Frostkit pushed his half-eaten mouse away and scrambled to his feet. The clearing was almost empty, as most of the Clan were out raiding WindClan. Frostkit wanted to be out with them, expanding their territory, but his mother had told him multiple times that he was too young. For a moment, he wanted to explore anyway. But, he turned away from the entrance and bounced across the clearing toward the nursery. Maybe there would be something fun to do in there. Nosing his way in, he spotted another kit lying down. "Hi!" he greeted. @~Mud

[ @MooingPanda -Oof. I just saw that you have a Shadowclan kit called Nightkit...I’m going to have to pick a different name for my kit. But for now we can just keep calling him Nightkit. ]

Nightkit’s eyes were drawn to the entrance of the nursery as he saw another kit nosing his way into the nursery. His ears flicked with interest and his eyes brightened. Maybe this kit would come and talk to him. He sat up as the kit walked over. Nightkit curled his fluffy tail around his paws neatly and smiled, glad to be out of the bored state he’d been in. “Hi!” His eyes sparkled and he struggled to keep still. “I’m Nightkit!” Nightkit shook his pelt, his paws itching to play. Maybe this kit would want to play a game with him! Maybe they would become friends! Thoughts whirled around his head a mile a minute.

"I'm Frostkit," he replied, sitting down and looking around at the den. There wasn't much to look at. "Do you want to do something?" He was desperate to play with another kit. Pawing together some moss, he hurled it at Nightkit. @~Mud

Nightkit nodded vigorously when Frostkit asked if he wanted to play. When he threw the moss ball, Nightkit was ready. He moved quickly, despite his large size, and flicked his paw out, catching the moss ball with his claws. He smiled and lashed his tail, getting into the game. He was unmoving for a moment, his gaze locked on the air above Frostkits shoulder. Then he sprang into action. He continued to focus on that one spot but hurled the moss ball over Frostkit’s head instead. He spread out his paws in a ready stance, bracing to move in any direction in a split second. I love moss ball! Nightkit shook out his pelt, panting a little. Despite the chilly weather, his thick fur kept him warm, sometimes even a little hot. His black coat didn’t help that. It made the sun become even more attracted to him. On sunny, warm days, he was always hot, warmed by the sun and his thick coat.

Riddlekit listener carefully, weighing the other kit’s words, and tilting his head slightly, almost like an owl.
“Nightmares?” He asked briefly, his unreadable eyes wide. He glanced away and nodded slowly, “I...understand. Some things...are hard to forget...when it feels like the night stirs them back up.” He agreed.
“I am called Riddlekit now. Dawnstar says it is because...I am strange. I can’t complain...I think she’s right. What is your name?” He returned, in his slow, pensive tone.

"Yep." Whisperkit's ears swiveled back and then forward again, as if he were contemplating something. This kit was a bit strange, admittedly, but what was life without a little strangeness. "Riddlekit." He tested the name out, letting it roll off of his tongue. "Well, it... definitely suits you." He tilted his head to the side, blinking at the tom. "I'm Whisperkit."

Frostkit bounced into the air, catching the ball between his paws before falling back on the ground. He heaved it back at the black-coated kit before rolling back onto his paws. His tongue lolled out, staring at Nightkit, bracing himself for action. This was fun!

Nightkit’s eyes didn’t stray from their target, Frostkit, as the other kit caught the moss ball. He smiled, lifting his eye brows in surprise. Most kits couldn’t keep up with his speed. This was getting to be fun! He bolted toward the moss ball as it was thrown, not missing the roll that Frostkit did. Wow! He’s good! I bet he’s very agile! I can’t wait to see how he uses that once he’s an apprentice! I bet he’ll be great at jumping and dodging! Nightkit jumped into the air, grabbing the moss ball in his mouth and rolled when he hit the ground. He came up on his paws, trying to do it like Frostkit did but not doing it quite as well. He wobbled when he stopped, steadying himself as he watched Frostkit pant. He was hot too but he hardly thought about that at this moment. It wasn’t allowed in his mind which was focused completely on the game. The walls of the nursery blurred and everything else seemed to disappear at he focused on the kit in front of him. He smiled a lopsided smile due to the moss in his mouth. It wasn’t really a ball anymore because of how rough they were being. Nightkit dropped the moss and hooked it with his claws, tossing it up into the air and catching it a few times before suddenly sprinting into action. He flung the moss ball as hard as he could, low to the ground. It hit the ground and rolled quickly to Frostkit. Nightkit hoped that this would throw Frostkit off and he would miss it. Most kits threw the moss, not rolled it.

Frostkit watched as Nightkit caught the ball and narrowed his eyes. This was getting serious! He crouched and waggled his haunches, tracking it as the other kit tossed the ball a few times. He was slightly caught off guard, however, as Nightkit underhanded the moss. It bounced once on the ground and Frostkit lunged, trying to trap it beneath him. But the moss sailed over his head and into the nursery wall. "Fox dung!" he spat. "Good move," he added to his opponent. He could see that they were going to have a lot of fun.

Nightkit watched as the moss seemed to move in slow motion. He smiled as Frostkit pounced and he yowled in joy and excitement as he narrowly missed it. As it hit the wall, Nightkit seemed to be pulled into reality again. The walls came back into focus and he could see the whole nursery, not just Frostkit. Suddenly, he realized how how hot he was. He hadn’t expected to get this hot and he sat down heavily. He started to pant heavily but he smiled at Frostkit. Wow! He’s really good! I can’t believe he could keep up with me for this long! I hope that he’ll want to be my friend! Nightkit smiled as Frostkit complimented his move. He’s a good sport too! I’m glad he isn’t mad. Sometimes more headstrong kits that challenged him to a game would get mad at him when he won. He smiled again, resting to let his breathing slow. “If you want to play again, we’ll probably have to fix the moss ball. He laughed as he look at the misshapen piece of moss by the nursery wall. “It looks more like a moss blob now! Or, we can play something else. I’m good with whatever.” He stood, shaking his pelt.

Frostkit laughed too. He was never mad at cats for very long. He stayed on his belly for a moment while his got his breath back, then craned his neck to look at the sorry shape that the moss-ball had become. "Yeah, we might need a new ball!" he mewed, standing up and shaking out his fur as well. "You're good," he continued, graciously recognizing Nightkits' skill. "I didn't expect you to throw low like that." He grinned at Nightkit. "Let's do it again. Next time, I'll be ready for that!"
