It had been a good while since the brown and white tom had been assigned on a patrol, but as the fresh deputy called out his name, he couldn't say he minded. It was an odd gratifying sensation he got from those kinds of tasks, maybe one filling his need to be useful, or a way to feel and practice his loyalty to his home.

Whatever it was, it was patrol time. He was the leader of a border patrol to Shadowclan, along with Shelltuft - a fellow warrior whose name was familiar, but otherwise an unknown cat to Stagfrost - as well as Flickerpaw - an apprentice of Stagfrost's. Which other warriors were placed on the patrol along him wasn't something the warrior gave much thought, but he was glad Flickerpaw would come along. This would be a terrific opportunity for teaching his apprentice some things!

"Shelltuft! Flickerpaw!" Stagfrost was among the first cats to respond at the patrol callings, at a quick pace making his way over and looking for the two others. He placed faith in Shelltuft as well as Flickerpaw to show up, but would be willing to leave without the other warrior if they proved slow, while he really did want Flickerpaw to have this experience and would prefer to wait for her then leave without the black and ginger apprentice.

Flickerpaw practically broke the sound barrier racing to report for patrols. She'd been slyly keeping an eye on the warriors den for several hours now, padding back and forth through camp in anticipation of catching Slatewhisker step out. As soon as the early pastel sunrise kissed the new deputy's fur, Flicker had planted themself in place. Staring. Intensely. Sending Slatewhisker signals with their mind to put me on a patrol, put me on a patrol, PLEASE--

Their name was called. Flicker jumped to their paws, spring loaded. Her mentor, Stagfrost, had hardly finished saying her title when the charcoal-and-rust apprentice exploded into the scene--skidding to a stop with her claws so hard they sprayed dust in all directions.

"FLICKERPAW REPORTING FOR DUTY!" The tiny cat saluted with a forepaw, beaming until their face hurt. The previous deputy had never bothered to send her on patrol… it'd been a MIRACLE that Blizzardwind had realized that Flicker existed to send her with Frecklecry for a hunting mission. "I'm ready, Stagfrost. For whatever we're doin'. Count on me!"

Softecho stepped up. Her first patrol leading. Even if it was just an apprentice, Softecho supposed it still counted for something. She flicked her tail at Birdpaw. “Alright, let’s get going. The early cat catches the prey!” Softecho padded out of camp, trusting Melonpaw would be following m, like any loyal RiverClan apprentice would.

Frozen’paw he-they


Frozen’paw padded up to the patrol place. They were on a patrol with one other cat, Toad’nose [ @WillowBlows12 ] he didn’t know the warrior well but to be fair he didn’t know many warriors to well, though he was starting to expand his knowledge of cats in his clan it was still a ways to go.
“Alright, Haven Springs right?” he mewed as he approached his patrol mate.

Killstone padded into camp after the patrol and approached Slatewhisker. He dipped his head in a respectful greeting to her. "Nothing of much concern along the Windclan border." He told her. "Just this patch of air was warmer than the rest, but we couldn't find a cause so found no real reason to be concerned." He reported

Shelltuft had been very distracted the last couple of days, not to say he had neglected his duties but he certainly wasn't all there. He had just returned from an early morning hunt. Ever since Petuniafire had given the news that she was expecting kits the tom had been fussing over her day and night. The tom paused, hearing his name called for a patrol as he dropped what he'd caught on the pile. The fawn and white tom looked around, Stagfrost... Flickerpaw? Those names rang a bell, though he couldn't quite put the names to faces. He hummed softly in thought, stopping only when he heard Flickerpaw call out to Stagfrost. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he padded over "Morning Stagfrost, Flickerpaw" he said bowing his head in greeting to the other to cats.

The Dark Lord's ears swiveled to the sound of his name. He swiftly rose to a standing position, a spark of restless energy sparking. Wormbite was grateful for the chance to be doing something that was... helpful. He wasn't keen to go and explore Thunderclan's border but at least it was him doing so. He approached the entrance, waiting for Vinewatcher and Specklepaw to gather.

The bulky warrior looked up at her name green eyes narrowing as she was called to patrol the clans shared border. Standing straight with her head held high a displeased look forever present on her face she faced Wormbite now waiting for the apprentice that was to join them.

Specklepaw

Specklepaw had padded out of the apprentice den once their name had been called. The black furred apprentice looked around the clearing for the two warriors he was to go on patrol with. Once they caught sight of them he went over to them.
