Webthroat marched into camp, having already dropped off his prey. His expression was aloof, of course, but the twitch of his tail gave away annoyance. "Galeflower eventually showed up, and we got some prey before returning. Wasn't much, but should be enough to feed the nursery, or whoever has a big enough stomach..."

The mottled molly stomped into camp after Webthroat, gaze stormy. “Hey!” she snapped, dropping the young rat she had caught. “We were sent to hunt, and we did that. I’m the patrol leader. Watch your mouth.” She ended with a snarl, tail lashing in frustration. It wasn’t her fault she had gotten the creeps in the middle of those half-abandoned woods! Who was Webthroat to call her out for it?

Shoving in front of the insolent tom, she faced Shadestorm. “The prey was running, if not well. Webthroat did the absolute minimum to help, and we faced no trouble.” External, at least. Turmoil was a troublesome thing when you couldn’t end it with a few well-aimed swipes. “Satisfactory, for once?”

[when reporting do not wait for a response from me with Shadestorm, just give the report. I probably won't have him respond unless it's something more important.

Patrol leaders who fail to report and warriors who don't show up will be punished by Dawnstar according to her new rules (unless you have an OOC excuse before the due date or request extra time)]

Patrols, patrols, patrols. They got boring after tens of times standing up where he was now and assigning them again and again. But they needed to be done, other clans needed to know how strong and healthy Shadowclan was, that they kept doing their job well no matter the circumcises. Besides, that odd scent needed to be checked, since nothing that was bad for Shadowclan was allowed to stay near it. Since Dawnstar had said she'd take over dealing with the punishments, Shadestrom technically wouldn't have to keep track of the cats anymore, but it was a force of habit by now, he needed to know who he could trust, and who he could not.

" Orcidmoon [ @Naiad ], you seem to be decently liked, so why don't you take Smokypaw [ @seeingstars ] to check on Thunderclan" Thunderclan seemed like slackers to him, and he didn't expect much from the fools.

Owlfeather [ @Hopeless ] , you've been consistently proving yourself, take Sharppaw [ @Shade. ] and Loonfeather [ @Zesha ] to Riverclan." They needed to be intimating to the fish - especially since the last patrol wasn't fully completed, and he saw Owlfeather as being a fitting cat to do that. She had expressed interest in being placed on more patrols, and while he might have given her a harder time, this being her third patrol in a row, after one with Bagderscar, and one where he had sent her to investigate that odd scent on a hunting patrol, but again and again she was returning on time, with the job done, and a good report if she was the leader. He appreciated it, too many cats weren't like her, and sometimes he wished they were.

" Lemonberry [ @Quackers ], lead a patrol to Windclan, Shinepaw [ @InsertCoolNameHere ] and Ashpaw [ @error ] will make your company." Three cats were fitting there. And he remembered putting Ashpaw on two Thunderclan patrols, so s change might be good, especially for an apprentice.

" Ivyfang [ @ChillyCiabattas ], take Skyclaw [ @Leafspeaker ] hunting, anywhere you'd like." Skyclaw had been one of the few to pester him to be on a patrol, annoying but if the warrior was so eager to go on one, Shadestorm was happy to make them work.

Skyclaw looked at Ivyfang. "Where are we gonna hunt?" He asked, unsheathing his claws.

Another patrol? Sure, she had asked for them and she wasn't one to turn down a chance to prove herself useful, both to the clan and to her ancestors. Usually, she didn't care much for compliments (or whatever the deputy's words could be called), and she didn't now either, but she took note of what Shadestorm said. Proving herself.

Anyway. A patrol to Riverclan led by her, with Loonfeather and Sharppaw. As she padded towards the patrol place her mind quickly scrolled through the list of things she knew about the two. For the apprentice the list was short. She could picture and face, and had a vague memory of Sharppaw being in some way related to Fiercefire? She could be wrong on that point though, since neither the tom nor the apprentice were of huge interest to her. Loonfeather however had more information attached to the name. He was related to Goldenstep wasn't he, the mate of her former apprentice's? Yes, that seemed more right. Owlfeather didn't like Elmshadow, and while she wasn't planning on trying to convince Goldenstep to break her ties with him, she wouldn't mind if that did end up happening. Gringercry, the queen's father might play a part if she ever decided to step in in some sense of the word. A thought for another day.

As she got closer to where the deputy was shouting out the patrols she began to move her gaze around, looking for her patrol mates. She wasn't going to call for them, since unnecessary noise was something she greatly disliked, if they couldn't find her she'd find them.

The apprentice itched with excitement, this was her first patrol, after all. "When do we leave?" she asked hastily.

Orchidmoon padded forward as her name was called. Smokypaw? She hadn't spoken with them before. Hopefully they'd at least be competent; she was not in the mood to spend a whole patrol babysitting some bee-brained apprentice. Her gaze swept the clearing, searching for her patrol partner. Hopefully they'd be there soon, she wanted to get started as soon as possible.

Once again, it was time to see who was going on patrol. The white and black speckled tom settled himself among the other cats and watched Shadestorm as he called out each patrol. It didn’t take long for him to hear his assignment; he was to go with Owlfeather and Sharppaw to RiverClan. That sounded easy enough. He didn’t know much about the two he’d be patrolling with though, aside from what they looked like. Loonfeather didn’t spend much time with apprentices outside of his own and he simply hadn’t run into Owlfeather to really interact with her

That didn’t matter now, though. He cast his gaze around and found Owlfeather first, with her brown fur and amber eyes. He wasted no time heading over to her and dipping his head in greeting before looking around for the apprentice, Sharppaw.

Sharppaw knew cats' names and what they looked like, thought not because of communication. Sharppaw liked to observe their lives and, admittedly, eavesdrop. But, hey, if it helped her find her patrolmates better than where was the harm? The freckled feline joined her small group. Maybe if she impressed then they might offer her some training. She desperately needed it.
