He paused mid stride and gazed around camp, taking careful note of who was and wasn't here, and who had recently been here. He didn't want to be cause unawares, and he also wanted to find another unsuspecting cat to flirt with. Flirting made up a majority of who he was, and ifhe didn't have loyalty issues, he would likely be a different, better, kinder cat. But Horseradish was proud of who he was, and nothing would ever change that. Then he spotted Obsidian, a cat he only knew the name of, but nothing more about them. Quietly, the large Maine coon padded over and dipped his head in greeting, his amber and green eyes were guarded, revealing nothing.

Obsidian sat in the clearing, gazing at the cats around her with boredom as she flicked her tail. She heard a few cats enter camp, but her ear simply twitched in notice of it. Her gaze flickered to camp as she saw a cat she simply new the name of, what was it... oh, Horseradish. It didn't roll off her tongue, but then again she barely knew the cat. She turned her gaze back to the camp, waiting to see what he did. She knew one fact about him, he was a flirter. She disliked careless flirting, but hey, it'd be something to amuse her for a bit. She saw him dip his head, and returned the gesture with a small smile.

Horseradish eyed the she-cat carefully, then sat down and raised one paw, claws unsheathed. He studied them for a moment, then looked back at her as she repeated his earlier gesture of dipping his head. “Y'know, there's got to be something better to do than sit around in the shadows all day. Wanna come along?” he said, chuckling quietly to himself and putting on a good natured smile, but his multicolored hues still gave away nothing. He flicked the end of his tail, inviting for her to follow him over to a nice sunny patch a couple fox lengths away, where fewer cats were at. He was at at again, and pretty soon, his fun would be over, but he'd just go right back to mthe next game.

Obsidian looked at him curiously, a chuckle escaping her mouth. "Smooth. But sure." She smiled back, standing as her eyes showed amusement. She followed him to the patch of sun, finding the warmth enjoyable as she smiled. If she went along with his little games, it'd be more amusing than a large argument over this mouse-brained flirting. She chuckled under her breath, knowing he was just being a huge flirt like always.

Horseradish sat down in the sun a tail length from Obsidian, his whiskers twitching curiously. There were many other flitters in the Syndicate, many just as dangerous as he was, so why was no one else after her? He'd taken on Phantom, and she'd fallen for him. Now, he had left her to live in anguish from the pain he'd caused her, and he was on the move again. Obsidian wasn't the right cat, but he could at least have a little fun with her, right? The earth quickly penetrated his thick pelt and seemed to heat up his entire body, making him nice and comfortable. Content with that, the massive tom cast a sideways glance at her. “So, tell me; what's a pretty cat like you doing by herself?” this wasn't his usual subtle flirting, or quite his usual flirting, for he knew enough about her to know that she hated flirting. Here, he was trying to anger her.

Sandburr Licked her paw, swiping it by her ears. Her large scar coated on half of her face. Her crystal blue eyes gazed at the clearing. Seeing nothing at all.
She flicked her tail, going back to grooming her pelt. She felt... Lifeless,
she was practically useless in this place. Sandburr was sad, she wasn't supposed to be here. Her brother and sister weren't either. They were not evil, unlike these cats. Why couldn't they have ended up in a clan? Sandburr sighed, her old home was a lab, all of her siblings had been there. They were poked with needles, her brother even got his voice taken away.

