There was a... familiar scent somewhere. Hmm. Familiar. Was that the right word? Not quite ingrained in his memory, but not quite belonging to a stranger, either. Buckstar squinted into the underbrush that surrounded him, turning in a slow circle as he tried to pinpoint its location. And then-

"Buckbranch?"

His breath hitched in his throat as he turned to see that long-lost face. The last time he'd seen that face - it had been a wave of emotions, though mostly grief and anger, and now the majority of that came flooding back. He took one hesitant step, and then rushed forward and reach out to envelop his friend in a hug.

"Sunsnow," he breathed out in disbelief. "Oh my Stars, Sunsnow. Where have you been?"

"I'm sorry," he answered gently. "I haven't seen them in a while. I don't know where they might have gone, but I'm sure that wherever they are, they're doing fine. They're capable cats." That flash of pain didn't go unnoticed, and he felt a pang in his chest. He wished they were still here as well.

Shaking that thought from his mind, he pushed on. "Are you... coming back to stay?"

brownie smiled slightly. Finnaly, he could drop his tough act. "I'm Brownie and so far, I've been living over there" He said pointing his tail past the border. "And.... thank you. She isn't my real kit, but I don't know what id do without her." He nuzzled Luna softly before picking her up. "Lead the way" He said around Lunas feverish pelt.

She shook her head "no no im fine!! there...were some rogues..." she trailed off before finding her voice again "they were weak, scraggly and they looked like they hadn't eaten in days. They had resorted to.." she stopped and looked at a bite mark on her hind leg "its fine, i-im fine" She looked at him and forced a smile "dont be so worried im alright"

Blueface stood, considering the apprentice. finally, he nodded.
"let's get to work then," he mewed, padding for the entrance.
[do not reply to this. this RP is over. I am going on hiatus for the rest of this week and all of next week because I am going on a trip and can't take my computer with me. I sincerely hope Stormpaw is not given to a new mentor, and I hope he will still be able to train with blueface. I am sorry.]

Bristlekit wakes up to the noise of footsteps. "Oh, hi Stormpaw, what are you doing?" mewed Bristlekit tiredly.

Bristlekit follows Stormpaw out to the nursery and into the clearing. He picks a vole and carry's it over to a shaded spot under a tree, waiting for Stormpaw to join him.
