Hazelpaw

She remained perfectly silent throughout the wholemeeting, not even when new apprentixces were made. It wasn't great news for her, because it meant Hazelpaw had to make space for the new apprentices. She already had a small nest that was hardly comfortable. Hazelpaw just couldn't wait to move into the warriors' den, where there would be more SPACE and no whiny, loud six-moon-aged apprentices tha syaed up late at night.

Now Snakeheart, the medicine cat, was taking an apprentice? What was her name? Shaking off all her weariness, Hazelpaw craned her neck up, trying to look over the heads of the surrounding cats at the new medicine cat apprentice. Reedpaw, hmm? Hazelpaw watched with sharp, critical eyes as Reedpaw did her oath and ceremony and everything. The light brown tabby suppressed a yawn at how boring it was.

Hazelpaw turned her attention away from Reedpaw, and sat down on her haunches, her ears deaf as Kestrelstar rambled on and on on top of the Streamstone. Ugh, why couldn't he just GET ON with it instead of making boring announcements? He could brighten up Clan life with some excitement. She wished she could be out on the territory, hunting and providing for RiverClan. Jerking out of her grumpy thoughts when she heard her name, Hazelpaw's whiskers twitched, her tail swishing. Forcing it to stay still, Hazelpaw looked up at Kestrelstar. So now he was making some well-ready apprentices into warriors? Finally. Somethng interesting! Hazelpaw rose to her paws, and trotted forward, all in a very dignified way. She wanted to appear professional in front of the whole entire Clan. Standing next to older Reedpaw,, Hazelpaw gazed up at the leader.

Shimmerpaw took a deep breath as she padded forward after Hazelpaw, doing her best to calm her nerves. She hated that the eyes of the entire Clan were on her, but she would have to deal with it. I'm going to be a warrior now! I hope Larksong is proud of me.

Larksong burst out of the warriors den half asleep and sat down by the stream stone upon hearing his apprentices name, though tired to the point he could pass out on the spot he sat eyes wide open stimming happily and excitedly

Kestrelstar had been curious as to what reaction Reedpaw would have at hearing his name. It had been a thought weighing heavy on the RiverClan leader's mind ever since the raid on ThunderClan. The young tom had been astoundingly close to his assessment before his exile, and he couldn't help but wonder if this day would've come sooner had it not been for that. No, for if it hadn't been for the tom scoring his claws through Kestrelstar, the RiverClan leader was afraid the shadows might have taken him for good.

Then there was Hazelpaw, who appeared as though at any moment she might fall asleep. It was concerning, considering she was one of the apprentices being honored as a warrior this meeting. Kestrelstar decided to shelf his worries for now as Shimmerpaw stepped up next to her. All three apprentices were here, and with a graceful bound Kestrelstar leapt from the Streamstone to land just below it, padding forward to stand before the three young cats.

"I, Kestrelstar, leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of our noble code, and I commend them to you as a warriors in their turn.” Allowing his yellow gaze to sweep over the three of them, a small glimmer of excitement lighting them up, he continued; "Reedpaw [ @Kyrkenight ], Hazelpaw
[ @shxmmering ], Shimmerpaw [ @NinjaBloss ], do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do." Shimmerpaw replied confidently. She wouldn't be a nervous wreck now. It was time for her to become a warrior and do her duty to the Clan!

Sandbreeze watched from outside the nursery as the events unfolded in front of her. New apprentice was always fun, less cats to talk to in the nursery and less friends for Frozenkit, but one day he would stand there and become Frozenpaw. Oh she wondered who his mentor would be. Sandbreeze was sure Kestrelstar would pick someone good to take care of her perfect little bundle, maybe their leader could event mentor Frozenkit himself, that would certainly make her kit a perfect warrior, just like Frozenclaws had always said she should be.


Next Snakeheart was called to speak, and while she had heard him say he was looking for an apprentice she was still surprised by his announcement. Reedpaw... one of them at least would now be working by the grumps side and heal others. That seemed very exiting, to get new high-ranks was always something that got the clan going with conversations. Personally the queen wasn't one for gossip on anyone but she still greatly enjoyed talking and interaction with others.


And probably last but certainly not least, new warriors. Shimmerpaw, Hazelpaw and the other Reedpaw were all earning their warriors names. What would they get. Sandbreeze knew she had been very happy with her name, and she hoped the three cats over at the Streamstone would be pleased with their names as well.

"Of course," Reedpaw promised. He may have been exiled for a fair thing, but he would always be loyal to RiverClan.

Lightpaw's ears pricked as the new medicine-cat was announced.
There was a time when she was young were she had wished to one day get that
title, to learn about herbs and Starclan, but after Lightkit and become Lightpaw
that dream had slowly faded into nothingness. Now, after the war, Looncry
disappearance and the short round of mentors she had met, it was noting
but a wage memory of her childhood's naive dreaming.

She shook away the painful thoughts
and focused her light green eyes on the apprentices
who were about to receive their warrior names.