It made him feel a bit...suspicious. Never having to hear a name like that, but he shrugged it off. ''It's a beautiful name.'' He commented, but he looked away. He didn't want to stare openly at her. It was a simple conversation between the two.
''What...inspired your mother to give you the name?'' He asked. It was a simple question. He just wanted to get to know her. The tom felt that she didn't need to know his name. The fact that she didn't ask for, and the fact she didn't need it. He was quite conniving like that. Believing that he must be mysterious to anyone he met. Besides that, he never wanted to conversation to be focused on him. Wasn't it just fun to get to know other cats? Especially when cats had no intentions on getting to know him?
The way she talked, soft, sweet...the tom didn't want her to lose that edge. However, he could sense that she was guarding herself. From what? Did she not trust him? Maybe, she had an entire reason to. He wouldn't know, that was for sure, but he could tell as he sat next to her, and scanned the crowd in front of them. The other cats, going about their business hardly bothered him. As he sat alone in a corner, he was never noticed. Which was good to him. The tom liked the quietness. The stillness. The silence.
''I hope I'm not scaring you.'' He turned to look at her, his whiskers quivered at her response. ''You intrigue me, Bella. All I wish to do is get to know you.'' It wasn't normal for him to get to know other she cats. Most times he would brush them away. Or, they wouldn't notice him. Of course, that had to be lie. They did notice him, but because of his rough nature, they chose not to talk to him. ''No harm in doing that, hm?'' His voice kept its charming touch. And, his hazel eyes gleamed for a moment as he took a quick look at her.
Crimson couldn't tell how Bella felt. For all he knew, she was probably annoyed with his presence, but based on her answers, the way her tone worked. He knew he had her somewhat under his spell. She was putting on a front. She had to. Crimson wasn't the most skilled cat in the Syndicate, but he knew when others wanted to act tough when they really wasn't. He knew when others were lying, and it weren't the true. He had a chilling nature to himself that made him look cold...when really he wasn't. However, it was a front that most did not know. And, since they did not know him, why not use it?
The tom shifted his position, so now he was sitting comfortable allowing his muscles to flex and breathe. He let out small breaths of content as the world around them slowly went on. ''What would happen to your fur? I'm sure you're a fighter. You look like you wouldn't let anyone mess with you.'' He asked, his eyes dancing with amusement, but his voice stayed the same. He found her amusing--who knew she could take a joke? Especially when it came from him. He sounded serious when he said it, but he wasn't being serious.
Crimson allowed his hazel eyes to roam the dark color of her pelt. ''I bet it's warm, though. Do you share?'' It was a nice conversation that they were having so far. So far, she seemed interesting, and therefore he allowed himself to settle down, and enjoy what ever would had next with them. He didn't want to come off as a shadowed figure, frightening her out her senses. Oh no, that wasn't his character. He only put on the mask because others assume much about him being evil. Being violent. Truthfully, he was somewhat violent. Only when he was extremely angry. He packed that down, so no one would be able to see that demonic side of him come out.
|
The dark brown she-cat nearly shuddered as her name rolled of the tom’s tongue. It was strange, hearing someone else use her name. Obviously, others had said her name many times before, but most of the time, it had been either her mum, dad or stepdad. Living in one territory for all of your life meant that you were less likely to come across a stranger that would say your name. But she liked it. She would have to get used to hearing her name used a lot more often. "Thank you….” Bella replied, uncertainty lacing her words. It was quite a flattering reply, considering it was coming from a very good looking cat, and she wasn’t used to be complimented by cats like him. Or rather, she wasn’t used to being complimented by anyone other than her parents.
She’d never thought about it – what her name meant. Her mother had never told her either. "I don’t know. My mother never told me,” Bella replied finally, shrugging her shoulders. Maybe it was good that she didn’t know everything about herself. At least the tom wouldn’t be able to know everything about her. After all, how was he supposed to learn something about her if even she didn’t know it? There were still many things that were dormant within her and still had yet to awaken. Only then would she be able to find a few more things out about herself.
Not once did the thought come across that he had not introduced himself. By the looks of it, the tom was going to be asking questions and she was going to have to answer all of them. Shouldn’t she get a turn at asking? I’ll just have to wait for the right moment to butt in, the Havana brown told herself, her yellow hues becoming focused as she waited for the right moment to come. However, who knew how long that might take? For all she knew, it could take the whole conversation and she wouldn’t even get a chance.
"You? Scaring me? Of course not!” Bella scoffed, snorting in amusement. That was a lie, but she hid it well. This tom was intimidating. There was a strange aura that surrounded him, it made the Havana brown feel weaker than she was. She didn’t feel as defiant as she normally would be around a stranger. She was experiencing something new, but she was having mixed feelings about it. "No, I guess not,” Bella said, a small frown of thought growing on her maw. How strange, she was intriguing him. It was weird, considering she personally thought of herself as a generally boring cat.
The Havana brown wasn’t at all annoyed by his presence. She was enjoying it if anything. It wasn’t usual that someone of her age would be able to sit down and have a chat with her. But then again, maybe, just maybe, this cat wasn’t around her age. Maybe he was just some old tom cat that couldn’t find the attention of anyone else. It was very unlikely, but there would always be a possibility for everything.
An eye raised at his remark. He knew she was a fighter? How strange. If she were him, she would’ve thought of her as a hunter or healer. Not a fighter. "You’re right about that. No one should ever dare to mess with me or my fur,” Bella responded. She was certainly joking, but she wasn’t quite sure if the tom was. Yet again, it was rather hard to tell if he was joking or not. It appeared that he hadn’t been born with a natural joking tone. It wouldn’t matter much though whether he was joking or not. It was perfectly normal for someone to throw in a joke every now and again, as long as the conversation wasn’t extremely serious.
Bella found herself feeling rather perplexed at his next statement. Creep, she thought. She knew exactly what he meant and she sure as heck didn’t cuddle. She didn’t like letting others be that close to her. The she-cat didn’t mind if it was one of her family members, but other than that, she was off limits to too much physical contact. "No. It’s for me and me only,” Bella replied flatly. She wasn’t joking about her words, but maybe her blunt tone was a bit of a joke. She didn’t usually use a flat tone to reply to others. Before the tom could reply, she quickly shoved in the question she’d been wanting ask you. “What’s your name? I should know your name if you know mine,” she said, her yellow hues gazing at him seriously.

