The old tom looked up quietly when he heard his name added to those with reassignments. Batglare rose to his paws and sought out his second apprentice, Whisperingpaw, while listening to Twilightstar speak about the Cowtuft and the deaths in the clan. They had lost several clanmates due to their medicine cats' incompetence. Regardless of whether or not it was on purpose or accident, their medicine cat's job was to ensure the clan remained healthy and dealt with sickness and both were currently failing. He hoped Cowtuft was properly held responsible for it, he'd want the same with Lightningstorm as well, she wasn't an apprentice any longer, but WindClan couldn't go a medicine cat.

Grunting softly, Batglare located the orange tom with green eyes as he called out the senior name. For a paw, he looked rather mean which was different from his usual batch of broken apprentices he had to deal with. The large senior followed the customary meeting of mentor and apprentice dipped his head to touch noses with the smaller tom.

"What training have you gotten done." Training with Twistedpaw has proven to be slow, but that was due to her trauma and physical disabilities. Batglare assumed training with this Whisperingpaw would be quicker.

Twilightstar's single eye rested on Scorchedfang as he was the only one who decided to voice any concerns regarding the medicine or the deceased cats. "Yes, we had an epidemic some moons back where we lost multiple cats like this, we called it Snow Fever. Unfortunately, none of the symptoms align with the fever, but it's not impossible to believe this may be some new variant of it. If you wish help, you can speak to Cowtuft about collecting the herbs he used to cure the clan last time. I'm sure he'd appreciate the help." She told the warrior with a grateful dip of her head.

The lilac feline waited to see if anyone else had anything to say regarding their medicine cats, but it was quite outside of those meeting their mentors and apprentices so Twilightstar carried on.

"Dawnstar came and spoke to me after the last gathering. She had proposed that WindClan and ShadowClan ally themselves together. She believes that ThunderClan has grown too arrogant, even though they may try to appease us for Spiderthroat's wrongdoings, that their arrogance will continue to grow and they'll simply be back at it disregarding our borders and murdering our clanmates as they please in due time."

"Dawnstar thinks that it's only a matter of time before RiverClan follows in their paw steps. She thinks Larkstar to inexperienced and young to keep proper control over RiverClan and Bumblestar to ignorant and uncaring to control ThunderClan. She says it is smarter for us to work together to keep order among the clans rather than rely on their leaders to do it for us. I am inclined to agree with her, but I'm willing to hear any cat who doesn't agree with this alliance." Dawnstar said either side could break the alliance whenever they please with no animosity from ShadowClan. This wasn't a friendly alliance or anything like this, they were merely using each other to keep RiverClan and ThunderClan in line.

While the clan digests that news, Twilightstar jumped into the next biggest headache regarding RiverClan. "As I've already warned RiverClan to stop trespassing into WindClan territory, I've recently received another report about RiverClan trespassing, this time they've gone as far as damaging our herbs and stealing them from us. I believe it's time to send a proper message to RiverClan that WindClan will no longer tolerate such disrespect and thievery." RiverClan was pushing Twilightstar's patience. She tried to settle this verbally but actions had to be taken now.

"Batglare will be leading a patrol to RiverClan, along with Softsong and whichever volunteers want to with them. I want the first RiverClan patrol found shredded, do not kill anyone no need to give RiverClan a reason to actually complain. Shred them and then let go, make sure they take back the message to stay out of WindClan's territory and to leave our herbs alone unless they want a full-blown war." Usually, Twilightstar would put Fallownose in charge of such a task as this, but the tom looked as tired as she felt and had recently just lost his only daughter. He could do with some time without additional responsibilities being thrown onto his shoulders.

"An alliance? That sounds nice" Spottedpaw mutter as she thought about what that could mean for them. She hoped that this temporary alliance stuck around to something more permanent. It would be a great boon to the clan.

Dawnstar.

That name instilled a rage within Bravebird that she still had yet to pinpoint. She knew she had battled her at the fight for the Sky Glade, because she had defended Twilightstar and fought alongside Peachfrost. But why... was that cat at the front of her mind? It felt as though the answer was just barely out of reach, unable to be obtained no matter how much she stretched her mind for it.

