New warriors! Honeykit chanted their names, less hesitantly than she had in the past. Slowly but surely, she was learning that no cat was paying attention to you, or the way you chanted new names. She still did it quietly, though, ‘cause loud was scary. Her ears perked up at her new friend’s… friend’s? Clanmate’s? She settled on simply Pepperkit’s. Pepperkit’s name.
Flytail
45 Moons
He/Him
Flytail glanced at Eveningpaw with a slight, almost imperceptible flick of his ears, his usual grumpiness softened by a quiet sense of purpose. His blue eyes met hers for a moment, and he exhaled sharply, settling into a more comfortable stance. "Eveningpaw, right? I suppose it’s about time you had a mentor who actually knows how things should be done," he said, his tone still firm but not unkind. "Listen, I’m not here to hold your paw or entertain you with empty praise. I’ll train you to be sharp, strong, and ready for anything. You’ll learn the way I work, and if you can keep up, we’ll make a good team." He paused, his gaze narrowing thoughtfully. "I don’t expect you to stay cheerful every second. Life’s not like that, especially not in the wild. But if you can stay focused and determined, you’ll learn a lot. That’s the real challenge." Flytail flicked his tail to the side and gave a short, sharp nod. Then he turned to walk a little further, but after a few steps, he stopped, glancing back over his shoulder. His eyes gleamed with a glint of calculation, and he motioned with his tail for Eveningpaw to sit beside him.
"Sit. We’re not running around yet," he ordered, his voice steady but commanding. "I want to see what you’ve got." As she settled beside him, he lowered his voice just a touch, though there was a slight, smug edge to it. "Don’t get too comfortable. I’ll be training you, but I’m not going to waste time with pointless games. I’ve got a lot more to show you—just you wait." He allowed himself a small, private smirk as his mind wandered for a moment. He was already thinking about how to rub this success in his brother Owlthroat’s face. He could practically see the look on Owlthroat’s face when he realized that Flytail, not him, was the one with a capable apprentice. Flytail’s tail flicked behind him, almost impatient with the thought, but his gaze remained sharp and focused on Eveningpaw.
"Willowwood, Magpiecove, Cinderspark!" The tom joined in the chants, before awaiting Dawnstar's next words. Reassignments, same old same old. Then the owls? He tilted his head. How come he wasn't chosen, how come he didn't even know? The tortoiseshell felt it begin to brew inside him - did he not seem strong enough? Stealthy enough? What was he doing wrong? Perhaps Dawnstar had sensed his nervousness. That would make sense. It was true, he was relieved to not be owl bait, but still... Whatever, he'd just have to try harder, he thought, digging his claws into the ice below him.
Wildstorm’s ears swiveled forward. Another apprentice? Fine with her. Hopefully Wintergreenpaw wouldn’t go getting demoted before she could train him some. The scruffy she-cat rose to her paws, gaze flickering around to locate the apprentice she figured was her’s, the totally lost expression on his face kinda gave it away. With a mental sigh, Wildstorm strode confidently over to the -paw, reaching down to touch noses with him. “Congrats kid.” She meowed, her voice a little bit gruff but her words no less genuine.
Deerpaw glanced excitedly at Canopypaw, eyes sparkling with delight. “Good luck!” She chirped, touching her nose to his before bouncing away in search of Quietraven.
Bramblepaw blinked in confusion, did he hear that right? A reassignment? Hillstrider. He was unfamiliar with this warrior. What happened to Ratflame? Bramblepaw couldn't help a pang of...sadness. He hadn't felt this sadness in a long time...not since his sister went missing. Is Ratflame okay? Or did she simply decide...she didn't want to mentor him anymore? The golden tabby tom tried to shove these feelings down and away, now wasn't the time. His gaze flickered around the clearing, searching for who this new mentor was.

