ShadowClan Patrol Place

At the call of her name, Chamomilepaw scrambled across the clearing, attention ripped from whatever she'd been wondering about. Her heard had leapt immediately into her throat at the sight of her new mentor waiting there for her, and the prospect of a patrol where they could be met with the frothing jaws of a hungry beast only made her anxiety worse.

Even if she could feel the irritation radiating off of Addersnow, she didn't dare say a word; if anything, her anxious blubbering would only make the warrior hate her more. The jittery apprentice took a seat beside her mentor as they waited for Splotchleaf - yet another, possibly vicious stranger for her to meet.

After his first real interaction with his apprentice, Splotchleaf wasn’t exactly up to having to deal with others, so when his name was called for a patrol he wasn’t the fastest one over there. Letting out a little groan as he closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath in to prepare for dealing with what seemed to steadily be the attitude of Shadowclan, Splotchleaf contemplated just leaving it be, but also didn’t exactly feel like getting a swipe from Shadestorm or Dawnstar. Raising slowly to his paws, Splotchleaf attempted to pick out the two cats he had been assigned to lead. Spotting the two together, Splotchleaf was able to put two and two together and guess that these two were Addersnow and Chamomliepaw. As such, Splotchleaf made his way towards the two, his gaze resting on the exit before he had paused in front of the two and glanced between them, noticing the anxious air around the apprentice, Splotchleafs stare had softened before he offered the apprentice a half smile for just a moment before looking towards Addersnow. Giving the molly a little nod, Splotchleaf had murmured a light “we’re all here, yes? Alright then, let’s go,” before passing past the warrior and apprentice towards the opening in the wall.

Badgerscar frowned when his name was called for another patrol and fluffed up his pelt against the cold. Ugh, again? Well, at least it's a border patrol again so maybe I'll have the chance to shred some squirrels he thought as he headed towards the camp entrance. "Let's go, Owlfeather!" the warrior called over his shoulder, not bothering to check if she was actually following. He didn't really care whether she came or not, but Shadestorm and Dawnstar sure would.

The tom as surprised to lead a patrol, even if it was for hunting. He called out for his companions. "Shadowpaw ( @Phantomtame) Lilacpaw ( @Clock Dragonshifter)." he decided to wait so they had to move their tails.

Lilacpaw padded up to Crimsonflame. Though she was excited to be part of a patrol she his her excitement and nodded to Crimsonflame in greetings. "Where are we hunting again?" The she-cat asked respectfully.

A pair of brown ears pricked up as the patrols were called out, she always listen closely to them, just to get any news and see if she was placed on one, and it seemed to be her lucky day! Thunderclan border patrol, with Badgerscar and.... just that? Just two cats? No, there were always three cats, not two. The large molly frowned, but didn't stay to dwell on the mystery, it didn't mater, she could do this patrol just fine, even if it was just she and.... Badgerscar, that was the cat who mentored Ivypaw, the deputy's own daughter, who Dawnstar had called a disappointment. Wasn't that just perfect, she was on a patrol with someone she didn't trust to do their job even.

She was about to search out her patrol-partner, when he called for her. That in itself was fine, but his grumpy and self-centered nature brought a frown to her face. He better not be arrogant as well, or this thing she usually enjoyed so much would be a nightmare. A slight sigh left her mouth as she moved after him.

"It seems Shadowpaw ( @Phantomtamer) is not going to bother showing their face." he sniffed, annoyed. "At least your presence is grateful." he looked at Lilacpaw ( @Clock Dragonshifter). "We are heading to the Sky Glade." he replied, snorted as he startedd to walk away, not waiting for the apprentice.

Badgerscar padded back into camp and only paused briefly to give his report to Shadestorm. "We marked the ThunderClan border, there was a fox scent and I sent Owlfeather to deal with it, which she did."

Pigeonpaw ran through the entrance. Her breathing was shallow and fast, her eyes were wide, her fur standing on end. Her body ached from the long run and fear. She swallowed roughly before focusing on calming herself. She was sure the fear scent was coming off her in waves and Shadestorm would want to know what was going on. Her legs were buzzing and unsteady as she tried to walk on them. She faced Shadestorm, her eyes still wide and pelt ruffled and she tried to talk but her voice was muffled by the mangled mouse in her maw. She stopped embarrassed and set the mouse down at her paws, she should've dropped that off at the freshkill pile first. Too late now. She took a deep breath and tried to make her voice as steady as possible but she couldn't meet the deputy's eyes. "I...Shadestorm?...My, uh...Dovepaw and Leapardfang never showed up so I decided, since I didn't do my last patrol, I needed to help the clan, the clan needed food, even if cats didn't show up. So I went out and, and I caught a mouse, all by myself! But, uh, there was also, there was a rabbit that was eaten. It was mostly eaten in Pinewatch Patch and it had cat scent around it, cat scent like I've never smelled before. I...uh, I got scared and I ran," she hung her head, suddenly ashamed that she ran away like a little scared kit. "I ran all the way back here so I didn't see who it was or what it was, but it wasn't from any of the clans. I just thought, I was scared and I needed to tell you." She swallowed hard.

The large deputy watched as the patrols came in, some with prey, some with news of the border, a few with both. Nodding slightly he heard the news. The news of Owlfeather taking care of a fox made his eyebrown raise slightly. Someone leaving after a fox scent, and come back without a scratch like that, saying they took care of it. It must have been a little fox, but he had seen her bring back a pelt last time, so maybe there hadn't been a fox? But he was sightly impressed by her.

Among the little crown of cats one young, grey one stood out. Pigeonpaw returned from a patrol. It wasn't usual for an apprentice to report a patrol, and he looked around for the rest of the hunting patrol he had sent out. But frowned after he heard her news about them not showing up, it wasn't TOO unusual for Dovepaw, but hearing Leopardfang hadn't done her job wasn't something he had expected. He examined the mouse she had in her jaws. "Well, I... appreciate you taking the responsibility to complete the patrol all by yourself, and taking initiative when the others didn't show up." He stayed quiet for a moment while looking at her, she seemed.... well anyway. "The scent and rabbit is... concerning, but thanks for telling me, I'll send a patrol there next time as well. You may have been right not to follow it, if you couldn't recognize it, it might have been a rouge, twoleg, or predator. If you had gone after it and gotten yourself killed I might not have gotten the news of that in time to prevent more casualties" And no one was messing with his Shadowclan. "I'll be honest, I didn't expect something like that from you. I suppose this makes up for your absence the last time." Another pause before he flicked his tail dismissively. "Well, put that on the prey pile, and take something for yourself." Maybe some parts of his great clan were still working as they should.
