Chuckling almost uneasily along with her sister, answering I hope you'll be allowed back. I mean, why wouldn't you? Unless they can't find a mentor. But I could mentor you! Although I have Stripepaw..... she trailed off, really getting hit by how much had changed and how much she had grown and matured since her sister had disappeared. She thought about different things now. Making sure hunting happened, training Stripepaw, training other apprentices. Sootpaw thought mostly about Ottersplash she was fairly sure, not about the things she used to. What if it was to different, too much had changed? Pushing and smushing those thoughts down, she skipped into the lead as they headed for camp.

Wavepaw started at the camp. She sniffed and kept walking slower and unsure. She saw the leader and gasped. You do the talking. she whispered and stepped behind her sister and trailed behind her. @gs29513 @wnder

Mossygrove padded out into the territory with her new apprentice as well as Eelsting and Turtlepaw. She was familiar enough with the territory by now, but she was still greatly relieved that Eelsting was here as well to help her out. She didn't feel ready to be a mentor again, especially not a mentor to a RiverClan apprentice. How would she show Springpaw the ways of RiverClan when Mossygrove was barely a RiverClan cat herself?

"Where should we go first?" She asked the other warrior, forcing her doubts to the back of her mind. Now wasn't the time for self-deprecation. This wasn't about her, it was about the kids.

Eelsting strolled lazily near Mossygrove, watching her through half-lidded eyes and keeping his ears on the swivel to make sure that Turtlepaw was still keeping up. He barely remembered that Mossy didn't come from Riverclan- she certainly smelled like a Riverclanner by now- but they were around the same age and he obviously hadn't trained with her so the knowledge was always nearby. It was only at this moment, though, that he thought to wonder how long she had been there. He hadn't been paying attention until their first official meeting and now he was unsure if she should feel entirely comfortable leading a tour of the territory.

Content to keep the trip leisurely, Eelsting didn't worry too much. He could always redirect them if Mossygrove tripped up, but she was a big girl and she could surely find her way around the territory well enough to be offended by any offer of assistance from him. At her question, though, Eelsting paused. Where should they go? He supposed it didn't matter too much- it just depended on whether they wanted to do a loop or start farthest away and move backward.

"Seastones is a good place to start if we want to go in a big loop. We can show them Lionsbeach and Lionsrange from there without having to actually walk through it- Lionsrange especially is too far for them at this age, I would say. We could loop around and end at the training beach. But if you want to start farthest away and move backward, we could go to cattail pond and around that way."

Leave it to Eelsting to thank a cat for helping him by smashing directly into her and sending them both tumbling. The sleek smoke tom shook his head comically to stop it from buzzing and looked up sheepishly at poor Mossygrove who looked little better than he at this point. Pulling himself up from the ground and picking embarrassedly at the left over twigs stuck to his fur, Eelsting offered a paw to help her up if she wanted it.

“Sorry about that! Guess you just don’t know your own strength, huh?”

His grey-green eyes twinkled teasingly and he let out a laugh to match Mossygrove’s. Her suggestion that they tell Sootstar about the rogues gave him a momentary pause and sent his crooked grin faltering, but Eelsting recovered quickly enough to realize she was teasing. Thank the stars- it would have been a nightmare trying to get out of that one.

“Oh we should definitely track them down! Surely he’ll be tremendously impressed when we hand him three scruffy rogue pelts! No need to worry him about them while they’re still on the lamb!”

"I guess you're right," The gray she-cat chuckled nervously, taking a moment to lick her pelt to straighten it out after their crash landing.

"Well then, since you're the one who met them, you'd know their scents, right?" Mossygrove continued with a smile. "Why don't you lead the way? I'll help you take them on." She was sure this act wouldn't keep up much longer now that he was free, and she was already amused thinking of where he'd take his story from here. But she realized he might be getting tired of keeping it up, and he also probably knew quite well that she was aware of the joke.

"Unless you'd rather go hunting or something?" She asked finally, after a long moment of self-deliberation. This would be a great opportunity to make a connection in this strange new clan. If he said no, of course she'd understand, and she'd just go back to her walk by herself.

This was quickly getting out of paw and Eelsting made a note to never weave a lie this big for real. He was increasingly grateful for the amused vibe of Mossygrove's responses- she obviously was joking and didn't really expect him to produce three villainous rogues. Eelsting also, however, very much wanted to keep this conversation going, so his mind whirred for a way to keep this up.

