Lotusheart smiled. She remembered her first fishing lesson with Leopardblaze. Currently, her previous mentor also had two apprentices to take care of.
"It was a good first try. I fell in the water once as well. And I got slapped by a fish."

The gray tabby shook off the water in his fur and looked around
“Where are we gonna go next?”
Wolfpaw asked.

Snakekits head bobbled in a nod and the kit went to grab her bird. Luckily the finch was small and the kit was getting bigger so she was able to hoist the bird up onto her shoulders to carry it that way. "Got it!" The kit chirped the sound slightly muffled as she held on to a wing for stability.

Foxblaze laughed a bit at the kit picking up the bird. It looked very silly. “Wanna take the long way?” She asked before heading to a nearby stream.

" 'ats the 'ong 'ay?" Snakekit asked muffled by the bird but following Foxblaze. " 'm kinda tired..." She muttered softly to herself trying to not let her mother hear. Snakekit was a kit after all and the long outing was starting to cause the baby to lag a little bit lacking the endurance to go as long as her mother.

The thought made her heart leap. She found herself almost asking if they could do that-

Did Sootpaw have a crush on Stormtlon? No, this couldn’t be happening. She couldn’t have a crush, at least not yet. She’d always thought she’d be a warrior when she had her first crush, but she guessed it was too late to wait to be one now.

Not when this cat was right in front of her. Not the muscular ash and black Tom with those magnificent green eyes. Her ears perked up as he began to speak again. “Herbs? I can help you. What herbs do you need?” She asked him, gazing into his eyes.

StarClan. He couldn't think of one believable lie to assuage Sootpaw's curiosity, and Storm didn't have time to chat about this until darkness tumbled over all of RiverClan. He had the option of crushing her soul being blunt, but he hesitated to do so. Why? A couple reasons.

One, she seemed...sweet. There was an innocence, a kindness in those hazel eyes that he recognized most in Brightkit and wanted to leave intact. Objectively she hadn't done anything deserving of a verbal thrashing, either-- and Storm couldn't bring himself to get rid of her that way when Soot hadn't earned it.

....Secondly, if he accidentally hurt Sootpaw's feelings, she might decide to be very chatty about his suspicious behavior and Stormtalon didn't want a search party sent after him, thank you very much. That would definitely kill the mood.

That left only one thing he could do.

"I'm not actually collecting herbs." It was so much easier to be direct; Storm didn't like expending mental energy on lying, thinking it wasteful. The tabby tom's green eyes flitted over the she-cat, as if sizing her up. "How good are you at keeping secrets, Sootpaw?"

The tabby thought about it. He was up for some training after Spiritedleap told him that it was his decision for if he wanted to train now or later. "Mmay wwe ttrain nnow, pplease?" he requested hoping that she didn't have a lot on her shoulders. There should be some sort of log for him to check on so he knew if it was okay to request something big. Silentpaw waited for the warrior's response as he made sure everything was tidy.

The lovely white she-cat nodded her head with a smile and a pleasant raise of her tail, "Of course. Any time spent with good company is good time." She took a moment to stretch out in the sun before standing to all four paws. Leaning over, she lapped at the other's ear sweetly, motherly cleaning some dirt from him before leaning back and cocking her head questionably, " What would you like to learn from me? What should you work on?"