An... alliance? Fur bristling and unable to sit still any longer, the lean warrior stood up with a sharp look to her leader. She knew her to be level-headed and smart - what in the name of the stars above was she thinking even entertaining the idea of aligning with ShadowClan?? "Ally with ShadowClan?? Twilightstar, please tell me you are joking. That Clan ripped us apart and killed us for sport!! They had an entire patrol rip and tear into one of our own patrols, making the cats unrecognizable for fun!" It just did not feel right to ally with a Clan that had been so hell-bent on tearing them down. Not to mention their stinking claws that had the audacity to end the life of Fernpaw, mutilate him as if he were nothing more than prey. It didn't matter if he had come back, it was the principle of it all - and it made her heart burn with rage. "We are prideful, we are warriors - ShadowClan is nothing but fox-hearted croaking frogs that reek of rotten prey. Aligning with them will be a mistake!"

A low snarl made it clear how much she disliked the idea, and she had no qualms in stepping up to challenge it. WindClan was strong! They didn't need to ally themselves with anyone to win battles - they had managed just fine on their own. Besides, she found it hard to fathom that Dawnstar was doing this out of the nonexistent goodness of her heart. She had an agenda, she always had when it came to WindClan. That much had been made clear when she stormed into their camp and kidnapped Twilight - oh. Oh maybe that's why she hated the massively scarred she-cat so much. Memories of the leader bursting into their camp, after having killed their deputy and announcing she'd had Twilightstar captive - they poured into her mind. It would've knocked her off her paws, remembering, if her claws weren't already dug into the ground.

She gave a lash of her tail as patrols were announced to be dispatched to RiverClan. Brave was still seething with anger, but it didn't cloud the hate she felt at hearing how disrespectful both RiverClan and ThunderClan were being. Of course they were all coming after WindClan; they were the only ones in the entire forest it seemed that still carried the honor and dignity of being Clan warriors. ShadowClan aside, she wouldn't mind tearing into the pelts of anyone who was not WindClan.

Head swinging to find Batglare in the crowd, she fixed him with a hard stare. "I'm coming on that patrol." It was not a question, and it left no room for arguments. Bravebird was back on WindClan's moors and for as long as this second life allowed her to, she would fight for it.

Bristlepaw flinched back. Attack RiverClan? Twilightstar couldn't be serious!

Then, the apprentice thought of something, and called out to both her leader and deputy.

''Wait!'' Bristlepaw bounded forward. ''What if RiverClan retaliates, Twilightstar?''

Bristlepaw's ears were drooping, and her tail tip flicked to-and-fro uneasily. ''Azaleashine is too close to kitting to be able to fight back if RiverClan attacks the camp, and the elders have done more than enough for WindClan. What do you think will happen if we start a fight?''

''I'm not trying to question your orders, Twilightstar,'' Bristlepaw meowed. ''I'm just worried for the safety of the Clan.''

Gingersplash padded up beside Bristlepaw, laying her tail tip on the blue-gray and white apprentice's shoulder whilst looking up at Twilightstar and Fallownose.

''Bristlepaw's right,'' The dilute tortoiseshell pointed out. ''Azaleashine IS too close to kitting, and I'm sure Bluebellflurry wouldn't appreciate it if her sister and her kin are killed if RiverClan retaliates.''

Gingersplash shot a glance at Bluebellflurry, whose eyes narrowed, showing no emotion. Then, Gingersplash looked back up at the High Ranks.

''If anything, we should let RiverClan attack first. At least we would be prepared for an attack.''

Bristlepaw looked at Gingersplash gratefully before turning her desperate gaze back to Twilightstar and Fallownose.

''Please!'' The apprentice begged. ''Think about what you're saying! Should you really risk the lives of your Clanmates on battle patrols? Hasn't Mousepaw's death shown you that too much blood has already been spilled?''

''Listen, I know that you two are my Clan Leader and my Clan Deputy, but I should have an opinion, too,'' Bristlepaw pointed out. ''Actually, so should ALL of us.''

Swiftwind, being still sick in the medicine den.. would’ve loved to help out. But she couldn’t, so Nightheart stepped forward herself. “I volunteer to go on the patrol” she said quietly

Caterpillarpaw was about to walk away when she reliazed something. That cat was Ryefur wasn't it? The tiny blind newly apprenticed six moon old meowed so umm Ryefur you're my new mentor. That was Ryefur right? @Pumpkin Latte