He watched the leader, but his gaze brightened as he watched his friend say Yes. This was it! He’d been waiting for her big moment, he knew she damn well deserved it long before him, and here she was. Then the leader went to give her her name. MagpieCove. Gorgeous name…as expected. Suited her. Everything did, and before he knew it he was rushing towards her aiming to give her a…friendly(?)…tackle-hug. Nothing too big, might throw her off balance a bit…but this guy forgot his tall he got, okay!?
Shewasgonnathrowup. She was addressed first, which made her stomach flip dangerously. Magpiepaw allowed her own face to meet Dawnstar's as her name was given. She held her breath, fur bristling with anticipation. Two traits were given, traits she was actually sure she was worthy of. If self-assured confidence was sandwiched in there, Magpiepaw would've felt odd about said attributes. Was she cocky? Haha, yeah. But she had her reasons. I mean, her confidence wasn't all show, but it was definitely chipping away the longer she lived. A shame, right? But she wasn't about to let anycat know that. She was the Great Magpiepaw! If anything, lying through her teeth is what she did best.
Magpiecove. the tortoiseshell felt her caramel gaze slightly widen. Cove. Cove, cove. Not the suffix she was expecting. It was nonviolent, non-threatening. She was pretty sure a cove was a place. A place and a name she now occupied. She didn't hate it. Nicely neutral, her own ambitions not set and engraved into her own name. A nice change of pace, considering the high standards she often placed on herself. A "magpiecove" wasn't anything, so she could make it something.
Magpiecove dipped her head at the leader, watching and closing her eyes as Dawnstar's chin touched her head, probably only drawing attention to her height. Yeah, yeah, she was short, TOMATO, TOMATO, TOMATO!!! Think of something creativeeee. She wiggled her nose, orderly fur likely ruffled just a tad from her own shivering and spasms of excitement.
Haha! Now everycat had to respect her as a colleague or superi---
!!!
"Y-ACK!!" Magpiecove yowled as fur collided with hers, a pelt that was merely a blur in her vision before materializing into dark fur with two matching blue eyes. Magpiecove stammered and shuffled wildly in an attempt to regain her balance. She didn't fall, but her fur was blown out to its fullest length.
Spiderthorn oh Spiderthorn, how she loved loathed him. It was as embarrassing as it was sweet for him to practically tackle her, and she wasn't sure which emotion to express. Grrrrrr. "You--- what?!" She managed, heaving just a bit. "STARSSS you SCARED ME!" And if she was flushing, NO SHE WASN'T. It was COLDDD.
blackpine, he/him, 41 moons
shadowclan warrior
a large black tom with one emerald green eye.
Blackpine hadn't been standing under the Grimpeak for this meeting. He was moreso listening from the warriors' den- bad manners, yes, but it was still cold out. And he wanted to fluff up his nest anyways. Anything Dawnstar said he missed, he could hear from his clanmates afterwards.
So he wrongly assumed that nothing regarding him would be said, because why would it be? But after a few minutes from the meeting starting, Greenapple peeked her head into the den, glaring at him in a "come here" way.
Of course, Blackpine listened. He dropped what he was doing and padded over, looking at her curiously. "What is it, apple?"
"You. Mentor. To Honeysucklepaw."
Oh no. Well, oh yes, Blackpine would obviously happy to have a new apprentice. But he wasn't out there yet! Blackpine thanked Greenapple with a nose bump to her forehead, before rushing out to the Grimpeak. Honeysucklepaw was gray and white with yellow eyes, the type of fur that was easily findable in a crowd, so this shouldn't be too hard.
Once he spotted the young apprentice, Blackpine appeared from behind him, hopefully not startling Honeysucklepaw too bad. "Hey. So, I'm your mentor now?" He tried sounding relatively serious, but there was a slight purr in his voice. There wasn't use keeping up appearances for too long- though Blackpine felt like he was capable teacher, for the most part, he hoped that Honeysucklepaw would learn to treat him as a friend. He didn't want to be the type of mentor who's apprentices cowed before him.
"If you'd like to start training now, after the meeting we can go out of camp. Or we could wait. Your choice."
Honeysucklepaw grinned, nodding in response "Yeah! I'm so excited to start training! I'd love to go out as soon as the meeting is done!" He said, his tail waving behind him
(sorry this is short i promise honeysuckle posts will get longer lol)
Wintergreenpaw stared up at his mentor in awe, a purr escaping his maw. T-thanks! He purred, his eyes lighting up. We could start training soon, right? He murmured, touching noses with the she-cat.
{ @Luna16 }
Eveningkit stared cheered for the new warriors. He'd be an apprentice soon!
Tortoiseshell she-cat with yellow eyes | scarring- right back ankle
Turtlepaw smiled as she yelled out Willowwood's name, maybe Willow would just be as excited as she is right now when she gets done training with Rookfire? But her excitement didn't last long as Dawnstar demanded her to come now, and not just her but Meadowwhisper as well?
Confused but more so curious, the young molly padded forth to her Leader, "Yes ma'am?" Turtlepaw asked as she slowly but quickly dipped her head in respect.
And there it was! Another older sibling stepping officially into adulthood and ready to take on the world. They were down members, fractured more then a bit, but it was a happy feeling nontheless. Sleepysunrise, Birdecho, Quietraven, and now "CINDERSPARK! CINDERSPARK! CINDERSPARK!!!" he hoped she was proud of herself and the work she put in and understood he was proud of her too.
It was probably a good thing the connotations of her name hadnt even clicked, Scorpionpaw had catapulted him into a better mood then he'd been in since he found out about Lostspark and the realization wouldve ruined that. Hopefully Cinderspark too wasnt rocked by the name.
Who was next up then who was left? It had to be Wispypaw right? Quillpaw had recently gone the way of many siblings but if she was close then Bleedingpaw might just join her as warrior in the same meeting considering his own progress.
@Neptune. (not tagging the 1000 siblings mentioned)
[Scorpionpaw]
ShadowClan Apprentice

The worst thing about asking Scorp to clean up the mess she made, was that she was only sitting on one side of Bleedingpaw. So while Mama said her announcements and she listened to their chanting, Scorp was busying herself with cleaning the sleet off the Bengal she ruined. She'd wipe the slush with her tail or paws then rasp her tongue in the way his pelt was growing to sleek it down. She really could clean a coat up. She was mostly done with this side, too.
Unfortunately for the other apprentice, Scorp was unaware there was a whole other side to clean. So when Mama finished her announcements and dismissed the clan, Scorp gave him a cheery smile, patted him on the back and darted away before he could say anything. "See you around Bleedingpaw!" She'd call over her shoulder, darting to the closest warrior to pester them about training. This left Bleedingpaw looking half-baked. Half of his pelt was still a mess.

The lanky black furred shecat padded to her leader. Yellow eyes narrowed in question. Her tail rested on Turtlepaws shoulder in a silent greeting
