That was a lot to take in all at once. Firstly, he was glad to hear that the tom was settling in just fine. It was a relief. Second, it was good to hear that he wasn't the only one with a slight aversion to RiverClan's main course meal. There was, of course, the specification to be made that Sootflare had grown up eating fish and should be used to it by now but that wasn't very important.

"While I'm glad to hear about your loyalty," he began, "I do hope you won't be laying down your life for us any time soon." An amused purr rumbled out with that, hoping to keep things a bit lighter. "With your injury, I'm sure it will be fine for you to stay home, bud. I certainly don't have an issue with it."

He raised a brow at the description of Crocusblaze. Perhaps 'tearing your heart out with one bite' was a bit much, but ShadowClan certainly had some formidable, and vicious, fighters on their side. IT would be something to take up with Lionstar, though he was sure the fluffy yellow leader was more than aware. "I'll be sure to talk to Lionstar about stationing you in the clearing and I'll bring up this Crocusblaze. Is that all?"

Was he being too formal? Perhaps he was. Maybe that was something he could work on.

"Do you call everyone bud or just the cats you dub to be younger than you?" Bumblebelly asked with a small squeaky giggle. The tick was cute, he had his own habits of all everyone darling but with his emotions being all over the place, it had been a while before he found himself in a good enough mood to do so.

Bumblebelly's whole body seemed to ease. He hadn't even been there for a whole moon yet, the idea of jumping back into the place he called home only a week or so ago made his heartache with fear. Should he mention Dogpaw? Maybe, best not. She was only an apprentice, after all, probably couldn't do much damage, surely she wouldn't be able to do more than a scratch.

"Thats it," He cooed quietly, a quiet hum to his words. "I'd be nice to chat soon you know, less as warrior and deputy but more as two buds," Bumblebelly gave him a wink, turning on his heels to leave. "Pleasure talking to you, darling!"

Humoring you? Flowerpaw rolled her eyes with exasperation. Now that was something she had something to say about. She was sore now from being thrown around. "So... Are we going to try some fishing next time?" She asked, wanting to make sure that Spiralheart knew she wanted to at least try that. To Flowerpaw, learning to fish now seemed... more intriguing than disgusting. As it had seemed like before.

Snowpaw jumped in surprise when she heard berrypaws call. She looked over to berrypaw, then back at creekleap, "do you know what we're doing?" She asked in confusion, 'normally, lionstar makes the warriors do this kinda stuff...' She thought.

Dogkit took a moment to watch her, then copied her as best as he could. He crouched down, ready to leap. He looked at her slightly. "Like this?" he asked.

"So your Clan-mates were arguing," Lionstar repeated, not really pleased with the whole ordeal. "And you left the vicinity of your patrol to hunt while the situation escalated to one of your patrol members attacking the other."

Yeah, that didn't sound very good.

"Goosepaw.. I understand you passed the assessment Poppytwist gave you, but you are still an apprentice expected to follow the rules set in place for apprentices. You left your patrol and in your absence, one of your Clan-mates harmed another. Instead of trying to de-escalate the situation or request your Clan-mates focus on doing the patrol, you chose to move along during their spat and allow the conflict to continue." Lionstar frowned.

"You are very fortunate, Goosepaw-- that you decided to be honest in your report to me, because Poppytwist's assessment was not your final assessment. This was."

There was a little bit of smug pride fluttering in her chest, this time, she couldn’t help the smile touching her lips. So it seems her act had been bought! She never thought of herself as much of an actor, but man she really hit that one out of the ballpark. Of course she wanted to apologize to Fawnsqueak later, she had gotten carried away with her words and act, she didn’t actually mean it and well, the strike just felt natural.

Cobaltshade hid further away in the clearing, eavesdropping on Goosepaw’s report. It was satisfying to hear that he was telling the truth, but she was particularly dissatisfied with the fact he had left in the middle of them arguing. In fact that thought alone was troubling. What if he was a warrior and walked away when both of his clanmates were arguing and they started throwing actual blows, or, worst case, if one killed another? It was a troubling thought.

When she heard the last words though, she figured it would be a good time to show herself with a light smile. Standing up, she padded over after the big reveal, touched his shoulder with the tip of her tail before going to stand next to Lionstar. “It’s never good to leave an argument to fester, even if you’re an apprentice and the two arguing are warriors. You should always try to diffuse a hostile situation or divert attention away from it,” she said cooly, looking apologetically at Fawnsqueak.

Fawnsqueak arrived on the scene as Lionstar was finishing up and continued onward upon his reveal that the true nature of the outing wasn't casual or just any patrol. Once that was cleared, he padded forward with a raised head and faint smile, greeting Cobaltshade with a friendly flick of his puff-tail. "They should give you, like, an award for that," he complimented her lowly. "I didn't really expecting the whole attacking part. Kind of wild." It had been fun though, and being a confederate to Lionstar's plan allowed any lingering method-acting negativity to dissipate.

To Goosepaw, he praised, "Congratulations on passing. It's.. honestly nice to see how much of a responsible cat you've become." It wasn't ...great that he had left two warriors scuffling to their own devices, but presenting the leader with the truth of a violent confrontation was always the right course of action regardless of consequence and personal friendships.

Foxpaw laughed a bit "Not quite Dogkit, here let me help." Foxpaw proceeded to reposition Dogkit's feet until they were correct. "Alright, let's try a swipe." she said as she demonstrated to correct swipe.
