"Thanks." Toka padded past them, glancing at Kion. "You coming?"
Kion's eyes lit up.
"No he is not." Mufasa glared at his son, wrapping his tail around Kion and pulling him close.
"But-!"
Toka huffed, growling. "What's with the sudden need to protect him? From Scar of all lions?"
"I know my brother." Mufasa's eyes sharpened. "It's not Scar hurting him that I'm worried about. Its.."
Kion realized it at the same time that Toka did.
"Well." Toka looked taken aback.
"Wow!" Kion exploded, jerking himself out of Mufasa's grip and leaping back, fur bristling as he backed away to Toka's side. "Just wow! You think he's gonna get me on his side! You think I'm gonna turn out like him!"
Mufasa cringed. "Kion-"
"No!" Kion laughed. "No, I see it all now. You only show up when Scar's involved. Or the Lion Guard. Or me potentially turning evil. The advice, all of it. That was never for me, it was for you! You think I'm gonna turn into Scar. Now I understand!"
Toka gently flicked his tail across Kion's shoulders. "Calm down, child."
"Oh, I'm calm." Kion was grinning ear to ear. "Trust me. And hey, Grandfather," His eyes met Mufasa's. "You're so scared of me turning evil, why dont'cha just end me now before I have the chance? Because if you're not careful, Mufasa, one day you might have to." He chuckled, then backed away, then spun around and shot in the direction Scar had gone.
Toka stood there a moment, eyes flickering from Simba to Mufasa. Then, he spun around and bounded after the cub.
Mufasa let out a groan, squeezing his eyes shut. "No!"

Simba put a paw on Mufasa. "Let them go, father." He said. "Have a little faith in them."

Scar sat a small time away,
waiting.

Mufasa nodded, closing his eyes.

Kion skidded to a stop when he reached Scar.
Toka crouched to lunge at once, baring his teeth.
"Wait." Kion said breathlessly. The look in his eyes wasn't murderous as he looked up at Scar. In fact there was something else there. Something... Like...

Admiration.

Scar watched the sky for a while.
"I guess I should get going to...." Scar stopped when he saw Tokka and Kion. "Yes?" He asked.

"Murderer." Toka hissed.
"Genius." Kion grinned.
"What?" Toka jerked out of the crouch, shocked.
"Grandfather's so worried about me turning evil." Kion's claws sunk into the ground. "Even Dad looks at me like I'm gonna turn on him one day. Well I'm done trying to fight it for their sake. I'm done being something I'm not." He whirled around to narrow his eyes at Toka. "The joy of killing you was the best thing I've ever felt."
Toka backed up, eyes wide.
"Exhilarating." Kion growled. "I felt powerful. I wonder." His eyes drifted toward Pride Rock, and a wicked smirk made its way to his face. "Boy do I wonder.."

Scar looked at Kion, a serious look on his face. With speed nobody could even comprehend, he was behind Toka, pinning him to the ground. "If killing him the first time was so amazing," He said looking down at Toka with an evil grin. "Then do it again."

Kion's grin widened.
"Kion!" Toka struggled to get away as the cub padded forward. "NO!"
"Sorry, Uncle." Kion didn't sound very sorry at all as he stopped in front of him, looking down with cold amber eyes, which sparked with red. And then suddenly his claws were twisting into Toka's throat.
Toka screamed, trying to wriggle free.
"Kill him."
Kion's ears flicked at the familiar voice, and his mind flashed back.

Kion hissed at Toka as he backed away. His eyes were glazed over, half-crazed. But broken.
"Kill him! Kill him! Kill him!"
The tigers yelled from above, and Kion glanced up. Him and Toka were in a ditch, the fighting ring Lucifer had made. Kion's face was blank.
"Let's talk about this." Toka started, taking a step forward.
Kion snarled at him, baring his teeth.
"Okay, no talking." Toka backed away.
Kion's eyes darkened as he padded forward, slowly. The tigers cheered, but Kion was deaf to every sound.
"Kion." Toka's eyes widened. "No. Please. Come on."
Kion hissed, eyes flashing. When he was only an inch away he stopped.
"Kion." Toka's eyes shut tight, waiting.
Kion lifted a paw and placed it on Toka's muzzle, shushing him, then let his claws trail down until they reached Toka's throat. The older lion shuddered slightly, knowing his death was coming very soon, and Kion's lips curved into a slight smirk.
Suddenly his eyes flickered up and landed on the one saber-tooth tiger that would haunt him for life. Literally.
"Kill him." Lucifer smiled sadistically.
And Kion's claws slashed right over Toka's throat without hesitation.

Kion stood there, eyes glazed over with that same look. His claws sank into Toka's throat, almost mechanically. Not enough to kill him yet, however, but close to it.

Scar stopped Kion before he could go any deeper. He pulled Toka away. "I know you have the strength to get up." He growled
"Tell the others what happened. And if anyone dares tries to stop this, they'll wind up dead."He picked him up and threw him back the way he had come from.

Toka snarled, backing away. With one last glanced toward Kion, he turned and shot off, back toward Mufasa and Simba.
Kion watched him go, then slowly turned around and looked up.
Lucifer stood there, a disappointed look in his eyes as he watched Toka go, then looked down at Kion, raising an eyebrow.
