Spottedkit padded forward nervously. What if I mess up? Then everyone will laugh at me, and-stop Spottedkit! Look calm. She stared up at Kestrelstar. Who would her mentor be? There are lots of good warriors, but, what if my mentor doesn't like me?

Apprentice ceremonies!, she mewed in her head, hope I get one as a mentor, she thought

Cloverpaw sat, with her beautiful white fur calm, apprentice ceremonies, so bored of those things, she meowed in her head

The kit's eyes narrowed as the leader began talking, her ears flicking forward with surprise as her name was called. What?? Was this that apprentice-ceremony-thingy that her father had told her about? A grin split across her face as Saltkit sprung to her paws, trotting forward. As she joined the other kits that were called foward, her clear blue eyes sought out her father. You see? You see me?? Oh.

It seemed he had slipped out of camp. Or something. Oh well! Maybe he didn't realize her name was called - well, she would just tell him later! Yeah, that would be even better! She would walk up to him, let him say hi, and BAM! She would introduce herself as Saltpaw! That would be so cool! Her gaze flicked back towards Kestrelstar, realizing she may well be missing her ceremony, which she should probably pay attention to. She should probably at least find out who her mentor was.

Despite her best efforts to pay attention to the ongoing ceremony, she did catch another one of the kits called up out of the corner of her eye. Russetkit, a kit who Saltkit recalled to be rather nasty judging by their last interaction. Well, she didn't seem so high and mighty now, did she? Here they were, side by side, receiving the same rank at the same time. There was the strong temptation for Saltkit to stick her tongue out at Russetkit, or make some other rude expression, but decided against it, not wanting to jeopardize her ceremony just for being petty.

Russetkits ears shot up as she heard her name. It was time! She would finally going to be an apprentice! She was ready. She had been ready for moons. Since before she went missing. A small smile formed on her face, a small sliver of happiness was able to be shown. She hadn’t f been happy since she got back. And it didn’t show for long but she felt it. It was nice. She walked up ready to get her name. Ready to be a apprentice and work as hard as she could. Her smile left her face but she still had a small glint in her eyes. One a kit would have when they were listening to a story from the elders or when a queen would have kits and look down at them with amusement. She was ready.

Shimmerbird let a small smile grace her face as Kestrelstar called for kits to step forwards so they could receive their apprentice names and mentors. It was always a good thing when kits became apprentices and apprentices warriors. RiverClan was as strong as ever and would hopefully remain that way for a long time with StarClan's blessing.

Part of Kestrelstar, as soon as he saw the fact of the one young she-cat in particular he had called up, wanted to leap down. Memories of the day of his warrior ceremony, with his mother dead and father long gone, reminded him what a cruel and lonely day it had been. He had not the comfort of one friend, one sibling... It had been a dark and dreary time in his life, and something told the leader that the young soon to be apprentice before him might be feeling a sliver of those emotions. Hopefully with his decision he could make her feel just a little less alone.

Bringing himself back to the moment, Kestrelstar noticed that two kits in particular had not stepped up. He could have sworn he had seen them gather, but at his call they had not shown. Perhaps Wrenkit had gone back to the nursery; regardless, Kestrelstar did not want to keep the other kits waiting. "From this day forward, until you complete your warrior training, you shall be known as Spottedpaw, Saltpaw, Russetpaw, and Mountainpaw. Cloverkit, since we already have a Cloverpaw, you will be known as Cloudpaw until your training as been completed." Hopefully she would not be too upset about the change - it would keep things from getting confusing with two Cloverpaw's.

[ @Silverfur & Co ]. I expect you to learn the resilience and kindness that Featherspirit is known for."

"Saltpaw [ @Naiad ] your mentor is Hazelstorm [ @iris ]; I expect you to learn from her loyalty and determination."

"Russetpaw [ @feather lily ], you have recently returned to us and are overdue for your ceremony. Hopefully Brindlefeather [ @sid ] can pass on her ferocity and prowess so that you can excel in your training."

