Speckledrose trotted through the forest with her apprentice, Moonpaw at her side. She turned to look at her a couple of times, not really believing she had an apprentice. Finally, they came to Speckledrose's favorite mouse spot. Speckledrose stopped in her tracks and turned completely around to address her apprentice.
"So Moonpaw, this is the best place in the whole forest for mice. Well, at least in most cat's opinion. Here is where I will teach you the hunter's crouch and how to catch mice."

"Have you ever seen the basic hunter's crouch?"

After the mangy rogue's long-winded pity fest, the silver she-cat snorts. This guy was delusional! "You're an old fart and nobody even speaks your name, you batty mangy ass. And you are on ThunderClan territory, so you can get off it. Now. Go, crawl back to whatever sad little hole you sleep in at night." She stares at him scornfully, as if she were looking at something so vile and repulsive that she didn't even consider it worth looking at.

He snorted,” Figures Riverclan doesn’t speak much of me...I’m their shameful failure cat...” he snorted,”What gives Thunderclan the right to take the territory of many loners and rogues, don’t you have enough territory?” he asked, he was prepared for the apprentice to attack, but he didn’t make a move.

Moonpaw padded into the forest beside her mentor. The different scents were overwhelming, making her dizzy. She nearly crashed into her mentor when Speckledrose stopped suddenly, explaining that the place was best for hunting mice. "Um, I kind of know it? Maybe?" Moonpaw mumbled. "Is it like this?" She dropped into a crouch, haunches raised high in the air, tail waving. "Oof!" she yelped when she lost her balance and fell onto her face. "Yeah... I don't think I did it right."

"Quit whining about how crap your life is- Here's a clue for you, I don't give a rat's ass," she spits at Lobsterbreath. "And I'm not in any position to have to share jack squat with the likes of you- I wouldn't even wipe my ass with your pelt. Get away from the kit, and get OFF of our territory. I won't say it again." Her tone had dropped into a threatening growl now.

Speckledrose chuckled at Moonpaw's enthusiasm. "Like that except try to keep your tail flat out. If it is up, you will have a hard time balancing and the prey will see you. If it is too low, your tail will brush the undergrowth or grass and alert the prey. Like this."
She demonstrated by crouching down with her tail flat out, her paws were barely touching the ground it seemed, as she stealthily crept around Moonpaw.

He narrowed his eyes,” Fine we’ll leave. But I’m taking Shadow with me, she clearly needs someone to train her.” He glared back and beckoned Shadow to follow

"That's so awesome! I can't even hear you!" Moonpaw mewed excitedly. Immediately, she dropped into a crouch with her tail stretched flat out, and crept forward, trying not to step on anything that would make noise.

Moonpaw raised her nose to sniff the air. Something warm and furry assaulted her nose, and she looked to the roots of a nearby tree. There! A mouse sat beneath the tree, nibbling on a seed. "Is that...?" Moonpaw whispered to her mentor.
