The medicine cat apprentice jumped a little as a voice from a little while away from her spoke. At his question she fidgeted a bit, not sure how to answer, eventually deciding on the truth. "It's been a bot of a rough week, really," she admitted, her tail swishing against the dirt laden earth. Flashpaw assumed that the apprentice knew about the vision that all the medicine dats had had and all the recent tension it had caused. If anything, whatever StarClan was trying to do was making it worse. Maybe if they didn't interfere so much, a lot of these problems wouldn't have happened. Sounds like something Daydream would say, her mind taunted, but she shoved the thought away. Now wasn't the time.
Sagepaw's eyes darted, not knowing if she would ever answer. Once her words quietly came out, he was even more loss. Of course he had come to cheer her up, but he had only assumed she just had a bad day with her friend. "Oh, a bad week. I assume it's because of that weird vision the ghosts told you?" He gave a weak grin as he made a couple seconds of eye contact with her. The grey tom licked his white chest casually, not noticing the serious gaze of Flashpaw.
The grey tom padded quietly into the den, he glanced at the other apprentices in their beds as they slept. He continued to make his way around the beds of moss until he slammed into a cold wall. He let out a pained shout. Sagepaw bit his tongue, hoping no one had woken up because of his silly mistakes. He took a few steps back and then reached out with his paw, due to the darkness he could only feel the moss bed pressed against the wall. His paws kneaded into the old bedding which hadn't been laid on for moons. He curled up onto the bed and draped his long tail onto his nose, only the tip could reach it. His body shivered as he prepared for another lonely night.
She looked up at another apprentices voice and scoffed 'Battle training," Her fur was looking a bit more... normal. Her long fur was clearly in no rush to dry of after a thro grooming "And you.. you look good compared to me" She mewed with a small yawn. Her belly growled she thought that even Daturapaw could hear it.
She looked around again her gray eyes looking less like a low hanging for and more of a clear gray river. She gave a long stretch, and looked over at her "Why do you look so rough?" She looked at her eye to eye and yawned again, her long calico pelt slicked against her from grooming so mutch
the she cat flicked her ears and lowered her head a tad bit once she heard thrushpaw speak and huffed clearly unaffected by her tone the first time she spoke . Then her eyebrow raised and looked down at herself and shrugged with a chuckle "eh... Still look a bit rugged.... I could look better .." she meowed sounding kinda upset in the way she looked and to be honest she was sometimes but sometimes she mostly didn't care . Daturapaw smirked at thrushpaws question and raised her head now shrugging yet again "how I look.and I was sleeping not too long ago so...you can call this my .... Sunrise look? Even though it's not really sunrise..." she answered and sighed . "so..who s your mentor?" she asked .

She chucked “More like high sun look,” She started to look more put together and less like a compleat mess, “And I have Pineear he’s very tough on me” She looked over at her again her and yawned Why was she so tired today well I mean she had gone on dawn patrol and done battle training
She stood up with a stretch “Whoes yours?” she cocked her head and simply looked at her, her long calico pelt has started to dry and become fluffy again her gray eyes looked calm again the last bit of roughness in her throat had gone away @Checkmate

[FONT="Arial Narrow"]ah. another litter. daydream sat next to the molly, listening to her every word. time did pass quickly, daydream was full grown yet still was smaller than their ex mentor, but the age still remained. she was now expecting another litter? that was something to be excited about. "as a medicine cat we study both the body and the mind," they hummed in response, their tone calm and confident,"i have seen cats who were subjected to death walk out from my den full healed and fine because theyve had the spirit to keep going," they mewed for example, "if you believe your kitting will go terrible, then it will, its the definition of a negative self fulfilling phocephy," they explained. they couldnt help but think like a medicine cat all the time, its what they were and always would be deep down. but now that was out of the way, they could comfort her. "what im saying is.. have hope. its okay to be discouraged or worried, but i have a good feeling about this." they said gently, "plus youve got the best medicine cats in all the clans caring for your every need this time, ill try my best that it all goes smoothly."

But my last litter, I almost just abandoned them and left them to my mother's care, to keep up with my duties. And now There's only two of them left alive.. What if that happens again?"
She spoke quite quickly, as if she were afraid to speak these words aloud. She still kept the whole thing about Wolfpaw to herself, it was so long ago and most of the clan had forgotten. She had talked with Daydream about it before, but it was mainly only them, and Moondancer's mother and mate that knew about her former daughter.
Looking straight at the medicine cat now, Moondancer's voice suddenly shifted to complete seriousness, almost demanding.
"No matter what happens, will you make sure I stay with this litter till the day they leave the nursery, even if you have to physically force me?"