"Mountainpaw [ @DeltaDace ], your mentor will be Sorrelhawk [ @tulle ]. I hope you take from her spiritedness and strength."

One more. This one was special, and it flickered through as Kestrelstar brought his yellow gaze to the new apprentices face. "Cloudpaw [ @masquerade ], I will be your mentor. I expect you to listen carefully and take your training seriously, and in time I'm certain you will make an excellent warrior." Despite his firm words, there was a softness and a kindness displayed on his face that was still unknown by his Clan. But none of that mattered as he offered the young she-cat an encouraging smile.

With the moment come and gone, he nodded to all of the newly named apprentices and selected mentors before lifting his tail once more. "There are also several reassignments that need to be done. Some apprentices have gone through several mentors, but I know there are plenty of dependable cats within this Clan. If you see an apprentice who is not training with their mentor, reach out to them. There is always something to be taught. And apprentices," he stated, shifting his voice, "make sure that if your mentor is not following through on your training that you let me know, and seek out other warriors to assist."

"Whitepaw [ @WinterMara ] your new mentor will be Lilyfur [ @BeeDee ]. Lilyfur, please make sure to complete her training; she should be done with it by now." He couldn't hold too much frustration, as it was not Whitepaw's fault that her mentors kept going missing.

"Goldenpaw [ @Singing Jay ] your training will be continued by Troutleaf
[ @Angelique ]. If there are any issues," Kestrelstar paused, recalling the Creekfoot situation from last time, "please let me know, Goldenpaw."

"Maplepaw [ @error ] your mentor will be Beewhisper [ @QueenOtter ]."

"Honeypaw [ @Jae ] your new mentor will be Bristletail [ @Pheasantflight ]."

"Pebblepaw [ @corgigirl ] your training will continue under Wolfsong
[ @RiztheHuntress ]."

"Quietpaw [ @Clock Dragonshifter ] your new mentor is Ambermoon
[ @-Cherrypaw- ]."

"Cherrypaw [ @/-Cherrypaw- ] your training will be continued by Gullcry
[ @fluffycheetahs ]."

"Ryepaw [ @door~ ] your new mentor will be Snowleap [ @masquerade ].

"And lastly, Sunpaw [ @Sweetie ] your training will be picked up by Sparrowskip
[ @marshall ]." Kestrelstar was hesitant to pair up the siblings, but he needed a close eye kept on Sunpaw to make sure he did not leave RiverClan again; Sparrowskip would do just that.

Once all of the reassignments were done, Kestrelstar took a moment in between to leap down and move towards Cloudpaw. Anxiety prickled underneath his fur as flashbacks to when he had named Tumblepaw as his apprentice entered his mind. He... had failed the tom in so many ways. Most, if not all, of the trauma he had experienced was due to Kestrelstar, and for a moment the leader doubted his decision. But he would not make the same mistakes with Cloudpaw. "You're going to do great," he reassured her with a nod, stretching his neck forward so that he could touch noses with her.

Another smile, before he turned to scramble back up onto the Streamstone, letting a moment pass for everyone to find each other before he continued on.

Beewhisper looked up, surprised. Maplepaw was his apprentice now? At least he'll train them well. Beewhisper looked solemnly at Kestrelstar and waited for him to continue.

The tom had been hiding the back after his meal, listening in on the meeting when the older warrior heard his name get called for being someones mentor. Was he fit to be a mentor again. Many moons ago he had an apprentice when he was in his younger years that had been slain. That was the last apprentice he had wished to have, but he wasn't going to say no. Goldenpaw seemed ro go from one mentor to the other. Well that won't happen with him. Her training would end with him.

Troutleaf padded forward towards the apprentice. He was going to do his job and he was going to do it well. This young cat would become a warrior under him if he had anything to say about it. "We're going out after the meeting and I want you to tell me what you need. I'm not going to be like your othee mentors I will make you a warrior.", he promised. He mean't every word he just spoke.
