’t a good sign in the slightest for the former deputy. Ignorance wasn’t something anyone tolerated, and he knew this despite his young age. Anyone who acted with such insufferable behavior weren’t welcomed into ShadowClan, even if they begged and pleaded that they would change in the future. It was always a lie. Insufferable, intolerable lies. He wanted to make his piece out in the open, but his clan-mates had already beaten him to it before he could otherwise do so. So, in forth, he decided to keep himself quiet, observing the opinions his clan shared and agreeing with them in silent observance. Adding a former member from ThunderClan would only induce tensions no one would want to inquire about, and if he endangered the lives of apprentices, who would ensure that he wouldn’t do it again? Such insufferable behavior wasn’t something anyone would change from in a heartbeat, and it isn’t often that you see a cat getting themselves executed or tossed out to the wilderness to fend for themselves.

But… a few cats did make a good point if he were to stay. Hawkbite’s opinions especially wracked something in his young brain, and Pantherpaw took a moment to consider them. If Foxstep were to get accepted into ShadowClan, this would give them plenty of an advantage to learn about ThunderClan, even if it meant forcing the information out of his enclosed jaws if he were to not be corporate. Granting him a different title and bathing his pelt with scarring would likely do more good than harm, right? It would hide his identity at best, but keep him from attending gatherings to not draw sudden suspicion. It was a good idea, but a risky one at best. Pantherpaw was conflicted to say the least, one side of himself wishing to agree and nod along to the ideas Hawkbite is spewing, but the other wishing to think more logically for what would be deemed best for the clan itself. Foxstep was already more of a danger as it is with his proven negligence for young youth like himself, so the more he thought about it, the more negative Pantherpaw found his vote being, and it seemed that the random spirit within his camp agreed to it. Seriously, how did it get there? Did it just spawn in from outta nowhere or something?

Truth be told, Pantherpaw didn’t care, but he didn’t want the weird astronomical being to stay. He didn’t look like he belonged at all within the real world; he was too… translucent, to say the least. Observing the spirit for a few moments longer before he vanished out of existence, the young tom-cat decided to keep the other feline’s appearance to mind, with his naming being Yellowtwist from what he has supposedly heard from his clan-mates stating it out of sheer shock or disbelief. The corners of his mouth twisted into a hard line as his expression hardened, betraying little to no emotion that he didn’t wish to expel. It would only show him as weak, and he wasn’t willing to show himself like many others wanted to. Staring at the darkened spirit for only a perpetual second, the runt of the litter focused back towards his mother to hear her continue the meeting and grant her final verdict on the scenario. He didn’t stop the way his lips quivered the moment she rejected the offer of Foxstep joining ShadowClan. It services him right, after what he has done.

He didn’t deserve to be within their ranks anyway, no ThunderClan fool deserves to walk the ranks of their own after they decided to indulge in their own foolishness. They made the mistakes that caused the consequences of their actions, and now they paid the price. With that whole drama out of the way, it seemed they were going to be receiving another warrior to their ranks… or not. It seemed that the absent Willowpaw didn’t decide to show her face once his mother called for her name. What kind of small-minded fool would do such a thing? It was the most extraordinary moment of your life to earn your full name, how could you just miss it by being an utter fool? A corner of his mouth twitched into a quiet snarl as he eyed the wide entrance of the apprentice’s den; a place where he would be moving to and deal with the sounds of other apprentices. Could Willowpaw still be in there ignorant to his mother’s calling? Most likely, he could already feel the colossal molly’s wrathful stare land onto his mentor as she barked for him to tell him exactly why she missed her ceremony or else she would be going clanless. That was the last thing anyone would want within any clan.

Moving past that crazed scenario, Pantherpaw listened as his mother regarded the owls that took over Mourning Ruins and about their recently appointed medicine cats. It wasn’t anything he found too interesting, given he couldn’t come along to assist his mother’s aid all because he was too young and lacked battle training. It was reasonable enough; he was the smallest of his litter and wasn’t the most muscular unlike most of his litter. He hoped that would change as time progressed with his training, though. As soon as his mother dismissed the meeting, he quickly rose himself to his paws, sweeping away stray snowflakes that clung to his thick coat as he marched his way to investigate the apprentice’s den that he would be staying in until he earned his full name. He hated it, but he may as well deal with it if he were to become an Enforcer to make his mother proud. He would learn to push through it, one way or another.

High Rank Announcement [#hrannouncement]

Dawnstar's tail lashed as she strolled out of her den and into the clearing. She lifted her head and twitched her nose as a snowflake landed on top of it. A stream of white flakes steadily fell from the dark gray clouds overhead. Dawnstar shook off the flakes that accumulated on her back while walking to the Grimpeak.

She gingerly walked halfway up the Grimpeak, ensuring that she wouldn't be plummeting off due to ice or frost, and sat down as she reached the peak. "ShadowClan join beneath the Grimpeak for a Clan meeting." The leader's roar was as boisterous and demanding as ever. While waiting for them, she used her tail to sweep the fresh snow gathered on the peak and brushed it off uncaring about who it rained on below. She plopped herself down on her haunches once the old bark below was.

The Silent Vixen
| PLEASE NOTE THAT VIXEN IS MUTE! |

Vixenkit yawned sleepily as she padded from the nursery. A meeting? That sounds interesting.. She thought trotting over. Vixen had never been to a meeting- Well- Obviously it was her first in her only few days, maybe even a moon of life. Maybe she shouldn’t be here. Warriors and apprentices probably were the only ones allowed to be there. Thats when she noticed a kit padding over. Perhaps she was allowed.. Guess I’m going in. Vixenkit thought, tail trailing behind her as she padded over towards the group, staying in the back.

ROOKFIRE
[ he/him | shadowclan warrior | early 20s ]
[ purrks ]
rookfire blinked groggily across the clearing until the meaning of dawnstars call settled in his mind. snow was quickly shaken from his dark pelt before rookfire leapt from his sleeping spot into the clearing. tail twitching with barely concealed curiosity, he supressed a shudder, white tipped paws carrying him across the clearing and towards his usual meeting spot quickly. rook realised pleasantly that he was early enough to avoid having to snake his way through the unorganised crowd. things had been..interesting.. to say the least so he quietly hoped for no company this meeting. even briarsplash, whom he probably liked best out of all enforcers wasnt really welcome this time around. head turned towards dawnstar, rookfire blinked the snowflakes from his eyes.
