He gave a sheepish smile only for a chuckle to follow . With that he looked over at spiral "sorry spiral !" he apologized with a smile " just trying to get the event moving on! Didn't mean to offend if I did!" he added. With that he looked back over at fallen. " sounds good. And what you mean by your mentor? Who was your mentor anyways?" he asked as he took a bite of one.

She looked down at her paws, then meowed "No one important. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to have some fish while I enjoy the show."
She took a bite out of the small trout, juices flowing into her mouth.
"Ibth albways luved fish. You?"

Koipaw padded into the clearing and dropped the two mice in the prey pile. She sat down and groomed her fur, trying to look calm, while in her head, she was thinking,
WOW!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I!! ME!! CAUGHT MY FIRST PREY!!! WOW!!! THIS IS SO COOL!! I... I hope I can do it again.... I wonder how Stonepaw is doing.

"Oh, you haven't offended me," Spiralheart replied in his direction. "I just think it might make Sootflare want to run away from me."

It appeared a simple glare wasn't going to be enough to dissuade Sootpaw, so he decided to let it rest. For now. It wasn't like he could just walk over there and box his ears. Well... No. Better not. He could always stick him in the elder's den on tick duty later on, if he really felt like it. Turning back to the felines in front of him, he forced a smile and did his best to block out the apprentice,"No, I'm uh, not particularly thrilled about this. You're right there." It wasn't really directed at anyone in particular, Sassafrasfire and Spiralheart both seemed to pick up on his reluctance. However, Sassa's further comments brought a true smile to his face, "I don't expect you would be very tasty either, Sassafras, but I'm sure you could find some flowers for Ternsky, yeah?"

Spiralheart's comments, on the other paw, only made him more confused,"Knows her place...? I'm not sure I get your meaning, Spiralheart." He knew some cats had their preferences but that seemed just a little bit weird. Then again, the idea that any cat was serious about participating in this was weird enough to begin with. Only right that it got weirder from there.

The black-furred she-cat was beginning to get bored. The bickering back and forth between Sassafrasfire and Snailriver was beginning to bother her, this wasn't the juicy gossip she was looking for. She started playing with a puddle of water she'd found near where she was laying, tapping it with her paw to watch ripples run across the surface. It was fascinating to her, her orange eyes wide as she watched each small ripple in the water. But she was distracted from her small game when she heard her two companions begin to discuss fish, of all subjects. Her nose crinkled in disgust at Sassafrasfire's explanation, and when she was addressed, she stuck her tongue out in disgust. "Maybe he wanted to know but I sure didn't. Great Starclan Sassafras, that's disgusting." She eyed the pile of meat and bones that once used to be a fish, quickly getting to her paws and stepping away a couple of mouse-lengths. This conversation had elevated from interesting to boring to disgusting all in the matter of a few heart-beats. And Ternsky wasn't having any of it. Especially when they began to talk about badger dens, Ternsky could only roll her eyes. "Looks like someone's a bit of a dumb-rabbit and a scaredy-cat." She meowed to Snailriver, agreeing with Sassafrasfire's statement. She had to admit, the feline was quite astute, more than she could ever be herself. But annoying nonetheless. "You both are being annoying, I think you need to cool down a little bit." She meowed to the two, a small smile forming on her face as she slammed her forepaws into the puddle of murky water, hoping to send it cascading over the other two while only getting her forepaws wet. It's what they deserved for boring her.

"A she-cat who will do her part and well... not rebel against her mate, I would think," Spiralheart replied. "Maybe I'm not the ideal match, but perhaps there's another who would suit you better. I'm only serving my leader, after all. He wanted us to do this in the first place."

"I... would hope no feline would want to rebel against their mate. But there are going to be disagreements at times, yeah? That's... normal." He began, raising a brow, "But perhaps I have some sort of misunderstanding." His patience with this whole charade was growing a bit thin. He would have to have a discussion with Lion later about refraining from gestures like this in the future. Not that Lionstar would listen, necessarily. But perhaps it would be cathartic to get the words out. 'Serving your leader, huh? You seem a bit more enthusiastic than that.' he thought.
