Asterkit strutted into the clearing, sitting down with his head tilted up. He sniffed heartily and half closed his eyes.

Littlepaw stood there a moment, stunned. It's not often that somecat shows concern for me... he glanced up at the elder, his wide blue eyes shining with gratefulness and slight confusion. "I, uh, think I'm okay..." he squeaked, his small tail tuft twitching. Settling back on his haunches and shuffling his paws, he mewed, "Thank you" and dipped his head. His whiskers quivered thoughtfully.
"Uh, do you need me to do anything for you? I can always give you fresh bedding for your nest, or grab you a piece of prey from the fresh-kill pile..." he cringed inwardly; he was trying to make conversation, and all he could say was that. What happened to 'how are you?' or 'how has your day been?' or 'will you play a game with me?'

Well, at least I am being helpful... he felt a little better with that, giving himself a small nod of satisfaction. He glanced at Firehawk, listening for his response.