For most of his life Arrow had been told that everyone in the Syndicate was going to hurt him. But Tundra hadn't seemed that way, and perhaps Ebony wouldn't do anything to him either. Spotting the black feline, he was surprised to see that she was already fairly well groomed... still working, but most of her pelt was glossy and sleek. Making his presence known by shifting his weight a little more loudly then needed, the tom sat nearby and curled his tabby tail around his paws. "Good evening." At least he was being polite. The courtious tone in his voice was obvious, thank goodness.
Still he didn't know what kind of a relationship Ebony had with her brother, the much-dreaded Hannibal. Good? Bad? Neutral? Any one of those could easily get him killed, depending on his interactions with the solid colored cat. Her differently colored hues unsettled him sometimes, but you couldn't really go very far in the Syndicate and not find someone with a unique appearance or personality. Arrow was perfectly happy to say that he was "normal" by any other terms except for here, and he wouldn't really want to be normal here anyways. Not in a place whose idea of a good time was killing. Death seemed to be on everyone's mind nowadays, after the recent killing of Boreas and since Halite hadn't chosen a new Co-Commander yet, Arrow was hoping to stay out of sight. He was definitely not looking fowards to 'getting used to' them.
|
Ebony watched him carefully as she had earlier. The sleek black feline had begun to drop her guard around him, but she felt on edge around him now. Maybe it was just the weight of attempting to make a bond, some sort of friendship that was making her nervous. Maybe it was the fact that she carried bad family ties and she was scared that it would affect this. She didn't know, simply because she'd never tried to reach out to anyone. This tom just struck her as different. He was polite. It was a curious thing, finding a tom that had some sort of respect from first interactions. It was hard to find in the syndicate. Ebony was just scared of connection from her past experiences, so there were so many emotions jumbling in her head as she got to her paws.
"Good morning, you mean." She said teasingly, remembering that this was relatively identical to how their last conversation had kicked off. She wondered if he had a route in mind for the evening, or if he wanted her to lead. She knew her way well through the dark and dead branches and brambles of their territory. However she wasn't too keen on revealing her exact route, but some changes could be made so that she wouldn't have to feel like her privacy was completely threatened. It had been over thirty moons since she'd taken a chance at friendship.

As she was doing, Arrow kept a watch on the cat. He had learned that, no matter how well you might know someone, you could never completely know them. Not unless they wanted you to. And, he was quite certain that Ebony was hiding some secrets. She must have been, right? Because she didn't tell you anything about herself, or because you just want to suspect someone? The thought seemed to be scolding Arrow, almost teasing him for his caution. But he couldn't help it. Right now he was nervous. He was worried. And he was scared. For his life, and for the mysterious feline's. See, Arrow had never been a big fan of the 'kill or be killed' type theme that seemed to hang around the Syndicate.
It was an unspoken rule. Everyone understood it. Everyone except for the tom. Ebony's words made his eyes open just a little wider in surprise and he looked at her as though seeing her in a new light. Did she just... did she make a joke? The thought was stunning. Although a smile did begin to play at the corners of his maw. "Right. Morning." Was it just his imagination, or did this entire conversation seem strangely familiar? Oh yes. Their last conversation, not too long ago. While it wasn't absolutely identical, seeing as it was a different time of day, it was fairly similar to the last one. "Anywhere in particular you want to go?" Arrow asked after a moment's silence.

(Forgot about this, sorry :3)
Obsidian's eyes glittered with humor. She could take a flirt or two, what was the harm? She knew he'd broken another she-cat who's name was... Phantom. She enjoyed the warmth of the sun on her black fur, purring softly. She snorted at his remark. "I'm not in the market for a mate, you could say." Obsidian replied, semi-vague as she smirked. She knew what he was trying to do, but how devoted to it was he?