Like a gift from Starclan, Mossygrove offered the perfect way out of a hopeless rogue hunt while continuing to spend time together. The last thing Eelsting wanted was to part ways now! She very well may have saved his life! Well... maybe that was a little dramatic, but she'd certainly saved his pride- at least what was left of it. A hunt with a new friend sounded perfect!

"Ah, I like the way you think! Hunting to feed the clan while we keep an eye out for the mangy rogues- multitasking! You genius!"

Springpaw trotted along right beside Mossygrove, her eyes wide and curious. There was so much stuff to see! So much stuff to do! It was absolutely amazing! Though the trees weren't exactly lush and green, she still was enjoying all the new sights and smells. Small shivers occasionally went through her body, causing her to fluff out her fur to shield herself from the cold air, "Brrr! It's chilly out, isn't it!" she mewed, giggling lightly at the end. Slowing her pace slightly, she fell behind so that she was walking along next to her sister. "Hey, Turt! Whatcha think so far? Its fun, right?" she asked, cocking her head at the lilac tortoiseshell. Ear flicking as the two warriors started talking, she paid close attention to the two of them. Seastones? That was where the gatherings were, right? Eyes brightening, she grinned at her mentor, "Yeah, lets go there first! I wanna stand on the rocks and see what Sootstar sees at gatherings!" she chirped, bouncing lightly as she walked along.

Turtlepaw was slightly lagging behind, her head down as she padded along. She was still nervous about being an apprentice, but she didn't want to make Springpaw sad by staying behind. Besides, she knew that she would have to go out eventually. She wasn't paying much attention to what landmarks they were passing - she decided that she could learn them on her way back - but she was paying attention to the sounds around her. It wasn't as...loud as she thought it would be, but maybe that was because it was leafbare? It was pretty scary, to be completely honest. She didn't like the silence, it made her feel pretty uneasy. For all she knew, anything could be lurking around the corner, ready to leap out at her. Though her sister might be completely blown away by all the sights of the forest, she wasn't. In fact, she wasn't really seeing much that was all that interesting. She would much rather be in camp, maybe sleeping in a warm nest.

Ears perking as she heard her sisters voice, she glanced up at the calliby with a curious look on her face. Fun? No, not really. Quite the opposite, actually. Try scared out of her mind. But, she didn't want her sister to know that. Knowing her, Springpaw would let that thought ruin the rest of the tour, and she didn't want to drag her down. "Um, its....fine. Its k-kinda fun..." she quietly mewed, trailing off a bit at the end. When her mentor started talking, she glanced up briefly. She really didn't mind all that much where they went, as long as they got back quickly.

He was too engrossed in this thoughts and sending glances to his mate that he didn't notice the squirrel and was taken a back when she leapt foward, killing it. A surprised purr rumbled through him and he leaned into her as she padded back with her catch.
"Wonderful catch! And spotting. I hadn't noticed it."
His ears grew warm as embarrassment flooded his belly.

Flamebriar flickered her tail in excitement. She was glad to have caught the squirrel. They were one of the trickiest to catch, especially after not hunting for a while. She was also very glad that he thought it was a wonderful catch. She felt more confident. "You didn't? Then what exactly were you looking at that to distract you. I didn't know you could even get distracted.", she meowed.

Sedgestorm rumbled in embarrassment, whiskers twitching.
"I was thinking. Perhaps a bit too much."
He had also been staring, but he wouldn't be mentioning that. He was a little too prideful.
But at least Flamebriar was enjoying herself and the opportunity to start back to warrior duties.

Sedgestorm couldn't keep himself from a mrow of laughter at her statement.
"Doesn't everyone get distracted now and again?"
He was delighted to hear she thought highly of him, even if the statement itself had been meant as a joke.

Flamebriar smiled. She wanted to catch something else, but she wanted to make sure he had a share in hunting or it would feel she was hunting on her own. They were doing this together and she was glad. Before they couldn't go much anywhere, but now with her eyesight she can leave the camp. "I guess so. I know I do.", she meowed. Right at that moment she was distracted by a vole. She looked at him. "Your turn.", Flamebriar whispered.
