He’d seen a pelt over by that tree. The lean warrior began to "climb" the tree, very obviously clawing the bark. His intent was to simply scare his partner into jumping down. He couldn’t climb.

Salmonsong braced herself in the tree before suddenly realizing she didn’t know how to get down so she jumped from a high branch to a lower branch and a lower branch until she was as close to the ground before hesitating and jumping down stumbling before sprinting off hoping he wouldn’t catch her.

Well, that was unexpected.

Shadedspire would watch, mesmerized, as Salmonsong leaped from branch to branch. Until she was several fox-lengths away and running "Hey!" he yelled, smiling. "Nice move!" He wasn’t going to be a bad sport. That was smart. The warrior would run after her, trying to keep an eye on her tail as he followed her through the trees.

Salmonsong ducked running in a loop around a tree before sprinting off again trying to lose him by weaving around trees hoping to tire him out, despite it tiring her out too.

He figured it out after weaving around a few trees. He was wheezing. Stupid lungs. Shadedspire coughed a bit, trying to clear his throat. He hoped it didn’t make him vulnerable.

Hearing Shadedspire cough her mother instincts kicked in and for a good couple seconds she skidded to a stop almost about to quit over him coughing, before remembering that this was war not just fun tag. And she resumed her jogging.

It seemed Salmonsong expressed a bit of hesitation when he started to cough. That wasn’t his intention at all, and he even felt bad about making her worry. "Just a little tickle in the throat, don’t worry ‘bout me." He would do his best to reassure her, but take up a hunter’s crouch. His plan? Pounce on her. Simple. Try to pin her.

Salmonsong seemed to slow down to a walk while talking to him. Perhaps he could use that to his advantage while also ding what he always did — talk. "You said you gave birth recently? I never said congrats. How are the little ones?" He took this time to creep out into the open, where he could more easily watch his partner. He wasn’t going to be sneaky; after all, he was a chatty cat. Shadedspire would slowly circle the area.

Salmonsong while walking smiled,” They seem quite healthy, but they are a rowdy group, never wanting to sleep.“ she meowed practically forgetting about the challenge, it was like going out hunting with a friend by now.