the walk back from the meeting had been nothing but tense silence. it had been the only time daydream had been distinctly aggravated at flashpaw. despite what other cats said about them, they actually had alot of patience and understanding, especially towards flashpaw because they understood clearly what she was going through. but after that.. they just couldnt understand. being able to look heatherfur in the eye and say that riverclan deserves a war. heatherfur - the very cat flashpaw had been training aside for moons. had gotten to know, had basically been raised around through her apprenticeship. it left a bitter taste in their mouth at the mention of her disloyalty. they didnt speak for most of the walk, unless it was small talk like "almost there" or "right turn" and such. besides that, nothing but the crunch of leaves filled the air as they entered camp together.
Every fraction of a second of silence was a slice through Flashpaw's heart. She kept her eyes down and wanted so desperately to curl up into a ball and cry. She didn't want war. She didn't want to drive out all of RiverClan, or something crazy like that. She just thought that Fallenstar was a bad leader. But of course, speaking had gotten her in trouble once again. Speaking had been something only her best friend had been able to get out of her. And yet, in the end, speaking had gotten her out of breath. And in the end, her best friend had died at her paws. She was always the problem. If she just kept her mouth shut and followed her normal aprentjce duties instead of making Daydream give her an easier life, then their life would be better. Her best friend would still be alive. So many people would be happier if she had never existed at all. Maybe she should step down. At least then she would be out of Daydream's life. All she would have to do is learn how to hunt again. But then she'd have to have a new mentor, and make their life miserable, too. Why couldn't she just have a normal life? Why couldn't she be small and insignificant and die alone instead of negatively affecting everyone she talked to?

The grey tom stretched one long leg in front of the other, widening his stride to it’s full length. He watched the apprentices train with their caring mentors, mimicking their movements. His heart pounded when he saw the joy on their faces, envy flooded his heart. All he wanted was a mentor to train him. With his hunting skills, he’d be lucky to catch a snail.
Sagepaw flicked his tail, the sun shone bright into his sage green eyes. He crouched further so as to avoid the sun. His paws made a slight padding sound while he practiced the moves the apprentices made. His head slammed into something rough. A warm, thick liquid dropped down from his nose, he could taste the blood in his mouth. His vision blurred while his knees shook, and he collapsed into a heap.
Peering up at the younger cat, Moondancer still had a worried gaze in her eyes. Pawing at the ground as she sat still, she'd shake her head lightly as they spoke. daydream admired her honesty. she knew her flaws, which was being slightly workaholic when it came to warrior duties, so they would help her with that willingly. "if course," they nodded confidently. they could be pretty stubborn, too. especially when it came to kits needs, they always had a soft spot for them since they.. didnt have the best kithood. they wanted others to have better then they had. "acceptance is the first stage of improving, you have. now its time to act on it when these kittens come," they hummed, leaning down for a few moments to gaze at her swollen belly, leaning back up again. "we can start by atleast making your nest for the nursery, and you can slowly move in as you go further into your pregnancy."

daydream could sense the tension in the air from a mile away. it clawed along their pelt like static and made their mind fuzzy and fill with annoyance. the whole meeting had been a bust - it was humiliating. sire, they didnt like fallenstar either, but saying anything remotely that agreed with the leaders showed that what they were thinking was okay, only egging them on. their paws felt heavy and they were tired, but they knew they wouldnt be able to sleep. daydream had always had a resting.. angry face, but now they just looked pissed. their ear twitched as they entered the clearing , place feeling a little less like home compared to when they left. "to the medicine cat den," they ordered, more of a command than a question, voice emotionless which seemed even worse than it being angry. they didnt voice anything. what was there to say after that? no matter what happened though, they were a medicine cat, they were flashpaws mentor, too. they had noticed her breathing heighten at certain moments during the meeting, and they were planning on treating it before they went off into the territory. alone.

The smoky she-cat didn't want to look at her mentor's face. Didn't want to look up and see pure disappointment in their eyes. And when her mentor spoke, she finally shattered. "No," she whispered, both her voice and her physical form shaking. She took a few steps back, her tail twitching. Flashpaw crouched to the ground, her face taut with emotion. "I- I- I can't go in there. I don't deserve to go in there. I don't deserve to live in this world." She began gasping for breath as her heart raced and her head reeled. The feline was twitching hysterically, and she was probably making a scene. But at that moment, everything was a blur. "I just had to open my mouth. I had to make a scene. I had to ruin everything. I had to make everyone hurt. If I never existed, this never would've happened. You'd be happy," she rambled through fits of coughing, her eyes dreary and half opened. Maybe she could just lie her and hold her breath until she died. Maybe she could undo the pain she'd brought upon the world by removing herself from it. If that didn't work, she could just run onto a human road and let that do the job for her. Her mind grew woozy from lack of oxygen, and the stress was making her blood pressure skyrocket.
