"You got it boss!" Quailsnap responded upon hearing Sootflare's announcement for patrols. He then stood and padded off, looking for the familiar form of Gentlethunder. If he couldn't find the other warrior soon, Quailsnap would go check the Windclan border himself.

Koikit heard Sugarapple in mid-air as she tried to pounce on Gentlethunder. I don't want to hurt Gentlethunder.. she thought, But I'll still do my best. She aimed toward Gentlethunder again.

The small she-cat smiled at Leafbreeze, hopping around happily. "It's ok! I wan to be able to take in every inch! But I want to go to the prettiest place please!" She jumped around some more, her ears flicking wildly as she circled her mentor.

"Silverpaw!" The Chestnutstripe called. Her yellow eyes scanned the clearing, searching for signs of her silver-furred apprentice. Hunting was just the thing to break the ice between their bond. Optimism hung in her heart as she tried to keep it there by hanging on to the idea of perhaps growing closer to the distant young cat.

[FONT="Georgia"]Goldencloud stretched his paws, claws clicking and scratching at the ice in the padded down clearing. As he stood, he shook out his long golden tabby coat and blinked a golden gaze against the harsh sunlight of the day. Instantly the warm heat from the sun soaked into the darker spots on his coat and made him feel toasty. He had already begun the new leaf shed, hopefully the last bits of snow would be gone soon! He glanced around for his apprentice, eager to begin the long day's hunt for her first assessment.

Light blue eyes peered at the camp from the apprentice den. After a well-rested night of sleep and a full belly of delicious vole, Shimmeringpaw was ready to take on the day. The events of the past few days of her assignment were so much to talk about she was ready to spill the beans to anybody! While her gaze searched for perhaps Goosepaw or maybe Wormpaw she found herself looking at Goldencloud. Oh! You're not done with training yet dummy! Thinking to herself as she padded out of the den and towards her mentor. Silver and white silky long fur shimmered in the sun as leaf-bare was coming towards the end and more prey started to appear. Once close enough she greeted him with a small smile, "Hello Goldencloud."

Goldencloud gave his apprentice a warm smile, eyes narrowing a little as he wondered who she was looking for. She brushed it off though and resumed his very buisiness-like air that he had while mentoring. Getting to his paws, the tom tilted his head towards the entrance to camp.

"I hope you are ready for a big day, I am going to be assessing your hunting skills. As we haven't done one before here is a general rule base. You shouldn't look for me or come to me for guidance, unless it's an emergency of course. Other than that pick your best choice of a hunting route and do your best hunt possible." It was as simple as that. Later he could assess her hunting skills if he wanted, but she had shown that she was much fiercer in fighting than in hunting. He wondered if anything in particular had helped her shed those fears and apprehensions, but maybe he was just overthinking.

Fennelnose tried not to groan when Sootflare suggested the river or the beach. Great. Only two places I suck at hunting at. Though they didn't have many faces connected to names, they heard a cat calling for Silverpaw and glanced over to find Chestnutstripe. At least they wouldn't have to wait for their patrolmates to find them.

Walking over to join Chestnutstripe, they settled down next to the she-cat and looked around to see if they could spot Silverpaw. As they waited, they thought about the options they had to hunt at. The river was probably still somewhat frozen over, so they couldn't think of it being a viable option, especially with three cats. So, that left the latter. "I think we should go to the beach," suggested Fennelnose, not looking at the other warrior.

Featherkit stopped to catch her breath. "Are we... done attacking yet??" she breathed heavily, not used to so much activity at once.
