Sunkit looked up from her place by her mother.
"Spirekit, good to see you," she mewed quietly, and curled up tighter into her mother's warmth.
I wonder when WE can eat whole prey, she thought.

Rookstep blinked, surprise flittering across his gaze. The fire? This kit had some guts - most didn't want to hear a story so scary. It wasn't the most recent event in his mind, but the old tom remembered it well. "The fire, huh?" he mused, shifting in his nest to get more comfortable.

"It was pretty devastating. Unsuspecting, really. I remember I couldn't tell if it was daytime or night time. The entire sky was dark with shadows as rain pelted down onto the camp. There was thunder and lightning everywhere, so much so that I thought with all the light we had perhaps all made it up to StarClan." The elder paused in his story to gauge the kits reaction, his blue eyes alight with passion.

"Duskstar was the leader then. She ordered everyone to get out - evacuate. We had to head to the RiverClan border to escape the flames. It was complete chaos. I was still a warrior then, although an older one. Apprentices were scrambling to find their mentors - kits, their mothers. One by one though, we were able to flee camp. Duskstar... she did end up losing a life. It was by the grace of StarClan that Lionstorm - then Lionstar - and Fawnsqueak from RiverClan showed up to help get the rest of us to their camp. If they hadn't showed up, and shown us the grace they had, Duskstar might've lost even more lives..."

As the story subsided, Rookstep's whiskers twitched with a smile. "Thankfully, fire hasn't seen this new camp of ours, so be sure to thank StarClan each night before you sleep for that," he wrapped the story up with a wink at the kit.

Bluekit stared at Rookstep as he told the story. Bluekit tried his best to look amazed but his eyes had fear in them. Had that really happened to Thunderclan? As Rookstep finished the story, Bluekit shifted his paws a bit. "That must have been a horrible time. I've always thought that the other clans only cared about keeping themselves safe but I guess they help once in a while?" Bluekit mewed to Rookstep. He was suddenly a bit grateful for Riverclan. They had helped his clan even though Bluekit wasn't alive back then.

She looked at her friend, waiting for an answer.

"You want to do something?" Stormpaw looked around, clearly longing for excitement. "Resting is horrible. You should try it sometime. But not actually. It's really bad."
(Stormpaw wrenched her shoulder and that's why she has to rest.)

Sparkpaw hummed, thinking for a moment, before a mischievous grin appeared on her face. "How about we go hunting together, by ourselves?" She offered. "We'll impress our mentors like that!... Unless your shoulder stops you."

The white kit felt something small put its weight on her back. She squealed and tried to move away, but the other young kit was already on her. Kind of. She didn't like that. @Firey

"It won't," Stormpaw eyes were solid with determination. "Here's the plan. We sneak out through the dirt tunnel. Now I know that's kind of gross, but we don't want to be caught because warriors underestimate us. Then we'll go wherever we smell prey. It's a simple plan that should work. What do you think?"
